is the C855 is a really good tv?
can anyone vouch for the VRR performance ?
It worked for me the one time I tested it with my gaming PC. Visually I can't say I noticed a massive change, but Hogwarts Legacy isn't really heavily suited to high refresh rate the way an FPS game is.
Need a 65" 😞
Nope go for 75
It was $1,650 yesterday! I bought one second hand yesterday from my boss at $950 thinking I'd got myself a steal.
Haven't had much time with it yet, but liking it so far.
Struggled to log into a second Google account but managed to get it done.
Keen to see how it goes with my Xbox. Think it's a good excuse for another run of Red Dead 2.If you have 55 thinking to upgrade to 65, dont
Go 75 and not regretted like me
Depends how close you are to the TV.
If you are in a small apartment and sit 1.5m from TV, 75 inch maybe too big?I am curious, is there any other reason you're saying go for the 75" other than size?
With every gadgets usually there is a sweet spot (price wise), at a particular time. Right now i believe it is 75".
And trust me the difference between 55 and 65 is too small i wish i went 75. Read what the disco said below.
And never worry about oh too big thought. After a while you'll want more.100%
absolutrly
It depends on what you watch and how far away you sit from your TV.
For movies, where most of the action happens at the very centre of the frame, then a larger TV is usually fine. However, for some sports, having a larger TV can inhibit the viewing experience.
I used to have a 75", and I watch a lot of tennis - it made me quite dizzy because of how big the screen was. Found someone on Marketplace with the same 65" model and wanting to upgrade to a 75", so worked out a trade. It's been significantly better for sports, even though I do agree that for movies, the 75:" was more immersive.
If only it was $1169 instead….
any deals on a 85 inch?
I'm kinda tempted by that, the pro version looks to be a lot brighter than the standard version (thus betting HDR).
But I feel if I'm going to spend that much, I might as well look at mini-led.
C855 is definitely my next upgrade, waiting for Black Friday to see if there will be any deals
Ive been a brand name (samsung, sony etc) tv person my whole life, and this is the first time ive done something different and got myself a 75" tcl c855. Wow this thing is amazing, my previous samsung 65" 4k was good, but the actual increase in quality and detail is noticible. As others have said, i read a lot about people complaining that 75" is too big, i actually found it to be the perfect size. I could prob even go 80", 85" might be pushing it in my living area.
Same here mate, upgraded from a 75" Samsung and will not go back.
I will look to upgrade to a 85" C855 next.I bought the 85" 855 a couple of months ago. So happy with it. The motion interpolation is definitely the weak point, juddery when you use it.
But the brightness and contrast is ridiculously good for $2760.
Absolutely, its bang for bucks within that price range.

What do you mean by "something different"? TCL is one of the top TV brands (e.g. see https://www.channelnews.com.au/lg-pushed-into-4th-spot-by-tc…)
Not bad I got last display model from local JB in Jun for $1300, I think lowest around then was $1350ish
Whats the difference between the 2023 vs 2024 model?
New one has Mini LED and can go a little brighter.
I checked it out and it's a little too bright you get a headache. Personal of course. Not sure TV's need to keep getting brighter you'll just go blind one day.
Whaaaat you talken about willis?
You do know that max brightness is the max, not what you have to use? Lower it and stop whining.
Watching TV with the blinds up is now a totally doable thing before. Wasn't able to with my old TV.
You are right that some scenes do become eye searingly bright in HDR films but you can always turn it down.
Waiting 75 c855
yeah, its jsut awesome
I recently bought the 65" version. Absolutely fantastic set.
Hey has anyone ever price matched JB to Costco to include delivery (ie current deal on same model $50 cheaper incl deliver).
Heading to JB tomorrow to try my luck.Every time I've tried to price match with JB they ask for a link or look it up online themselves.
Have a 10 year old 47 inch LG, still going strong w added Chromecast. I know anything new will look amazing in comparison, but what reasonably priced 75 inch are people holding out for in Black Friday? Hisense?
My observation is, trend on ozb has been to steer away from Hisense, and TCL has been a great choice for lot of us here. Grab C855 if it suits your budget, I got one 2-3 weeks back and it's amazing!
Awesome, cheers. Will keep eye out in Black Friday sales 🤞
Any thoughts on this being cheaper for black friday deals?
Thanks for the heads up! Just in the market for a long overdued upgrade from an ancient LG 40" 😂😑
I'm guessing I can offset the delivery cost by using a giftcard with cashback.
Any recommendations for a good value sound bar as that seems to be the only weakness of this TV?Bought one thanks op, replacing a 2019 Samsung 55" ru7100
120hz and VRR being tech I am looking forward to trying with my ps5
Back to $1495. Damn it I was slow on the draw for this one ðŸ˜
Such a good TV, hopefully C855 goes on sale soon.
