  • Nice, thanks.

  • can anyone comment on the noise level for a bedroom while sleeping?

Honestly near dead silent on sleep mode, I could hear my tinnitus louder than the fan

      • +5

Apparently, Australia has a high volume of allergies, that can lead to tinnitus, compared to other countries. Take an antihistamine and allergy nasal spray daily before going to bed, and repeat this continuously for several weeks, this may result in reducing the effect of tinnitus as well as other allergic reactions. Just regurgitating what my GP informed me. Do your own research.

        • +3

Didn't expect life changing advice on my tinnitus in this ozbargain thread…off to do some research!

          • @OzMeow13: Smash head against the wall does not help to get rid off tinnitus. You don't need to do research on this one.

    • its got a few settings, the quietest one you wont be able to hear at all.

I purchased on the last deal and used it all day yesterday and overnight, the auto-mode is pretty cool, noticed when I was moving around / vacuuming near it, it detected PM2.5 increase turned speed up.
Gave me some inspiration to do a full spring clean of the house today

      • Must clean, so dirty, mu1010 clea01001 n, house, control 10101, abort, detected 101101001

I just saw videos of people opening these up after a year of use, not realising there is a plastic cover over the filter.

    • Do you mean you they didn't remove the plastic on the filter before using?

      • Yes this.

    • Saw this too

    • This was common on a few OZB posts back in the day too

  • Do I need to buy additional air filters regularly with this machine?

    • +1

I purchased the 2000i in August 2022, our first house didn't have any extraction in the kitchen and we also have pets, it's been running almost non-stop since purchase and the filter is at 16% used

    • +1

The filter on this one should be replaced every 12 months

  • I know I’m being lazy but for someone who has one and already done so, what’s the filter replacement cost?

I’ve had the Xiaomi units and find them pricey when not on a deal - particularly if you have a few units at home.

    • price range for comparison?

    • -1

      Around $40 - $50 on AliExpress

      • how long does each filter last for a regular usage?

        • +1

Recommended replacement date is 12 months but I think it depends on your usage. I think 1-2 years is fine

  • What's the power consumption like?

    • +3

It tells you in the post description.

      • +1

        f***k I missed that lol.

    • Extremely low. Basically a small fan

  • ive never owned an air purifier, do i need one

    • +1

Not very common usage in Australia as our air quality is not as polluted as other countries. However, if you have moderate to severe allergies, invest in one of these is highly recommended.

    Checking and expired lol

Will wait for the BF sale with upsized cashback. Should be cheaper after cashback.

    • I hope so! I’m wanting two of these

  • How often should you run it ..e.g. bedroom..like put it on 1hr before and then every 2hrs after ?

    • +1

Just set it to auto and it'll handle that for you, and if you feel like it's been on long enough and wanna save power just turn it off for a few hours

  • I was looking at this, ended up with Philips 900 instead.

Yes not as strong, by 50 cadr less. But the replacement filter is cheaper with 900 at 69 RPP. 900 is more than enough for a bedroom.

1000i is around 95 for filter RPP, genuine

  • Thumbnail and model number make it look like a router lol

  • +1

And we're back! Just placed the order.

    • What do you mean? It’s still $280?

      • in the last 24 hours it's bounced between 280, 237 and 207. I think its just settled on 237 again for now.

I pulled the trigger at 237 but was able to cancel in time for the 207 drop and re-order

        • Ohh wow!
Okay cool, I noticed if I go to other sellers on Amazon button there is the same model at $217? Sold by Amazon AU still as well?? So strange right.
          It’s currently at $237
