    free?

  • iirc wasn't there a Watch6 Classic deal posted a couple days ago for a similar price? This model is about 2.5 years old already…

    • +1

      The battery bro….

      • +1

Oh yeah fair that. The 5 pro can last a few days on end or something right?

        • +2

Mine does if its just normal wear/use. If I run a golf app on it where its constantly using the GPS functionality it can burn through quite a lot of battery in 4/5 hours.

  • +1

Bargain at this price. I own this model, buy for the battery, but the cpu is a bit laggy these days. I'd probs consider the Galaxy watch 7 for the better cpu tho.

    • +1

Using power saving mode always? Have the same model and no lag, but did notice it when using power saving mode.

  • Yep battery and toughness is the seller here. Mine has been abused for 2 years and looks brand new. Great price..

    • What do you use it for

  • +1

i just brought a Galaxy watch 6 44mm for $305 today from samsung.

  • +1

This or the watch 6 44mm?

    • My question too.

      • For battery this, for slim look watch 6

  • Would anyone price match this?

  • This is the best of the bunch because of the battery life.

  • Love mine 3-4 days battery life with screen on during the day.
Pulse rate can be inaccurate if you have a burst of activity and raise your pulse to 160+, it then only counts your pulse as half.
Also going to use it in conjunction with ring ($559 on Samsung government multistore). Guessing that using the ring for pulse will extend watch battery time.

  • The best watch Samsung ever made.

  • +2

This is the LTE model, according to specs.

    • Would be a superb deal if this is LTE model.

I'd take a Amazfit GTS 4 over this anyday. Battery is horrible on this Samsung watch and who wants to use Samsung bloated Health.

    • Amazfit Band 7 is great & extra light. I paid $45 (>1y ago) & ordered +1 for the partner for that great price. Batt lasts 18d (used to be 4w on older Xiaomi). Would be iCrazy to overpay for Apple watch >10x & be slave of charging (I only charge during quick showers sometimes).

  • I have one and not going to upgrade until it does dies.

    • Does dies??

      • Haha, auto type

        • Lol

    • I have the original Galaxy Watch :D…..

still going strong.. it will never die

      • Immortal?

  • Any way we can confirm that this is the LTE model before it is sold out tonight…..

    • The only thing you can really go off of at the moment is the specs tab, under additional features.
"Samsung Pay, Samsung Health, 5ATM +IP68/ MIL-STD-810G, Accelerometer, Barometer, Gyro, Geomagnetic sensor, light sensor, optical HR sensor, electrical HR sensor, Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis sensor, Skin Temp, Mic, Speaker, Titanium, Touch Bezel, BTH 5.2/WiFi/GPS/NFC/LTE, Continuous GPS"

      • Specifications shows

        Band Support
        4G: B1(2100), B3(1800), B5(850), B7(2600), B8(900), B28(700)
        3G: B1(2100), B5(850), B8(900)

this is the LTE model confirmed

    • Confirmed its LTE, I just purchased and picked one up today.

  • Will this pair with an iPhone? Thanks

  • Hi guys, for the LTE watches, do you need a sim card in them or another mobile contract?

Or do i just get an extra micro sim linked to my mobile number on it ?

    • Wouldnt an extra micro sim open a loophole for scammers to obtain extra sims?

    • I have this watch and I use an esim linked to my current mobile plan for an extra $5 a month. You set it all up through the Samsung app but be warned for some reason it doesn't work on Optus in Australia.

    • e-sim linked to your existing number usually. Extra few dollars (5ish) a month on your bill

    • +1

To use the watch with the e-sim, you need to go directly with the major providers, ie Telstra, Optus, Voda etc and i believe it's only on the post-paid plans too.

  • tempting to go back to gw5p after miserable battery life experience in gw6c 47mm..

but I know that I will miss that bezel

    why, Samsung

    • How bad is the battery?

      • 2 days and sometimes I wake up to a dead watch, so sometimes not even 2 days / 2 nights. rather annoying since I want to have sleep tracking

to a point that I stopped using it when I got Samsung Fit3. doesn't look much worse, does everything I need, lasts at least a week, could be more - haven't seen it run out of juice yet.

