TCL 75C755 75" QD-Mini LED 4K Google TV $1624.95 + Delivery ($0 to MEL, BNE, SYD, ADL, CBR) @ Factory Direct

I’ve been searching for a 75-inch TV with a warranty longer than 1 year (including extended warranty costs if available) under $2000 and came across this option. The price is not bad compared to major retailers, which are all charging above $2000.

Note: The retailer seems relatively new and has limited, mostly negative reviews on Product Review: Factory Direct AU.

Any insights or experiences with this retailer would be greatly appreciated.

  • I'd probably opt for this refurb instead https://factorydirectau.com.au/products/tcl-75c845-tcl-75-4k…

Proceed with caution. Seller is known for selling refurbs as new.

To my mind you’re still at the bottom of the barrel brand wise and you’re better off with a bigger retailer no matter what brand because they are easier to throw the Australian Consumer Law Guarantee at. (I have TCL TVs and their Android TV is super laggy and doesn’t get updates - they are now guest TVs.)

You don’t need the extended warranty. All TVs should last a number of years, even my 75 inch Big W special for $800 a couple of years ago has an in home warranty (and probably longer than 1 year even on the box if I remember) and it’s lasted and been moved between 3 homes already.

    • My 70” EKO TV from Big W stopped working after nearly 4 years. Before that, a 65” SONY from Bing Lee died twice (once fixed under warranty), so I’ve lost trust in TV quality across brands.

I’m now deciding between a 75” and 85” TV, and the 75” seems to offer better value (unless a huge discount appears). The video quality on the EKO TVs from Big W is quite acceptable with minor adjustments. While the frame feels a bit plasticky and the built-in system lags, I use Apple TV, so that’s not a major issue.

  • Can anyone who has this model confirm this TV is laggy? Waiting for the 65 inch to go on sale again as I missed the last sale but would continue the search if this TV is laggy.

    • I've got the 75" and compared to my Chromecast, it's slower in the apps.. but tbh tv warmup, tv guide, changing channels, inputs and operations arent bad, but I wouldn't say it's great. The tv would be a 'good' overall in my pretty cynical and picky standards. Would I buy it again? Probably.

Thank you for sharing, I guess I'll stick to the Sony's LGs and Samsung's unless the 65 inch falls under the $1k price hehe

          Just buy a Chromecast.

          • @adamshere: I have one however I prefer to not have to add anything else if I'm buying a new TV. I'm also interested in LG and Sony maybe ill wait whichever comes on a really good sale

I also have the 75", i dont think it is laggy at all, i am very happy with it

This TV uses the newer Pentonic 700 Mediatek CPU which is the same as the C855 models. It also comes with 32GB storage and 3GB of RAM (Memory). This is good for a TV. Cheaper P series models come with a Realtek CPU (Slow and unresponsive) and 2GB of RAM.
The issue with the current 2024 TV's is that TCL are still perfecting the firmware, but it should get there eventually.

Got the 65inch version about 2 weeks ago and haven't found it to be laggy at all. It did do a firmware update as part of the initial setup.
For $1152 during Bing Lee sale, I'm very happy with it.

      • 75-inch C755 for $1152? That is a fantastic deal! When was that ? Would have definitely jumped on it if I’d known.

        • +1

1152 was the 65, the 75 was 1492, i predict you will see this same price within the next couple of months

      • Thank you phila that's the sale I missed out on ☹️ thank you for sharing your experience I'll keep waiting if this falls to this price again I'm buying

  • Does anyone have strong conviction in the c755 vs c855 debate?? Is the c855 worth the extra? I was in Moore Park JB the other day and got the strong sense the c745 and c755 are going to see some heavy discounting for black friday

    • I've read plenty of comments on the c855 being superior, however I recently bought a c755 (since I wanted 55") and it is a beautiful TV.
If the c755 is heavily discounted I'd say choose it over the c855 full price as you won't be disappointed.

For anyone with a 28 Degrees card, I recently had success price protecting my JB HiFi TV against this ebay seller, could be good if you want this deal but don't trust the seller
