Have this machine and have never been unhappy with it
Can bang out good tasting coffee, I’ve plenty of years working in hospitality/barista. For those who demand a dual boiler from a time perspective, this machine can’t steam and extract at the same time but it’s pretty much two seconds. Coffee extracts, flick steam wand on and boom.

Got at some point in Covid years, pre Covid coffee machine prices were so good so yeh not sure ATLs will be seen again

    • I've been looking for the Dual Boiler because OzBargain convinced me it's that or nothing.

Is that all it is, from a benefit perspective? That you can steam milk and extract a shot at the same time? I don't see much of a benefit of that for the price, so i'm wondering whether there's significantly much more benefit to that vs. this.

The dual boiler can also be “hacked”/tinkered with, but I’d argue for most people the barista pro is the better deal with the built in grinder and 3 second heat up time

        nonsense tbh

nothing wrong with a barista express or barista pro

I've owned the Dual Boiler (BES920BSS) for 5-6 years and love it but having said that, for day to day use, I'd have been perfectly fine with any of the other models. The only times that having the dual boiler comes in handy is when I have company over, making multiple cups (4-6) in a row takes less time but we're talking about a few minutes at most saved.

If I had the option to choose again, I'd just go for something like the above with grinder built in to save on counter space. I don't have my machine in the kitchen, it sits on top of my bar cabinet because there's just not enough room in my tiny apartment kitchen to have it on the counter along with all my other appliances.

EDIT: Heck I have a mate who owns the Bambino Plus and I'd have been fine owning one of those except for the fact that it has the smaller 54mm portafilter.

I have read in other discussions that the dual boiler offers a heated group head and that the water into the head has several outlets (ring?) that may act to reduce chance of channeling. That may give more consistent extractions.
As a complete noob I doubt I could tell but I’m looking at Touch Impress. Built in grinder, Tamping lever, Auto dose adjustment, Auto milk frothing. Not much I can stuff up, but options to do it all manually if I wish. Just waiting for a great price.

  • Get appliances online to price match them with free delivery. Jb Hifi unfortunately wasnt able to do so. Avoid the cashback trouble from Billy G

    • Appliances online declined to because catch is a "warehouse"

      • i mean with billy g price 775, I was successful with mine

        • Did you call or was it done online to match $775? Thanks.

        • I contacted them online and they said their best price is $868.
