Belly Me Sleep Well Probiotic 60ml - 2 for $6 (Usually $4.90 Each) @ Coles

190

For those who struggle to fall asleep and stay asleep. These little probiotics for sleep are amazing. They have other types for stress, relaxation, muscle build etc. The sleep ones have served me very well on a few crappy nights.

Those who struggle to sleep, will know it’s hard to get good sleep products that work, may not suit everyone.

  • Are they in the refrigerated section?

I've never seen them at Coles.

    • +1

Nope, every time i have grabbed them, they are in the 2nd isle top shelf (maybe the heath section part). As you walk up the isle about 1 metre in on the left.

    Ingredients
Water, Papaya, Vegetable glycerol, Natural berry flavour, Maqui Berry, Citric acid, Sour cherry, Humulus lupulus (Hops) fruit, Lactobacillus plantarum L-137, Potassium sorbate, Sodium benzoate, Stevia, Pomegranate seed extract.

    "The probiotic is cursed"
    "That's bad "
"But the product contains 10 Billion cells of Lactobacillus plantarum"
    "That's good!"
"But it also contains Sodium benzoate" [confused silence]……. "That's bad"
    "Can I go now?"

  • What do these taste like?

    • I've only tried the "Probiotic + Energy Fuel" and it smelt bad, but tasted a lot better.

    • Tastes like grape and blackcurrant

  • does it really work? been waking up middle of the night or too early and its ruining my sleep.

    • +1

      Unlikely.

But try it anyway, you never know.

Try ashwaganda tablets. They destress you so that you can sleep well.

      • Any studies better than this item, demonstrating it’s effectiveness?

          • @Commenter: As described on that fact sheet, most studies are very small, with very short duration, used in conjunction with traditional medicine, and mainly in India.

Sounds promising to look into as a research target but at most, this is current hypothesis generating, doesn’t really demonstrate effectiveness.

It would be worthwhile to conduct a larger study outside India with longer duration to demonstrate effectiveness.

            • @ozbking: It’s been discussed on Peter Attia and Huberman lab podcasts.

They work as they create a night time routine

    • +3

For me, absolutely. 20 mins after taking it and im out, especially on the nights where i know its going to be an all night staring contest with the ceiling. But as i said, may not work for everyone, as a lot of off the shelf tablets/powders are rubbish for me.

I always thought it was overrated but now I can’t sleep without white noise in background.

try Magnesium, at night at 30-60 ins before sleep, Caruso's Super Magnesium and Voost Magnesium Effervescent ones works for me, caruso is better but its a horse tablet lol

      • Might have to try it, but doesn't mention anything about sleep?

        Caruso's Super Manesium:
Reduces and relieves muscle cramps when dietary intake is inadequate
        Relieves menstrual cramps and spasms
        Maintains muscle health and function
        Supports heart health
Maintains nervous system health and function

  • Melatonin slow release is $15 for 100 tablets from iHerb.

  • I'm guessing it's the hops that puts you to sleep quickly. I've seen it in other sleep tablets. Like a beer in every dose.

    • So I shouldn't slam down 12 LOL ;)

  • These things are on special like 9/10 weekly cycles so I feel like $3 is the actual normal price… sometimes low as like $2.45ea?
Wife buys some othe the other ones regularly

  • tried a digest cleanse one and a energy fuel one today…

tasted/smelled gross…i guess it MUST mean its good for me…

    • How did the Digest one go? I was looking at that one.

      • I had bad food posioning over night , so kinda hoping this resets me internally lol

        I don’t feel any different… yet
