Thanks OP, though I reckon I might skip the S24 coming from the S23.

Doesn't look like it's worth upgrading, plus the lack of bass in the S24 seems less than ideal.

    • ofcourse jumping from S23 to S24 is not recommended. my dad and I have S21, so its good jump. 3 year cycle should follow for current phone gen. any longer is just a compromise.

Why does it even need to be said it's not worth the upgrade if you're on an s23?
I'll save you the time for next year, it's not worth getting the s25 if you've got an s23

      I've got 4 gigabyte , beat that !

I paid $858.80 from Samsung edu store purchased via app (extra 5%) traded in Galaxy S9+ for $45 & received $100 loyalty voucher from online chat.

    • Did you just ask for a voucher and done?

      • +1

Yes, I asked via their WhatsApp chat. You need to start from the website first and then they will generate link to continue through WhatsApp.

    • I have the loyalty voucher for trade in and .gov store access (same as edu pricing) but seem to only get the edu/gov discount via the website or the app discount on the app. Could you share the steps to getting your price please?

      • Did you choose trade in? The code will only work for trade in.

        • Yes to trading in. Looks like you can access edu pricing but not corporate pricing (presumably applies to gov too) through the app. Thanks for responding!

  • Google maps doesn't calibrate compass well, sometimes it dead swivels a few circles before settling on the wrong direction unless I recalibrate every 10 minutes. I've read some similar complaints on Reddit, but idk if it's just a minority

Otherwise it's a darn good phone

    • Just start walking - as soon as you're moving, you can immediately see what direction you're travelling in, no matter whats going on with the compass.

      • Yeah but it's plenty annoying that the arrow points the wrong way for a long time. Samsung/Google, am I really walking backwards? That's why AI will never take over the world!

        • I don't think this is a Samsung issue - pretty much every Android phone I've ever owned has done the same thing 😁
