I am pretty sure that the 500GB Package was 200 or below.

Oh no!!! One of my kids has been on 500gb for 2 years and we paid so little. So they are ridding of that amazing plan?? Will need to move to Lebara perhaps when time comes :(

      • +1

I dont see them any annoucement that they're removing the extra large plan

  • +2

    Seems its still 4G only

I’m switching to Boost, Kogan coverage and network has been really terrible lately.

    • +1

Same, I won’t be going back to Kogan. My phone is almost unusable at Perisher.

  • Beware I tried Kogan back in 2021 and performance was terrible. I had fine experience on their month - month plan, but once I signed up to 365 day calls would constantly drop out. Not sure how they change things between plans. My partner had the same experience. Changed to boost and woolies mobile respectively and its much better.

Bear in mind that Kogan's(Vodafone) VoLTE does not play nice with some phones bought directly from China, even models that they sell themselves appear to be blocked on IMEI ranges. I had to force mine to enable it, which is relatively easy on a Xiaomi phone but other brands may vary!

  • There is people out there that can genuinely use 1.37GB every single day? 7 days a week, 365 days in a year?

    • My mobile plan here in NZ has 4GB a month and I don't think I've ever ran out. I still wish we got this much data lol

      • Just recently my 1 year Boost expired. 365 days. 170GB. Pushed it hard. Loads of livestreaming my driving. Couldn't believe it when it said on the last day I had 130GB left to be used in 24 hours. 🤣😂

      I do, easily :D

  • what would be your go-to prepaid plan for the best coverage if money isn't much of an issue? thanks.

    • Boost tends to be considered the best. Full Telstra network, but like all things mobile reception related, best to look at a coverage map.

  • Kogan uses Vodafone Network, and the Vodafone network has been terrible lately, so can't Imagine the network quality of an MVNO using that network.

  • Kogan still has no voicemail? When i was on it it was voice to sms only.

    • Kogan has voicemail, but awful reception.

  • +1

can we use it as home Internet?

  • +1

Can it be used in iPad?

    • +2

      Yes

  • For those that prefer to avoid the Vodafone network where are some equivalent Optus network alternatives from catch

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/872649

  • They increasing their coverage range 2025 fyi.Who knows if actually better

    https://www.koganmobile.com.au/about/network-coverage-increa…

    • Network sharing with Optus i think

  • If you need more / unlimited data just go with Felix Mobile $40 a month. If you don't need mega fast speeds or ping it's perfect.

  • So what's the cheapest with 5g coverage (say around 300gb for under $250….)?

  • +3

Found a lot better prices renewing through the app, $140 for extra large 500gb plan for the year.

    https://ibb.co/9vkfHkz

    • +1

That’s brilliant. I hope they keep the extra large at a good price for existing customers.

    • +1

That’s excellent, thanks for pointing that out! Usually the app is more expensive, so I didn’t bother to check. Thanks once again!

    • Is that for an expired plan? Because mine is showing up at $335 for 500gb

      • Howwww

      • +1

It appears it went up in price. The T&Cs said the promo would end on 31-Oct-2024. Very annoyed by this because mine recharges on that day.

        • This has really annoyed me and I’ve lodged a complaint with Kogan Mobile. I had a screenshot of the offer but not the T&Cs.
