Lyca Mobile: $14 Cashback on 10GB 28-Day $7.50 SIM or eSIM (New Customers) @ TopCashback AU & ShopBack

1521

TopCashback AU link

ShopBack link

Just saw that both TCB and SB are running the exact same promo, be sure to check with each provider their terms!

$6.50 PROFIT !!!

As usual, be sure to check the terms below (note these are from TCB, but I'd assume they likely apply to both providers)

Cashback terms and exclusions

What will stop me getting my cashback

  • SIM must be activated within 60 days of purchase for cashback to be eligible.

  • Multiple SIM purchases need to be made as separate transactions. If there is more than one SIM in an order, it may result in an untracked purchase and will be ineligible for cashback. The existing customer rate will therefore apply to subsequent orders.

  • Cashback is ineligible on use of any codes not approved and posted by TopCashback.

  • Cashback is ineligible on purchase of gift cards and/or use of gift cards for payment.

  • Cashback is ineligible on purchases made via the retailer's mobile app.

What else is essential

  • Customer status (new or existing) for Lyca Mobile generally entails a new mobile number and/or email address. Lyca Mobile has sole discretion on determining status and acting upon fraudulent and/or excessive transactions as they deem necessary. TopCashback has no control over this.

  • eSIMs are eligible for cashback, but must be activated within 60 days of purchase.

  • Most retailers calculate cashback based on purchase amount excluding GST, other taxes, and delivery fees. Your cashback may report lower than expected due to this.

  • Always return to TopCashback and click through via the pink cashback button to the retailer's website for each new transaction.

  • Ensure the TopCashback link is the last one used to visit the retailer's website prior to completing your purchase.

Good to know

  • Ensure you disable plugins such as Honey, AdBlock, uBlock, Pi-hole & VPNs prior to clicking/tapping from TopCashback as they will prevent your order from tracking.

  • If you cancel / return / exchange / modify your completed order, it will no longer be eligible for cashback and will be declined in your account.

What to do and when

  • Missing cashback claims must be lodged within 100 days of purchase.

Enjoy! :D

          • @tightarse: TA, would I be counted as a new customer for this deal if I ordered a SIM from that SB deal and haven't activated it? TIA

      • To clear things out can you tell us how top cashback (not Lyca) decides a new customer like what's coded in your system, is it to check for same email and number or both? And for subsequent rejections is it checked by matching id verification details of existing customers?

        • TCB doesn't determine that. It's Lyca that determines if you're a new customer or not.

Customer status (new or existing) for Lyca Mobile generally entails a new mobile number and/or email address. Lyca Mobile has sole discretion on determining status and acting upon fraudulent and/or excessive transactions as they deem necessary. TopCashback has no control over this.

    • @AsukaST @mantra thanks for sharing.

NOVICE: I know you're not going to read it & appreciate the salient-points….only to find out 100d later that you've stuffed-up…somewhere 😭

  • I have added the esim profile but says not registered on the n/w, also says unknown number under the esim profile, been over an hour already. Anyone?

    • +2

I think you still need to fill out their form at https://registration.lycamobile.com.au/en/activate-sim using the details in their email to properly activate it, even though the QR code flow through the phone claims it does an activation. I had the same thing, completed the form and had the number assigned and network start working within a minute or two.

      • Yeah I did that, although their half ar*ed email have no such instructions. Registered from their website and at the end saying it was successful but nothing after that. I called them and they said although the system returned the successful registration there was some issue activating it.

After 45 mins long hold got it activated. Lyca has a very loooong way to go..

    • My esim activation failed via QR code "Contact Vodaphone".
I tried the web activation page and that failed during ID check "Real MSISDN Allocation Failed in HLR".
I have sent an email to CS.

      • +1

        Also got the same error.

According to the customer service rep, that error was because you scanned the QR code before activating the SIM.

Customer service rep was not able to do anything and had to issue a refund…

        • +1

Wow. Their process is crap then. Why send an order confirmation with use the QR code and not even mention the activation link….

          • +1

@roughana: That what I said to the cs rep.

Email mentions nothing about having to register first (or even link the activation url)…

        • Got the same error and I didn't scan the QR. Just got off the phone to support and they activated over the phone @roughana

      • Same here. Any one have a solution?

  • I purchased through TCB on my mobile using Chrome browser. Paid with Paypal. Tracked in 9 mins. Thanks for the fast tracking!

  • +1

My eSIM didn’t activate from the QR so I deleted it and activated the eSIM online which worked. Now the original eSIM link has expired and I can’t find a way to get a new one. Any ideas? I can’t even login to try do this or cancel the autorenew as it needs an SMS one time password from the new number

    • Call them?

    • same issue, spoke with them twice. They cancelled my number and provided refund

    • +1

Once you delete the SIM from your phone you no longer can get it again

    • It just happened to me, QR code was scanned and eSIM activated but no number show up and can't be used, I delete it and try to scan again and saw the message as yours, and can't find a solution.