  • Can someone suggest a cheap option if i am on a prepaid for mobile but want an esim for the watch?

    • truphone or esim workaround for andriod

      • Are u able to elaborate further? Can i just get an esim with data only from another supplier and link it somehow?

        • i would advise searching up on google. I believe theres also a workaround found via reddit for this.

    • You can try Amaysim, my experience has been great.

      • It says on the amayasim Web site that esim is not compatible with wearable and smart watches yet. Not sure if it's outdated? Are u using it in your watch atm?

  • +1

Got a used one from market place 6 months ago for $199. This is a bargain.

  • My friend was able to buy this phone in-store without having a Telstra ID https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/844783.

Hopefully they’ll do the same with this watch.

    • +1

Confirmed and bought one today. Seller said run out fast

    • +2

thats correct, this can be purchased outright via POS

    • yeah i just got one from Syd CBD (Pitt St) store, i offered that I was an existing Telstra mobile customer, but the guys wasnt really concerned.

  • +1

Cheaper on Catch. Add promo SAVE10 for $10 off and use 8% off Catch gift card from Rewards Gateway. Paid $277.84 delivered

    • sounds good - share the link please?

        • +1

nice find - i think that is the non-LTE model tho, so should be cheaper than this Telstra unit anyway.
Also, as it's shipped from overseas "Sold and delivered by Vchain Global Ecommerce LTD. (Shipped from Overseas)" - it is prob not the AU model, so might have some regional restrictions (i'm no expert on that part tho).
Anyway, should be a good watch for ya - enjoy!

    • Does this watch from Catch come with Samsung pay NFC? Overseas versions tend to not come with Samsung pay capability.

  • So I ended up getting these for my kids as a standalone LTE watch. Battery life on standalone cellular is nearly 2 days.

If using Bluetooth with accompanying phone, I get about 3 days out of it.

You do need an android phone to set it up with (I read you need to have a Sim card in it - any Sim card). I used an old Samsung s8 which had been wiped.

Note the below instructions are for a standalone cellular watch setup, which is a hack that it isn't really designed to do. My instructions below doel NOT use number share (though if you wanted to number share then follow Samsung's instructions).

Set up Samsung and Google accounts for each child. Sign into one. Set up the watch as normal.

Sign up for a standalone eSim phone card. I got this
    https://apply.etel.com.au/buysim/10gb-plan?pc=1010

In the Samsung Wear app, click the 3 horizontal line button. Then the cog button then "About Galaxy Wearable" then click on the heading "galaxy wearable" 5 times.

Click "test eSim feature" and make sure "test mode" and "qr test mode" are both on.

Then go back to the main Wear app, "Watch Settings", "Mobile Plan" scan the QR code to add the eSim. Then make sure you have actually turned on that eSim.

The watch will then turn on cellular and you can make and receive calls / data without the phone. You can then turn off the phone and put it in a drawer unless you need to do updates etc.

If however you have a second watch you want to set up, I'd suggest:
    - put the already set up watch into flight mode
    - on the phone, sign out of both Samsung and Google accounts
    - on the phone, sign into both Samsung and Google accounts for the 2nd user
    - set up the 2nd watch as above

If you ever need to pair a watch and the phone again (eg for updates), make sure the other watch is in flight mode, and make sure you have signed into the correct Samsung and Google account on the phone

Occasionally the Samsung account on the watch gets mixed up. Re-pairing it fixes it.

You can also use the Google Find Device app to track these. I couldn't get anything else to work consistently. Make sure Cellular and wifi are on "auto" and Bluetooth is on.

I couldn't get family link to work properly with kids ages (might have been my very old Samsung S8) do changed the kids to adults.

FYI I tried a Apple Watch 7 cellular using the kids standalone option. There's only 1 provider in Australia that allows this (Try phone). Whilst it is cheap, I found it very unreliable. Calls wouldn't go through despite reception, tracking was patchy. And most importantly, even without using the watch much, could barely make it to 5pm. It was hopeless.
