    Have the goflex myself and u can definitely have multiple streaming. Works like a media server with built in wifi.

      Upto 8 actually with the firmware upgrade. Might be slow thou trying to get 8 devices running.

  yah bought it from amazon but was doa beeping beeping and more beeping. contacted amazon and they referred me to seagate warranty I've sent the drive for them to replace/look at..

  correction $109 but that was in Nov. unit works well after Fw update which allowed passthru to internet. (only caution is that it does not transcode!)

    i would suggestif your using an ipad. pair it with ace player and let the app transcode. you loose the passthru net thou.

    You already have one? How is it working out for you? What's good and bad with it, if you don't mind? Can you use your own mobile media player wrt the stuff you have stored on it? Can you store generic stuff?

      tv shows. no problem. download using included usb3.0 <-> sata cable from PC. drag and drop files into the drive just like any usb device. charging is easy. no issue. pdf, cbz, everything you throw at the ipad, if the ipad has an app can handle it, it is ok to store on this drive.
      when I started, I was streaming while on the bus. this goes on for a while until I worked out, I could just download the show onto the ipad and then turn off the goflex.
      the native goflex app does not decode shows for you. use aceplayer. likewise, if you store loads and loads of comics on the goflex, use comiczeal to read them. is a great little storage device. very handy. I am very tempted to get a second one.

        Have you tried the internets passthrough?

        How good is their mobile app for going through heaps of files/media? I take it it doesn't just network mount the drive on the phone (which would be just too awesome :).

        the internet passthru does work. my usage pattern has been to use the goflex to hold the bulky files I want. once I am done with them I switch off the goflex to save battery. I then use my $50 LG optimus (ozbargaain from flybuy), and $20 amaysim datapack (ozbargain also) and tether the ipad to the internet. so different SSID. one for goflex, one for mobile internet (same ssid for my home wireless).