    • You need to get support to reissue you a new eSIM

      • Confirmed that this works. The trick is activating the SIM on the website before adding the eSIM to your phone. I regret doing this it was a mess in the end

  • Purchase it through the TCB app and after the payment went through, the app crashed and I had to re-login. Does it mean that it wont be tracked ?

  • How long is tracking taking for people

  • +2

bought it via shopback almost 12 hours ago, haven't tracked yet

  • @tightarse bought this morning, but still not track, pls help

    • Did you buy through TopCashback or ShopBack?
It seems that TopCashback is tracking but not ShopBack.

      • Topcashback, not shopback

        • That's odd. Do you mean it's not showing in your account earnings?

          • @trixieb: yes, I will just wait for the end of day. thanks

            • @fatgooseGYM: Mine is not tracking either. CR app is flawless but TCB never tracks for me!

              • @Windows7forever: Tracked fine for me through TCB with their browser extension on the desktop.

                • @Mibo: @fatgooseGYM @Windows7forever

Hi. TCB tracking for Lyca is no longer than 30 minutes. Please check your earnings page in case it's there but haven't received a tracking email. Failing that, you'll need to lodge a missing cashback claim after 7 days. I can tell you there's no tracking issue as we can see many hundreds of successful orders for this promo. As an aside, do you have any AdBlockers or firewalls on your wifi router or on any of your browsers (mobile or desktop)? Even a VPN can kill tracking. Thank you.

                  • @tightarse: Forgot to mention - if you don't want to go through the claims process, I believe cancelling your order is quite straightforward. Cheers.

                  • @tightarse: Using TCB app on android. Not sure if it opens in Brave browser mobile. Potentially ad blocker causing it. Claim lodging is pretty fast. I'll do that after 7 days

                    • @Windows7forever: It'll use whatever your phones default browser is.

                    • @Windows7forever: If Brave browser (adblocker built-in) is your default browser, you need to change the settings to ensure successful tracking. Otherwise just use Chrome mobile browser for cashback transactions.

                    • @Windows7forever: If your default browser is Brave browser, in the Settings - Brave shields and privacy:
✓ Tap "Block trackers and ads": Allow all trackers and ads
✓ Auto-redirect tracking URLs: maybe better OFF (read the description)
✓ Block Cookies: Allow all cookies
                      ✓ Block Fingerprinting: OFF
✓ Prevent fingerprinting via language settings: OFF
                      ✓ Content Filtering: disable ALL
✓ Use secure DNS: OFF or Use your current service provider (not NextDNS, Adguard DNS etc.)
✓ Block cookie consent notices: OFF
✓ Send a do not track request: OFF

Settings - Brave Firewall + VPN : OFF

Settings - Site settings, under Content -Third party cookies: Allow third party cookies

This is the reason why I always use Chrome mobile browser as it is simpler and easier to get successful tracking.

Brave browser has built-in adBlocker (Ublock Origin). In the Settings under "Media", I know that watching YouTube is better in this browser or Firefox browser (with Ublock Origin). We can play YouTube in the background (like music) while using other apps. YouTube Shorts, recommended content, and YouTube distracting elements can be blocked in Brave browser (Under Media in the Settings).

                      • @neoleo: I just turn the brave shields slider off.
Works with shopback, don’t know the others.

Tcb app has been fine for me. Touchwood

                  • @tightarse: Your effort is noted.

As per AsukaST comments, maybe 'it's an issue from Lyca side rather than SB'…Lyca-system can't handle the volume, not to mention those who ARE risk buying 2+ sims for profit 🤑.

Just tested a few-times via Android-APP-Topcashback & then onto Lyca-page…SOMETIME it's slow. At early-hours this morning, the system was speedy & the upvote went from 40+ to now 125+

                    Good luck to all.

@Windows7forever: Topcashback’s app is pretty bad compared with the other two.

    • Did you use android or iOS or windows desktop?

      Read this:
      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/15885873/redir

      • thx, it shows tracked now

  • Can someone confirm if this working for porting an existing number across? Or only if they allocate a new number to you?

  • With Lyca, when the number expires, how long more is it going to be active to still receive texts or calls?

    • +2

Lycamobile automatically deactivates SIM cards that haven't been used for calls or texts for over 90 days. As a result, such prepaid SIM cards can't be reactivated, and the associated mobile number becomes unavailable.
      https://www.lycamobile.com.au/en/how-to/i-have-not-used-my-l…

      • Does the 90 days start after the 28 days ends?

        • +3

          Disconnected numbers

Your Lyca Mobile number will be disconnected if you do not recharge your plan or purchase a top-up
for ninety (90) consecutive days from either the activation or expiry dates of your last recharge,
          whichever is the latest.

We will send you SMS notifications at 60 days and 80 days to remind you before disconnection. If no
action is taken within this period, your agreement will be automatically terminated, and this
termination will be considered initiated by you.

          Quarantine period

Once your Lyca Mobile number is disconnected, it will be in quarantine for 180 days. During this
period, you will not be able to hold Rights of Use for your number, however, it cannot be assigned to
          anyone else.

