Spotted in Ikea, looks like the new lower price is $1 Cheaper then previously! Now $2 in store ^_^

      It can do 3A (up to 60W @ 20V) depending on your device. It does not have a 5A eMark chip

    IKEA cables are absolutely the worst. All cables I got, a to c, a to lightning, c to lightning etc all are super unreliable and disconnect or have died. And I had plenty of cables over the years.

    Waste of money and worse, it’s frustrating.

      btw I think it was you in the previous deal that said having issues with android auto?

      the thing is I read ikea cables have temperature sensors inside them as a safety feature. maybe using them in the car for android auto everyday you were triggering the max temperature causing the cable to shut itself off. but if you just wait and tried it again another day and it worked, but then next time it stopped again. this would seem like the cable is "broken".

        Yes me, experienced the same issue with CarPlay too.

        There are very reliable cables out there that I use daily in all conditions. These aren’t one of them. None of this relieves them from being terrible cables.

        Problem is they did this to me either mid trip, which made me distracted and pretty dangerous or when I was charging my phone over night and woke up to 10%.

        This is enough for me tell anyone I care not to ever buy one of these as you Don’t realise how much you’re relying on these things Until they fail And leave you halfway

      FWIW I have several of the older braided Ikea cables working fine ten years or so.

      No dramas of any kind

      Edit: I tell a lie – 1 lightning connector broke off last year after constant daily use

        yeah my long term experience with the ikea lighting is 2 years+ still going with zero issues.

        one of them I always just throw on passenger seat of vehicle after I unplug and gets sat on all the time. the Lightning connector still fine.
        nothing feels loose when plugging both ends.
        one thing which is only aesthetics though is the all braided ikea lightning cable still has the little “kinks” in it from the day I bought them 😂

        the ikea C to C with silicone non braided sleeve don’t have any kinks. not sure why the braided is like that. 💁‍♀️

    these got "bad deal" votes last time round because many claimed "poor quality".

    the C to C ones I got before posting the previous deal are doing fine 6 months of normal charging purpose now. I will be first to report if one of them has an issues.

    they look identical to the lightning ones I have (same thickness and connector cases) which have lasted over 2 years and still going strong. the only cable difference is lightning has braided sleeve while the C to C has normal silicone sleeve.

    one comment I remember said the lightning ones are higher quality because they have "apple certified" standards. but that doesn't make sense to me. how can apple check the standard for every single MFI certified cable thats made? do they visit every single factory in china that makes them on repeat? I always thought MFI certified just meant they used apple's MFI chip in the lightning connector so that is how they keep the standard. nothing to do with the quality of the cable afaik.

      Also what were people expecting for an incredibly cheap cable? For $2 and $4 respectively, it is an amazing deal even if the cable only lasts 6 months. Spending $10ish dollars on charging a year is really cheap.

        I mean I expect things like simple USB cable to last more than 6 months no matter what the price tbh. but I thought 2 years and still going (ikea lightning) was a sign of a good quality cable.

        I just don't know why ikea branded cables were singled out as "the bad cables" made to the "worst quality they can make" when I saw plenty of deals for super cheap random amazon brand C to C cables like this (I just picked this one because they are also 60w max) https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/840052

        had issues with anker in the past, and people recommended anker>ugreen for quality at ok prices.
        tbf even though anker wasn’t great for me I got a Ugreen A to C 2 months ago still works. I haven’t made my mind up on ugreen yet but know a couple people saying they are great for the price.

    I almost exclusively used IKEA cables for some time and I find it's only the USB A to C cables that are longer than 50cm which are the duds. All mine now only charge at dismal speeds. These are the older style braided cables not this exact version.

    The lightning and USB C to C ones are great and have never failed.

      funny the lightning ones I said lasted over 2 yrs are A to Lightning braided and over 50cm. they must be the older type and similar the A to C you mentioned having problems??

      I have the C to C ones as well and working just fine so far. no signs of poor quality such as wonky looseness or slow charge.

        The lightning ones are probably better quality since they have the Made for iPhone badge on the box. The USB C to C ones are also thicker than the USB A to C cables. I'm guessing the weak point of the cables that did fail are near the connector ends which I can see have been redesigned in the newer cables. Haven't bought any of these new ones due to the constant supply of cheap Amazon cables these days.
