YouTube Premium (Turkiye) Family Plan Increased to TRY 159.99/Month ($7AUD)

Just got this from Youtube. I am glad that I still get hold of YT Premium in Turkiye as I was almost kicked out of it last month until I changed my credit card. They somehow took my new Australian credit card.

The cost increased from 115.99 to 159.99/month but at $7 for my whole family I am not complaining

yt premium is so good for mobile watching, yt music. Listening to videos while phone is off, education, entertainment. For some you can mock yt premium all you want but for a lot of us youtube premium is amazing especially at $2ish a month

Does this mean for those who were already using the Turkish Youtube premium who also got an email stating they need a turkey issued payment method, will now no longer be need and instead be charged with raised prices?

    • I have the same question

  • I was registered to YT Pakistan and they also refused my Aussie CCs so I'm now signed up to YT India via Apple Store, which seems to still be relatively well priced …

    • How does that work? I thought the Apple Store only sold Apple products, in fact, that's all I can see in the Apple-Store-App on my iphone.

They mean the apple App store, I did the same because I was also kicked off my Pakistan plan. Had to make new apple account set to turkey, and use a turkish apple store giftcard. But just got an email saying Family price through apple is 209 try now, $9.

        • Ah now I see, you had to make a new account, that explains it, cheers.

    Just got this email:

"To continue delivering great service and features, we’re increasing your price to TRY 104.99/month. We don’t make these decisions lightly, but this update will allow us to continue to improve Premium and support the creators and artists you watch on YouTube.

Apple will email you with additional information.

Note that you can save on your Premium subscription by signing up directly on our website, where the new rate for your plan would be TRY 79.99/month. "

    • Just got it for the family too. I think they're catching on in general

  • I just got the email saying I need to change to a Ukrainian payment method. Are there My cards like revolt that will work? What's the best way to avoid paying the insane prices for an Australian based subscription?

      It's still a legitimate bargain.

  • Looks like India Family Plan is $7AUD a month now too

  • Hey Edison AU, I got that email too and day before yesterday got another email asking me to update payment to Turskish issued cc! Looks like my time with Turkey is over!

    • Unfortunately, I have just received the same email as well, but further down saying that my Premium membership won't renew automatically next month.

  • I have just received another email from Youtube. I guess I won't have to worry about the YTP Turkiye price increase anymore:

If you want to keep your benefits, it’s easy to restart your membership.

Sorry to bump this thread but did anyone find a solution to this? I just got an email saying I need a Turkish credit card

    • +1

I was able to update my CC details to a new wise card and it accepted it. won't know if it works until Dec 12 to see if it charges me though.

Not sur what I will do if it doesn't. Did look at getting a prepaid CC for one of these countries but it doesn't seem possible. Need a connect in that country you'd trust I think to load a prepaid card for you.