If the number is within the 180-day quarantine period, in some circumstances, we may be able to
reconnect a disconnected number. Please call customer support on 1300 854 607 for assistance.

    For anyone activating eSIM

Activate your SIM BEFORE scanning the QR Code.

    • I actually scaned the qr code, and get esim installed yesterday, then realized that I have to activate the sim using the information they provided, lucky I didnt delete the esim, so it worked after activation. Yeah the whole process is a mess, and I still can not port in my number, contacted CS, they only provided what is already on their website.

      • Lucky you were able to activate your SIM after scanning the QR code.

I kept getting 'Real MSISDN Allocation Failed in HLR' error when trying to activate. Called CS and they said they aren't able to do anything and just issued a refund…

    • I only activated after installing esim scanning QR code. No issues, only that there were no instructions

    Not tracked for shopback….

    • Mine wasn’t tracked for TCB

      • Worse, mine was tracked by TCB but later declined for no good reason :'(

        • I can't see a single order declined from this promo. Kindly re-check your earnings page for orders on Nov 5 and message me your TCB email address if your transaction is declined. Thanks.

    • @R n b @StarPlatinum I just cancelled my untracked ShopBack order by calling Lyca. Maybe the best option when it hasn't tracked.

      • Mine has not tracked as well.. Not sure if it worth the time to chase up the untracked order.

  • I ordered mine yesterday..with only 0.5c profit from top cashback…and just saw this deal..tried to call and talk to the Customer Service to cancel the order…The CS seems to give me total BS that he can't cancel the order since it is dispatched (highly unlikely in less than 24 hours) and have to send email to the customer service team to cancel the order and get the refund..which will take a long time 5-7 business days…

Any suggestion should I take the risk and cancel the order and than order again from topcashback with higher profit …or is simply not worth it with lyca..?

    • You seriously wanting to do all that for $6?

    • +1

      Dont waste your time

  • "Ensure the TopCashback link is the last one used to visit the retailer's website prior to completing your purchase."

When ordering I have to put my email address which needs to be verified by entering the passcode they sent. Had to check my email which means opening a new window & moving away from Lyca website. Does that mean my purchase won't get tracked?

    • +2

No, unless you click other advertising links that'll be fine.

      • Good to hear, thanks! Never had to verify email/open new window while ordering Boost sim so this is new for me.

  • +1

My cashback from ShopBack has just tracked at $0

    • same, I think I ordered too early when TC and SB both were having issue tracking it correctly. Hi @gotyourback I think it happened to a few of us who ordered around 12-1am, appreciate if you can have a look, thank you.

    • +3

same, just got tracked from shopback for $0, ordered it last night, about 14 hours ago

PS: just submitted a support ticket, hopefully the right amount will be tracked

      • Just to be clear here, I tried double dipping with this one. I already bought one yesterday from TC ($8 cashback) and then ordered a second one(using a different email address and number) from ShopBack ($14 cashback) earlier this morning.

It’s tracked at $0 so I just went ahead and emailed Lyca to cancel my order, wouldn’t bother Shopback with anything.

      • +1

Same. $0 Shopback. Shame on you Shopback. This is the second time ( last time was amaysm suddenly tracked with a lower cashback)

    • +1

Why would anyone go through SB instead of TCB?

  • +3

SB tracked at $14 around 3:45pm for an order around 8:45am. Slow, but well within the 2 day window.

  • So if I order two sims using same TCB account but activate with two new numbers and two different emails I'll get both cashback?

  • Hmmm do I risk trying to double up….. Already got the TCB, do I try with SB as well?

    • +1

I wouldnt risk it personally. They might cross check new customer details in their database.

      • Yeah, I was on the fence but will take this as a sign of things to come. Used to be on every boost profit deal, now seems Lyca and Amaysim might be taking over the last week or two.

  • +2

For anyone that got failed tracking, here is how I do it from my android phone:
I always use Chrome mobile browser for cashback transactions, never through cashback apps.

In Chrome browser - Settings - Privacy and security, I set:
    ✓ Third-party cookies are allowed.
✓ Set a 'Do Not Track' request as Off.
✓ Use secure DNS as Automatic.
✓ I always turn off my adblocker/vpn/nextdns and use Chrome mobile browser (does not have addons) for these cashback purchases.
✓ Sign in first into Paypal in the browser, then sign in to cashback websites and start shopping.

I haven't tried using my iPad or windows laptop for cashback transactions, need to change settings for iPad to ensure successful tracking in Safari browser for example.

Hope this helps anyone next time.

    • Great advice, thank you!

    • Sign in first into Paypal in the browser

Why is Paypal safer than credit-card payment ? Thanks.

      • +1

Merchants don't get the real card details, same with Google/Apple Pay. Safer for us. Reduce the risk from data breach. Imagine when you have to get card replacement when data breach occurs.

    • I will try this next time

  • Where do I find my PUK and ICCID if I don't have a physical SIM and am with Boost Mobile?

  • ordered sim paid with paypal, hope it tracks 🤞
