This is the 2nd pricing error on a newish laptop that I've seen this month. My tinfoil hat conspiracy theory is that Microsoft wants laptops with AI chips sold faster so their mandatory Recall feature which takes screenshots every 10s gives them more data faster :)

    • … and that's why they put 5g in the vaccines. To improve the speed that their new copilot PCs can scrape data about how often I refresh ozbargs

This doesnt sound farfetched to me. I can see AI in pcs giving corporations another observation window into peoples lives. They scrape as much as they can off your phone though apps, so why wouldnt they want you pc data . Corps are constantly updating their policy and terms to gain permission to scrape more and more data. I recently stopped using the NAB app because they changed they changed their terms and i couldnt log in unless i accepted. The new terms stating theyll be collecting more data off your phone to understand what apps you use under the guise of fraud prevention. Knowledge is power

Sooo….I'm hearing someone will finally be paying attention to me..

  • Order cancelled :(

    • :(

    • Yeah same

      • Order has disappeared from my amazon, but i havnt received any cancellation notification (yet)

        • +1

          check your cancel page

          • @qzcbmo: Are there it is.. didnt know there was a cancel page… yep cancelled. Dang

        • +1

Yeah I didn't get an email but it's in the cancelled orders section on my Amazon account

    ACCC time guys?

    • Nah Australia law states that businesses do not need to honour pricing errors.

  • Sorry to hear about the cancellations folks. I was rooting for you all, at least some of you.

Taking a moment to give praise to Jezzabell, hopefully maybe their order went through

Perhaps you can still get a voucher if you express your sadness to amazon support?

    • To be honest I was 50/050 if they would honour this as it's probably below cost for them to begin with.

  • Mine got cancelled by Amazon as "out of stock" 😭

    • Got an email telling me it was a price error and they are giving me $5 credit.

  • Was offered $5 inconvenience voucher, order cancelled due to out of stock

After speaking to an agent I was informed that if I purchase the laptop when it is in stock I will receive the price difference in amazon credit. I'm not sure I want $2600 in amazon credit but I'm sure I can find a use for it.

Be careful. They told me the same for an item and went through a 8 month dispute process with them.

      Some CS just say bullshit

For this one a manager wrote in writing that when it comes back in stock I can get a price difference.

Process was extremely easy and I was able to even bargain with them for $150 promo credit on top. Gift card for price difference credited in minutes.

        • I mean its not cash. And that tredmill ive seen it as low as $1400 delivered after the amazon deal. So you are comitting yourself to an extra $600 on amazon and thats where they get you so you can see how high the markup is. Im sure that tredmill will drop below $1000 at some point in time on a sale.

Its also amazon promo credit most of the time so you can only use it on amazon as seller, not third party.

Then you risk your account getting banned, and if you do that another story as amazon bans accounts randomly for no reason

          So YMMV

@easternculture: My purchase was $1499 for that treadmill during Prime Big Deal

They credited as a gift card. I've already used it all up lmao.

I've got the same offer from them, and an email confirmation of it. I guess I'll just wait until the laptop is back in stock to decide.

After reading your comment I tried to ask the agent as well but eventually only able to get a 50 AUD gift card. Not too bad tho considering it's technically free. Thanks again for Jezzabell who posted this deal.

      • I think it comes out Nov 1st, could use the credit for black friday sales I guess.

I would rather an Amd laptop with the 890 graphics though. The Intel i9 ultra would be great for work, media editing, etc.. But it would go to waste on me. As it would be for netflix and light gaming.

Well tbh, if Amazon does stick to it's offer of the price difference in credit, I'll give them the "My order got cancelled and all I got was this stupid gift card" award.
