        amaysim don't require id given that u have an aussie issued card. Can use prepaid debit card paid with cash from woolies/coles to sign up.

          Legally, you're required to provide ID when signing up in Australia. If Amaysim isn't checking ID, they're being dodgy.

              @Quarter Pounder: Yes, a debit card is a valid form of ID if it's in your name and you hold an account with the financial institution.

              If you don't hold an account in your name with the financial institution, such as is the case with the prepaid debit card, then it's not valid ID and Amaysim are being negligent if they accept that.

        It's not hard to find a tourist selling their sim with a few months left on the way out. It's also pretty easy to get someone else's info online (clearly illegal, don't do), given the number of leaks. People also use international sims to get around this (for outgoing). There are many ways to get burner numbers. The government is aware of this (especially with peoples ID leaks), hence no point of tightening to program. People will always find a way

          I'm not sure that's legal to buy and use some one else's activated SIM card in your own phone and claim it as your own. There's got to be a law against it. The SIM card has to be tracked back to the rightful owner. What you describe is most likely an illegal practice.

            @hollykryten: We are talking "burner phones". The entire point of them is to avoid a paper trial as they're used for illegal things, Example my mates use them in his bootleg cigg / vape business for deliveries.

      It has Facebook pre-installed, and access to the internet. But no option to download other apps unfortunately.

      As long as this supports VoLTE then you should be fine. And it appears to support VoLTE. But i don't know if the VoLTE on this phone works with all Australian mobile carriers.
