Lowest price ever according to Camel x3. Reviews appear to be mixed, sounds like earlier ones had issues with the non-stick coating coming off the cooking tray. You are buying off Amazon however so if you do have a problem within 12 months just return it and get a full refund.

Out of stock Only for those who lives in regional. :(

    • Try another browser, still shows in stock.

  • I have this exact model. Works great but, as OP mentions, the insert tray became a rusty mess after a few months. Probably not dishwasher safe.

    • +1

Apparently there was a known faulty batch and you can contact them for a replacement.

      • Worst case scenario, if the coating comes off and you want to keep it rather then return it to Amazon for a refund. You could purchase a replacement tray direct from the manufacturer for around $37 delivered:

Might be hard to justify when that is close to half the price we are purchasing this air fryer for.

        • +6

I think worst case scenario is the possible health effects of Teflon consumption.

    • +1

I'd usually recommend a Phillips, there was a good deal on Amazon not long ago.

I got a sunbeam which is great but have let the copper infused coating go so it's impossible to clean now. Found a replacement part which may be alright for $57 delivered. Amazon Sweden has an aftermarket basket only but probably doesn't ship.

      • +1

Agreed. I was an early adopter and bought one of the very first gen Phillips. I've absolutely abused the hell out of it and shes still powering along.

        • +1

Good work. I noticed AliExpress sell the replacement basket only, may get one as there is nothing wrong with it otherwise.

    • We're loving our Healthy Choice 6.5L glass model.

Dishwasher safe and don't need to stress about teflon issues

      • Isn't there a grill to put the food on? Or does it just sit in a heap on the glass bottom?

        • +2

There's a stainless metal mesh at the bottom

It's heavier, and slightly more dangerous (glass breaking if drop it, no protective cover around glass)

          BUT

It's easier to clean, is doing a better job than our last teflon one, appreciate seeing the food and reminding me when to toss it
I can toss with metal tongs now since not worried about scratching anything

          • -1

@abowen: Oh I didn't know it was stainless steel. Damn, wish I got one.

          Your hands painted on?

      • So I found the same item for $73 on their new "Everyday Rewards Shop", free shipping instead to Metro Melbourne. Also have a presumably targeted offer - 2000 Rewards points if I spend $50 or more.

  • +3

Bought the 8L twin from MyDeal for $78.99 ($84 + $4.99 Del to Sydney + ‘SHOPAPP’ code for $10 discount).

    • Thanks for the heads up, bought the twin from MyDeal too.

    • I cant find it. Can u pls share a link. Thx

    • I ordered the twin 8L for $84 with free postage and 2000 points to Sydney through the new Everyday Rewards Shop (via MyDeal). Thanks to everyone who shared, was chasing an airfryer as a housewarming gift and this looks good 🙂

According to Amazon, the RRP is $179.95 (not $299). All of the recent reviews are excellent though.

  • Thanks op, bought my 1st airfryer. Hope its good.

  • +2

I have this air fryer and we love it.. it's big enough to fit a whole chicken. Cooks perfectly.
We've had it for around 12 months and use it several times a week.

    • +1

      I second this.

      • +1

How? Have you been surveilling Singdog and family?
        lol

    • Including preheating, how long does it take to cook a chook?

  • thanks, grabbed one

  • Do these ever lose their burnt plastic/toxic chemical smell?

I bought one a while ago and ended up returning it as the entire house smelled like fumes.

I even ran it outside a bunch of times to offgas it

    • I havent had that in the two we've owned. Seems something is off

There's also glass (Healthy Choice) and ceramic (Ninja) models you could check out

    • What many may be unaware is that air fryers still need to vent heat/grease smoke/oil particles.
So using in a well ventilated area is still a must.

  • Looks great for the price, im just worried about the "forever chemicals".

    • -2

      Which ones?
The food grade coatings are probably better like the Gold ones, but I'm sure they would have to be safe to sell.

Gonna die of something, and it won't be that.

    • +2

We are too, once our teflon on Auspere started to flake. Got recommended Healthy Choice 6.5L glass model here

Dishwasher safe and don't need to stress about teflon issues

      Loving it

      • This one has an RRP of $125 (currently $98 on Amazon) vs $300 for the Nutribullet. Are they comparable?

      • Looks ok, $89 catch.

It would still have a non-stick inner base to put food on though? Needs to have holes and an air gap for air to circulate.

Be careful don't burn yourself on glass, or drop it.

        • I've done a bit of additional research and it looks like it's much less of an issue than in frying pans, as the former doesn't get as hot. Just watch out for any flaking.

          • @elektron: Yeah ours flaked after about one year, which is quicker than our frying pans. YMMV of course

        • +1

Ok, I've found the a answer - it's 1200 watt vs 1800 watt, so the Nutribullet is 50% more powerful. This is a great deal.

          • +1

@elektron: Think it's a typo, all advertising is 1400watt for Healthy Choice

Max temperature on Nutribullet from what I can find is also 200c

So real test would be to monitor how much power it draws and if the 1800w is just what it's capable of, not what it actually does.

Otherwise my guess it could be something theoretically like the Nutri gets to 200c in 20s while ours is 30s.

Each to their own of course. For me glass > teflon. It'd be nice if the glass model went to 240, but so far I've only seen the Ninja Ceramic ones do that. Maybe its an unsafe temperature for teflon and glass

        • +1

The inner base is what looks like stainless steel metal base, so no contact with teflon

You can burn yourself on glass and metal

Fair point on dropping it like any material. Personally I find it safer than our previous Auspure model that had this push down button that separated the tray from the basket. I'd never buy another model like that again. This Nutribullet thankfully doesnt

          • @abowen:

You can burn yourself on glass and metal

I'm aware of that but most have a plastic shroud protecting when closed.

Glass may be heavy to shake as well.

Anyway nice alternative, I'm just going to replace my basket as it's filthy and hard to clean.

            • @G-rig: Yeah fair enough. We've only had ours a week and no accidents yet

It's definitely a bit heavier than our previous Auspure one BUT it feels easier to hold, better designed handle or weight distribution? Not sure.

We also shake things with tongs now since theres nothing to scratch

One thing with cleaning is this so far has been easier. Our previous metal ones had those vents on the sides that built up with grease that we didnt notice. Took about 30mins of hard scrubbing before getting it to clean, which can't be good for the teflon.

If this dies, I'll be checking out the ceramic models again. Basically no teflon is my highest priority

    • +1

Yep, see my comments above about the offgassing smells

  • +1

had this one for a couple of years, hard to fault

  • +1

Hmm. This one or the ALDI Ambiano model?

    • I had the same thought….

    • +1

I had an ALDI one, was good for 3y+ and for $70 at the time, seems very week compared to my sunbeam. Just have to look at reviews.

      • I got a cheap one from Woolies 4 years ago for about $30. It’s still works fine.
