It seems like the cheapest ($99) branded (Dirt Devil) robotic vacuum cleaner. So maybe an excellent deal for robot-vacuum-first-timers. Details from the catalogue: 14.4V Robotic Vacuum Cleaner. It possibly works like the Aldi Robotic Vacuum. Note: no listing of expiry date anywhere in the catalogue so I made it up, but did state "Printed for 12/12/12".

Not a vacuum cleaner. From what I've heard, not even a very good sweeper.
Sorry guys, I am going by the catalogue which says it is a 'vacuum cleaner'.
No probs, you weren't to know… its Bunnings not avertising their goods correctly. I was going to buy it myself until I noticed it wasnt actually a vacuum.
if it's anything like my normal dirt devil vacuum cleaner, it will suck a lot, and by that I mean it doesn't suck very much. It's almost totally useless on carpet
This one won't suck at all. It ain't a vac.
that's why it sucks! :P LOL
Actually, it is a vacuum cleaner. I opened a box at Bunnings and read the instructions and it has a similar set up to the Aldi one - which I bought a few weeks ago. it has a small recepticle for dirt in the middle of the unit (take off top cover). However, I haven't been all that impressed with the aldi one so i wouldn't expect much from this one. the aldi one is a 'random'/dumb cleaner which can get stuck on rugs or small things left lying around - like lego bricks. perhaps better off with the roomba model that uses a camera to track the ceiling to know where it's been before. then again, the hassle of moving all furniture and picking everything up off the floor to ensure you get a good clean has convinced me I could do a better job myself in about 5 mins where the robot takes an hour. forget about it for carpets. they're passable though on wooden/hard floors.
I saw these in Bunnings over the weekend, stacked up in the centre aisle. Its a robotic 'sweeper' not a vacuum.
