Homer, have you been up all night eating Haldiram's Frozen Tandoori Garlic Naan?

    • +21

      Dough!

  • +12

Protip, stick these in your toaster to heat up to avoid having to use the stove.

We have these with curry takeaway rather than pay $9 for a garlic Naan. These aren't as good but at $1 vs $9 these will do.

    • +15

1 takeaway naan costs you $9? Geez, I've seen $6 but that's bonkers

    • +1

I do them on a frypan. Agree that I wouldn't use the oven - too much trouble.

    • AirFryer is the best option as the element does the same job as a Tandoor!!!

  • +1

    How do you cook these?

    • +5

If you bothered to click on the go to product you would see

refer to instructions on back of back

      Oh wait… 🤣

    • +6

Stick the frozen Naan in your toaster for about 90 seconds.

    • -1

Microwave for 40-50sec depending on wattage.

    • +8

Throw them on a heated flat pan for a few minutes and keep flipping every 60-90 seconds, heat until its hot on both sides, starts to go brown as well if you leave it too long and becomes slightly crisp. If you leave it too long they'll burn…….. speaking from experience 🥲

    • +1

Butter both sides and chuck em in a flat sandwich press! That's the fastest nicest way I've made frozen roti anyway, but they're not the same thing at all… But now I'm really hungry for a tandoori garlic naan chucked in a sandwich press with butter, so THANKS EVERYONE!!!

  • +8

Once empty remember to use the bag for garbage, don't just chuck it in the bin.

  • Anybody know the size/diameter?

    • +12

      we still talking about naan?

      • +1

Lol man! 😂 One of the very few times I have literally lol'ed

      • +10

        naan of your business!

    • +1

They're not a very regular shape. Think 25cm x 15cm in sort of a rounded off triangle shape I'd estimate.

      • Thanks! Larger than my pan

        • +1

Now that you mention that, maybe slightly less than 25cm as I don't recall having any trouble fitting them in my 26cm pan, you certainly wouldn't even think about trying to fit two in a 26cm pan. So 20+cm along the longer side.

it's called girth nowadays mate … not diameter ;-)

      • -1

        ChatGPT:

When referring to naan, the term diameter is typically used to describe the size across the widest part of the bread. Girth generally refers to the measurement around an object, which isn’t commonly applied to naan since it is a flatbread. So, if you’re measuring naan, you would use diameter.

Girth is essentially another term for circumference when referring to the measurement around an object. In the context of round objects, like a circular loaf of bread, circumference is the distance around the edge, while diameter is the distance across the center. So, girth can be thought of as the measurement of the "fullness" around the object.

  • Why is this being posted on the last day :/

    • +4

Its the first day! Available until next Tuesday

      • Oh wow I thought today was Tuesday lol, thanks!

      • Well that was boggling compared to Wednesdays cycles

  • tbh naan is nothing without great curry on the side. preferably 3 or 4 different curry’s.

best local Indian place closed down years ago early covid I think. next closest thing is paparich which was always $$$ and went way down in quality and quantity.

  • +4

Perfect, have a how can she slap marathon planned with some mates on the weekend.

  • Any garlic and cheese naan recommended? 🧀🥖

    • +1

These come in garlic as well, can then throw a slice of cheese on them or split them open and put the cheese in, very good either way

  • +4

16 naan Jeremy?! Are you insane?!

    • Lol, beat me to it. 4x4 naan Jeremy?

    • +1

I went to the store, but there was naan!! :(

      • So, you got naan

      • +1

Last time it was half price had to visit 4-5 days in a row and finally found some in stock on the Sunday/Monday before the deal went away

        • You can also call and ask if they have stock, I had to call 2 places before I found some :D

  • +1

Haldiram's used to have Dal Makhani - in the Coles Frozen section - that was gtreat - even better than what you get in most indian restaurents. that seems to have disappeared now.

    • I take the Haldiram meals to work for lunches (have a supply of them in a drawer at work). I can still get them but I have to go to an indian grocery store. It took me a while to find one that had them consistently. I like the paneer makhani.

For some reason I read 7kg for $1.28. No cap!!!

  • +2

Just bake it for 4 or 5 min in air fryer and it tastes same as the restaurant naan

  • I saw 1 pack today but I didn't buy it because it's so big I don't have space for it in my freezer

    • your freezer must already be almost full?

      • Unfortunately yes

    • You can separate them as it has packaging for every naan bread inside the pack. I just purchased 2 now, hopefully behalf will accommodate all inside the freezer 🤣

  • +2

Maybe people dont have standards on Naans but i have tried some frozen Naans and the brands i tried were absolutely atrocious. While parathas and chapatis or rotis i have come across some decent and some not so. but I havent come across even a mediocre frozen naan yet, I am not sure if i have tried this brand before. Are people saying this brand is actually decent?

    • +1

Yes this brand is the best in India for sure & they have allot of options including different types of sweets which you can buy at Coles or Indian Stores.

    • +1

I agree. I bought these a while ago at half price to give them a try and I had low expectations, but they are actually really good and I stock up on these instead of buying fresh naan now when I order take out curry.

      • Thanks guys, I missed it this time but will try it out and let my folks know to try out this brand. The other brands we tried were so bad, it was better to just eat the food with plain bread.
