I have the earbuds version of QC ultra. Music sound is great, but calls are pretty bad. They picked up background noise, so the other person can't hear you.

Bose lost me when I couldn't reliably have a phone conversation using my QC45 II. Happy with the XM4 now but miss the button on the headphones to change/cycle the connected device.
and here I was thinking it was just me that had months of frustration with my QC45's before giving up. hell I even had them replaced by Bose.
How is the ANC of XM4? On par with Bose QC45 II?
I think so. I used to be on plane flight every week for 3+ years and I never noticed any difference between them in terms of ANC.

@Antebellum Price match to $449 in store after showing the rep the final price of the headphones in the Amazon cart, then I bought the Bupa giftcards and paid with those.

Still too expensive
Call quality isn’t great and had to return two before selling the most recent replacement on fa3ebook marketplace. Bose simply won’t admit the mic quality sucks.
Did they accept your return and refund you?
Same problem, people report sound drops in and out when I use mine for calls. Music and ANC is good so I'll keep them and use my airpods for calls, but it's quite disappointing to buy a top of the line product and have this issue.

Can anyone compare the durability of the retractable hinges on these QC and the XM4?
I had the XM3 which the hinges are made of plastic. Needless to say they get brittle and break after 1 year of daily commute. Work just fine with black duct tape around it tho. Barely visible as well unless you are in 1 meter radius.
Sony xm5 definitely better ANC than Bose 700 nc
Black Friday has kicked in and Amazon has removed pretty much all the Bose QC Ultra discounts. Wonder if I shot myself in the foot waiting to think it'd get cheaper.
