Warning. These have a reputation of having loose USB C ports.

Confirmed. Have one with a loose port sitting on my desk. I grimace every time I put a cable in.

I’ve started having this problem and thought it was just
        me :/

Seriously? I have the T5 and it's been absolutely rock solid. I would have almost blindly bought one based on my great experience with the T5. Thanks so much for the warning!

Only affects the Shield. Ironic since that’s the premium model.

Does it apply to the non shield T7?

    • Yeap, confirm about this. I literally dropping it everytime, so used to the unshielded models holding the cable rather the device.

  • I got this for $160 when the great SSD glut was going on. Crazy it's back up to this price now a year or two later.

Tbh I’m not sure how good the price is, but I have this exact model (shield 2TB) and can very highly recommend. Exceptional build quality (I’ve not experienced any looseness of the USB-C port) and super fast transfer speeds.

I too have this exact model. Purchased it about 1.5 years ago from OW for $188 and also zero issues to date. I like that it works connected direct to my phone as a previous portable drive I tried did not.

It also spent 12 months in a drawer of a caravan travelling around Australia and no signs of loose USB-C port at all.
