    Can this be used on carpet only? Ie can the mop function be disabled?

      You can make areas other than carpet as no-go areas n lock the map.
      If the carpet area is not next to each other, divide by rooms and select those rooms as vacuum only.

      If you never want to mop, you can just take out the mop attachment.

    Looking for a robo vac / mop under $1k. Any particular standout recommendation? I had been considering Roborock or Dreame brands. Happy to wait for a deal.

      For around $1,000, it would be hard to go past the Qrevo MaxV (https://www.mobileciti.com.au/roborock-qrevo-maxv-robot-vacu…), which would be close to $1k after the $300 discount.

      Realistically, you are getting pretty similar performance to an S8 in vacuuming, arguably better performance in mopping (according to some people), and you lose only a little bit in intelligence and object avoidance.
