Thanks! Would I still need the Yale Connect Plus Bridge for it to auto unlock or is this pack enough?
Geo-based auto unlock works through both HomeKit or Yale Home.
Unless you need remote management features (like add/remove pin codes while away and smart alerts), bridge is not required.
How do you guys open the door without handle?
its a dead latch replacement … not door handle lock
Thx.
It’s a deadlock replacement rather than dead-latch, but your point still stands.
Absolutely right - deadlock (or deadbolt) is just a pin, while dead latch is spring-loaded and would self-lock.
I think some people add a non-locking handle latch in addition to this.
I generally like to use my knob
There were handles from Lockwood Velocity series (also a brand of Assa Abloy like Yale) that matches the design of Yale Assure locks and was sold in JB Hi-Fi alongside smart locks. Though it was in clearance about two years ago and no longer on sale.
I heard a lot of people complimenting the Yale Assure 2. Beside the fingerprint feature, is there much difference between the two?
Assure 2 series' product portfolio is a mess as it has a lot of features exclusive from each other on different models. If you're Apple user wants Home Key support, you can't get fingerprint, for example.
But Assure 2 Plus on its own is still a good product. Just that it's not an official Australian marketed product yet, all imports.
this any better of worse than Samsung locks?
Wish there was still the $100 TLock versions about
For renters that's not allowed to install a deadbolt, the Aqara U300 is a great choice
Does this auto unlock your door?
