      • On Monday

        • +2

thanks mate, i should just searched it up 2nd december

    • Hmmmm but you do get Spacemarine 2 if you want that game (that deal ends 2nd Nov)

Edit: also… Is Cyber Monday even reliable for getting deals on GPUs?

      • No usually the deals are good in the lead up to it

  • +3

No deal Scorptec - Need it in white.

  • +2

It's nice but we must hold!

Haven't been following GPUs since I bought a 3080. XFX really upped their design. Nice

    • They are sleek as

  • 4070s or 7800xt?

    • +9

vram diff makes 7800xt my preference, but nvidia drivers features may be worth the diff, depends what you value more

      • 16gb vs 12gb. Other then VR I've yet to see a significant difference. I use Autodesk (3D rendering software) for work, but I do wanna play modern games as well. Most games as far as I can see only uses 12gb max. since consoles are still viable would 12gb be enough for 3 years?

Steve from HWU runs some tests here. Looks like 12g can be a bottleneck in some higher settings at 4k

@Pusheencat: Hey man thanks both of your info's, I've got a 2080. So I thought about upgrading. Seems like a 4080 is what I need. So far nothing compares to Dlss 3 and Rasterisation. I work as a CMC operator based on AutoCAD and is not worth it. All I wanted to know can I built a PC worth less than 2k. I want the PVC render not to take 3 hours.

this is the better buy than PS5 Pro

    • Are You sure? Or just hypostatical. Cause FF7 rebirth looks bad on my ps5. I can't buy that game anywhere else, I've tried.

Good price if you need/want one now and I've enjoyed using Scorptec over the years too. I am personally hanging out for RDNA 4 to see if AMD put their money where Jack Huynh's mouth is and aim for market share.

  • It's been this price a while, also the 7900GRE with same cooler setup has been relatively/slightly cheaper than the other AIBs.

I do wonder about the usefulness vs the gimmickness (sic) of these magnetic fans though.

    Anyone got one?

    • Saphire has been $715 for a while.
I never seen XFX for 709 before.

    • +2

I don't have one of the magnetics but I did a bit of digging for reviews. Seems the cooler performance out of the box is middling - it's fine, but not as good as the best AIB models. I question the usefulness of the tech though, since I've run numerous GPUs without ever needing to replace a fan.

Seems to me that you should treat this like any other 7800XT and buy it if it's the cheapest one, ignoring the fan tech.

I picked one up a month or so ago when it was $729. So far the fans are quieter than my Strix 1080ti that it replaced.
Temps are great ~60c. Definitely a good buy. Too bad I got scammed $20 :'(

FYI this is a MASSIVE card so make sure it fits in your case. I have 1mm of clearance between the card and my front AIO.

      • So if my case has a stated clearance of 340mm and this card is 337mm it should be fine?

        • +1

She'll be right. I measured mine with 2 different tape measures at 338mm and 339mm. I measured from the start of the backplate of my old card and it turned out correct. 1mm of clearance.
