Ohh nice, I can see if my currently banned phone will work on the Voda network. Cost me 50c (hopefully) to revive my $2k ewaste brick

  • 60 days nice, but what's "relapsed" in 4. mean?

    • from dictionary: "a deterioration in someone's state of health after a temporary improvement.
"he responded well to treatment, but then suffered a relapse"

Anyone know if this is a good (or bad) option to use when porting out of Boost before porting back in to Boost?

Just use optus 7 day free esim trial offer

Haha, checking out this deal for the same reason 😂

It should work but the porting process is not smooth in my experience. Be prepared to contact support and potentially get stuck for some time. Better off waiting for amaysim deals with cashback or Lebara from supermarkets.

      • Interesting, thanks. Is the issue with porting on the Lyca side or Boost side? And for porting to Lyca or out of Lyca?

        • It’s all Lyca. The porting turned out to be a separate process to activation. This was over six months ago tho, there’s a tiny chance they have fixed it.

  • Purchased 1, tracked $7. Thanks.
Just in time since there is lack of Boost and Amaysim free sim deals.
Not sure how they define "new customer" but I've never purchased from them before.

  • their port in process bothers…

    • what is their port out process like though?

      • Port out is ok… I had to call to port in my number..

  • do we need to keep the service active, i.e. not port away, until we receive the cashback like Boost ?

Their porting process is ridiculously bad. The automated WILL fail and you got no way of restarting it again - which inevitably means needing to call them. Their process also requires activating a temporary number first, and so there will be a gap period between when the temp number is in use and untill you get around to call them, and wait for porting to go through.

From my past experience (twice) with them I can confirm Lyca is definitely not worth your time.

    • This is why I use a dual sim phone.
Regular number on $10/365 days Amaysim PAYG, or a calls only plan
and get a new 2nd sim for data every month.

      • That's actually brilliant. If I wasn't so lazy I might actually do it but I'm happy with the yearly plan.

Thanks for reminding me, was about to purchase, but will wait for another offer.

Friends don't let friends use Lyca. Porting is stupidly bad.

      • I feel like their slightly cheaper rates is just getting users to beta test their half-cooked platform. If they ever get around to building it right then price will have to go up then.

    Bought and tracked. Thanks

  • Will this require card or payment information to activate?

    • You will need a form of ID, only payment info for auto recharge

      • Can you activate without auto recharge?

Good cashback deal but Lyca is real bad. Would not bother.

  • Is eSIM activation supposed to take over an hour?

    2. Multiple SIM purchases need to be made as separate transactions. … … … … The new customer rate will apply to subsequent orders.

Is it safe to say that we can buy as many SIMs as we want (in separate, sequential transactions) and they will each be eligible for the 'new customer' $7 cashback?

    • +2

Cheers for spotting that, and definitely a no. The typo's been reported to fix the OP. Has also been updated on TopCashback. It now reads:

Multiple SIM purchases need to be made as separate transactions. If there is more than one SIM in an order, it may result in an untracked purchase and will be ineligible for cashback. The existing customer rate will therefore apply to subsequent orders.

      Thanks again 👍

TA could you please kindly define "new customer"?
        Is it,
        1. Different phone number, or
        2. Different email address hence new Lyca account, or
        3. Different registered address, or
        4. Different First name, surname?

        • +1

Yeah this reads funny. "new to the network that has not previously had a Lyca Mobile service" would indicate that even if you ported out and back in you are not new. I need 2 Sim cards but seems like I am going to need a new email and presumably when I activate, if it asks for ID which it should that would also invalidate the New customer terms if both are registered to me?

  • Here to share the real port in steps for Lyca.
    1. Follow the offical instruction to port in your number.
    2. Registration successfully failed.
    3. Gratz, You get a new number
    4. Call them and wait 12 hours
