Great price. Defo get the $89 32Gug upgrade, it’ll fly!

    • +3

You don't get the OLED display if you add the 32GB ram. Only the 16GB version has it. You can check when you click "View your specs"

        That's sneaky! Poor form.

  • Is Ideapad the same as Yoga?

    • +3

IdeaPad is a consumer/productivity, 'aesthetic' brand for lenovo. Yoga is more prosumer/portability, and has more 14" convertible/touchscreens, and Thinkpad is the 'power' brand.

They blur the lines on them though and you can get some devices with both, like the IdeaPad Yoga 5i.

      • Thanks for clarifying. I asked that question because OP had the heading as Yoga Pro 5, but the link was to an Ideapad Pro 5.

        • Ah yes, I see elsewhere in here that they clarified that after another comment pointed it out.

TL;DR it doesn't really matter as long as you're going on specs, but good to know nonetheless so you know your ballpark!

  • +1

That is not the Yoga series… It is the Ideapad series laptop unless you have put the wrong link

    • +1

Thanks for pointing it out, fixed.

Also make sure to check the screen if you are upgrading the ram as it seems to change the screen specification for some reason.

    • Good catch!

  • Anyone saw the screen in the real life?
Which is better glare OLED or matte IPS?
(Usually OLED is better, but just hate glare screens on laptops)

    • -1

For what it's worth I have the 14 inch OLED, it has very significant glare.

    • +1

Its only FHD IPS compare to this 2.8K OLED

      • +1

For what it is worth…It is listed as 2K OLED

    • +2

That is a thick gaming laptop, with a very power inefficient CPU and inferior screen. If you want a thin laptop with a power efficient CPU, this deal is a better option.

      • +2

Additionally this laptop also has USB4 if you want to use a more powerful eGPU.

    • thanks for the info!

  • Upgrade ram to 32gb and lose the OLED for an IPS display what a rip off.

    • -3

Just DIY an extra 16GB. No need to lose anything.

      • +5

I mean, if you can unsolder the ram it comes with and secure compatible modules to solder back on, sure. For most of us that's not really an option.

    • Isn't anti glare IPS a better option for those who hate glare screens?

    • Wow that's really sneaky… good thing you said something, was thinking this was decent for an OLED laptop with 32gb ram but F dat

  • How can this cost less to make then the iPhone 16 Pro Max 1TB at $2800.

    • markup ;)

    • My missus told me smaller == more expensive.

      • +1

😔 sigh, I apologise in advance for the joke,

So is your missus saying you were expensive to purchase?

        …. Again I couldn't resist loll

    • Don't fret, the same level puter with a slightly bitten apple logo on it will set you back 6k… Making the pro max ultra a steal … Also if you get 32gigs of RAM, in today's Apple to PC exchange rate that's easily 64gigs of RAM.

  • When does this coupon code expire? Also is the previous one with the 32 jigglabytes of ram and without the graphics card still alive? I wish Lenovo told us when the damn deal expires

  • anyone know the wattage of the 4050 graphics?

  • BTW for those who don't need discrete VGPU
IdeaPad Slim 5 (16", Gen 9) AMD is also on sale and can combone 32Gb with OLED screen if I'm not missing something
(though you need to build custom config and add all the options)

    • Have you got a link please?

      • +1

oh, sorry, it is on Lenovo Edu store only
        https://www.lenovo.com/au/edu/education/en/p/laptops/ideapad…

        • thanks, cancelled previous order, and pick this one as I like the oled.

          • @paddywide: I'm hesitant, I hate Glare screen. Even considering OLED 50 nit brighter… I suspect on a sunny day you will see yours reflection rather than the picture on the screen 😔

            • @kanu666: most of the usage of a laptop will be indoor, I don't mind. Also it can upgrade to add finger reader. It's for my son.
