How to Tell if a USB-C to USB-A Cable Is High Quality? Need Recommendations for Android Auto

Hi all,

I’ve been having trouble with Android Auto in my MG4, and I suspect the issue might be with my current USB-C to USB-A cables. They charge fine but don’t seem to work for data transfer with Android Auto.

Can anyone share tips on how to tell if a USB-C to USB-A cable is high quality when buying online? What features or specs should I look out for?

Also, if you have any recommendations for high-quality cables that have worked well with Android Auto, that would be super helpful!

Thanks in advance for your advice!

If it says ANKER or UGREEN on it, it's high quality. Pay a bit extra for peace of mind.

      • If you can get to IKEA, try the SITTBRUNN cable they sell.
USB-A to USB-C Yellow cable, $2. (still available in store, not expired).
        USB-C to USB-C Blue cable, $4.
I have used Android Auto with this yellow one and works reliable enough. For the price, I really like this cable.

Dedinitely can and am due for an ikea visit for a chair!

        • I have had problems with the IKEA yellow cable in one of our cars, works fine on the other car though. Not sure why? Belkin works great though

  • +1 for Anker cables.

You could also clean your phones USB port.
