Hi all, my first post ever.

Found The Frame goes for 35% off for 65'', and 45% off for 55'' at Samsung Westpac store. Unfortunately, discount for 75'' and 85'' aren't as appealing.

Enjoy!

Wait for better deals. We paid about $1500 this year

It’s a good TV if your after the picture frame thing to enhance the rooms decor. Our neighbour thought it was an actual oil painting

It’s annoying the frame border costs extra - it’s cheap of them not to at least include one

Don’t get suckered into paying for the digital art, use Samsung SmartThings smartphone app to upload from websites specialising in digital paintings e.g https://freetvart.com/

    • It does include an inbuilt frame border? It has default black one. I have two of them.

And yeah dont even need to use app just usb stick some high quality pictures from anywhere. The prices they charge are a joke.

      • Ah ok. I don’t consider the black one the picture border… it looks like a normal TV without the clip on border

Yes, usb is another way. I find the app easy. Going to specific site that mimics oil paint brush strokes gives best results

        • We bought the teak edge when we purchased the 75" recently. Was annoying to pay extra but it does look a lot better I think, with our decor anyway.
We paid for the art subscription as there was a discount offer. I think it was around $60 for 15 months all up? Not that dear to access the full range and easily use.
Once we get an idea of what sort of thing we really like, we'll use freetvart when the subscription expires. Thanks for the tip.

      • That's handy to know. Thanks for that. I didn't realise it has a USB slot.

  • Paid around 1700 for the 75" during Black Friday last year. Hodl

  • 65" is available through Powerland for $1,699 + delivery, which works out cheaper in most of NSW

The new Hisense "canvas" competitor is in many ways a nicer TV, bonus free border included, and cheaper RRP, stocks have been delayed but starting to be discounted and made available. These are being cleared out for cheaper because of the new competition in a niche market, and prices will likely drop further soon. I am personally waiting for the Canvas deals over these having seen them both in operation up close.

    • Haven’t seen or experienced it yet: Could you elaborate what makes the Hisense Canvas nicer over the Samsung Frame?

I’m wondering about matt screen / anti-reflection, even picture, black levels, Hz, and usability when uploading and managing static images for display mode.

No one connect box is a massive miss by the hisence imo.

should add that the canvas is an all in one tv, no separate tuner box at the end of a long cable like these Frame ones have. The picture in the Frame one above is a bit misleading, you would have to chisel in a channel in the wall and hide the cable in it or use a cable tube with The Frame, so its not easy to get a tidy look like they show in the pictures, esp on top of a fire place.

    • Can the cable go through the wall and be put under the TV?

    • Does the canvas have wireless power delivery?

Double brick, timber/gyprock walls aren't difficult to run cables in

      • I read somewhere they said the cable is not rated to be run inside the walls, whatever that means hence I also asked if someone has done it without any issues

      • a lot of homes have a recessed power point and antenna connector ready for a normal TV, put in place when building (like mine). None of them will have a space big enough for the huge box that comes with The Frame. It simply has to be put elsewhere, which means pfaffing about with gyprock or chisels or adding an ugly cover tube or needing a cabinet near the TV to hide the thing. The light duty cables are not rated for internal wall use so need conduits as well. Ugly issue for what is supposed to be a neat and artistic TV. Not easy to get the clean look they show in the pictures, deceptive in my opinion. The new competing products get around this not insignificant issue for the intended markets looking for unobtrusive installs.

  • TCL also have their answer to the Samsung frame just released called NXTframe tv running on the Google UI.
