SITTBRUNN 60W USB-C 1m Cable $4 + Delivery (+ $5 C&C under $50 Spend/ $0 in-Store) @ IKEA

120

cheaper than I posted last time and pretty sure ATL.

some ozbers had issues with the quality of these but since buying these 5+ months ago with daily use I have not had any issues with mine.

no problems they still fit securely and I coil them up after every use.

I have some USB-A to lightning ikea cables that have lasted almost 3 years without any issue.

also be aware these IKEA cables have temperature sensors in them for safety which means they probably aren’t ideal for heat generated from 24/7 constant 60W power or using for dashcam in Australian summer.
one user said cables failed during dashcam use, I assume this was due to the power being cut due to high temperature.

  • also multiple small item shipping has been very reasonable delivery cost for me recently.

I recently ordered multiple small items and one medium size item from ikea and delivery was only $5 very reasonable imo. πŸ€— ymmv.

I am about 25 mins drive away from nearest ikea btw.

    • ymmv.

Correct. I am about 23 mins drive away from my nearest IKEA

  • Isn't a usb cable all the same saying it has different W is just marketing am i right?

    • Not quite.

It's a lot more complicated then that and not very clear.

Correct me if I'm wrong, if you're just using it for low wattage ~3A (60W) max applications, I believe it doesn't need an emarker or anything as USB-C cables are meant to meet the 3A rating at minimum. Basically if that's your application, then yes they'll be all the same to you.

Going higher, they'll need emarker chip and potentially have higher gauge wiring to identify itself to the equipment and carry the higher load without burning up.

Edit: Found an interesting table: https://imgur.com/a/table-3-1-of-usb-type-c-specification-r2…

    • No, but if you asking about it, it might not applicable for you. Some devices require more powers to charge, and this 60W cable will not enough to power it, even if using higher W adapter.

  • Can anyone enlighten me on why IKEA charges for click and collect?

Ikea would be encouraging for you to go get it off the shelf yourself, as opposed to paying for an employee to get it for you.

Also their business model is based on making customers spend as much time in there as possible. C&C goes against that model so they probably want to discourage it

    • I swear it was the same at kmart like a year ago. surprised they charge you for picking it up yourself. (well to be fair the counter not the shelf)

  • Do these cables have support to carry data for android auto?

    • A simple click of the link will provide the answer.

    • I don't think this cable is for you.

reason why is can't find the post right now, but like 2 posts ago for this item someone was very upset the ikea cable kept dropping out connection/power with android auto in their car.

they seemed to think it was a serious issue with cable quality, but I think it was because of the temp sensor inside the ikea cable. if it gets too hot it cuts power, which has never happened to me using it indoors but inside a hot car under the sun this is what I think kept happening to them. they also said it happened to multiple replacements which makes me think it is the temp sensor even though they disagreed.

      • Your right, i found a post about disconnections and slow charging speed. I will skip buying this thanks

  • Thought this was the SHITBUN cable for a second, but it's never on sale.

    • Thought this was the SHITBUN

that no joke sounds like the name for a pork bun.

  • Shit burn?

That's what happens after I have spicy Indian curries.
