Scoot is back with a big sale on, primarily early 2025, but also some Nov dates from Perth.

There are actually loads of destinations but I've done a search of some of the closer/cheaper/popular ones and listed the best I found below.

Comparable deals:
- If you're after Japan deals, the Jetstar deal is probably a better option.
- For Chinese cities, def compare with Hainan
- Some other Bali flights might be cheaper on Jetstar/Batik depending on dates
- For Hong Kong, check out Hainan as well

All prices are return. Scoot has 787 Dreamliners for long haul and mostly A320/321 Neo for shorter distances.

Flew Scoot a couple of months ago, those 787's are really nice! Take a small blanket or wear a jumper for overnight though I got a bit cold and nearly had to buy a blanket - and the extra leg room upgrade is worth it.

  • I am looking to organise return flights from Cebu to Sydney for 5 people, however the cost on the most cost-effective dates for Sydney to Cebu is significantly greater. Any tips on finding cheap flights the other way around this time?

TIL I learn that Ipoh has an airport…

    • Yeah me too. Ipoh's got good food too. Easy to get to KL via train (2.5 hours) from there, or around a similar time to Penang.

      • Even better for people who wanted to travel to North. Cheap flights to Ipoh.

Scoot has 787 Dreamliners for long haul and mostly A320/321 Neo for shorter distances.

Appreciate your detail about this. I have certainly learnt my lesson about doing research into the type of plane (thanks Virgin Australia and their 9hr flight to Japan on a single aisle 737, never again)

    • They have a few Embraer E190s as well.

We flew to Europe with Scoot last month, it was a very basic but pleasant flight. 787 Dreamliner with nicer seats however there were no screens (so have some downloaded movies on your tablets/phones). Food was good (had to purchase seperately). We had a good deal for school holidays (less than 1,000$ for Europe return), can't really complain about the facilities being basic lol. Flight was obviously very long but that fact won't change whether you fly with Singapore Airlines or scoot, especially when both have same Dreamliners. But if you fancy having a screen in front of you, and better food options then scoot isn't probably for you. Best thing about scoot is 10 kg cabin allowance which worked out a treat. We (2 adults & 2 kids) ended up not purchasing any check-in luggage and had plenty left of our 40 kg cabin allowance (as we wanted to travel light - carrying massive luggage around in Europe, especially when using public transport is PITA). And they never checked or weighed our luggage (as Jetstar does disgustingly).

    No love for BNE 😞

    • You could try and snag a BNE-SYD return separately and book SYD return with scoot.

      Might still work out cheaper

They don't operate from QLD anymore. That sucks.

Been flying with Scoot last few times and they have been good, hence don't want to even risk and try other budget airlines at all. Really want to go Singapore and stay there longer, but their hotel prices are super ripoff expensively crazy!

    • -3

What you lose on hotels you save on cheap food imo

      • +1

Food not really that cheap there, unless you only eat at those hawkers markets, I went to some restaurants sites and checked their menu prices, with current shitty exchange rate, they are actually more expensive than aussie here, not worth it …

        • +2

I don't understand why you wouldn't eat local food if you're in a foreign country. Each to their own though.

Isn't its always SALE in off-season or during school terms ? What good are these sales anyway when majority don't want to fly?

    • Who doesn't want to fly?

    bring back GC flights

    I miss Ipoh chicken rice.

  • Just got an email from AirAsia, 'something big is coming'!, so they might have a big sale soon as well.

    • seems like economy really slowing down, and less people travelling for holidays now, we prob will see cheaper tickets coming up for next year!

  • What's the water situation with scoot? I heard they don't even provide water?

    • Correct no water - nor blankets or screens, which I like if its keeping these prices low. They're the budget arm of Singapore Airlines. We took water with us by filling our water bottles up after getting through security + our own tablets etc. Kids did get complimentary fun packs though.

  • I've flown Scoot, perfectly decent Low Cost Carrier flight. The only thing I really wish they would do is bring water around more often (not just for purchase), those 8 hour flights with just 1-2 cans of drink (not necessarily cold) are tougher because they don't.

You do arrive at a pretty late hour in Singapore so many things are closed. But if your main aim is 'get there safe' then this is fine.

If you want frills and more service you can fly the parent (Singapore Airlines) and many others that go direct to your desired destination.

    • The only thing I really wish they would do is bring water around more often (not just for purchase), those 8 hour flights with just 1-2 cans of drink (not necessarily cold) are tougher because they don't.

This sentence is unclear - are you saying you can't purchase drinks whenever you want to?
