  • Ding ding ding!

    • Same here. $1725. I tried to get the same deal for ozbargain members by sharing the receipt. Worked for some.

      • Yeah, not sure why I got so many negs for telling truth… because it's not a listed price??

        • Yeah the negs surprised me to but whatever really. Not sure what the rush is to get it at this price.

  • +1

Bing Lee has the 85" for $2,157 if anyone is able to find stock. BingLee

    • Won't JB price match?

      • It's sold out so probably not.

  • +6

The JB sale is 25% off TCL TVs of 65” or larger, sold by JB (non marketplace), but that discount doesn’t seem to be reflected on the JB site.

    What am I missing?

    e.g. https://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/tcl-85-c855-4k-uhd-premiu…

Ticket price $3140 so why isn’t the price displayed $2355 now?

    • +1

I'll be straight onto live chat when it opens and will be pushing for it to be that price

    • +1

Good point, the 75” should be $1,908 as the ticket price is $2,545

    • +1

If the 25% is genuine, it would bring the 98” C855 down to $4458.75. That’s a LOT of TV for the money.

      • except minimal stock

      • looks like it's 'selected TV's' although there is no mention of it on the ad.

        • Definitely get JB on chat or visit a store if you’re looking for a new TV as the email makes no mention of specific models.

          • +3

@Orrelljet: RRP pricing updated as im standing in store

  • +1

$59 shipping sheesh. Wonder if this will fit in the boot of an X3

    • +2

FYI, we collected a 65 inch TCL last year and it just fit in our MUX with the seats folded down. I reckon you'd struggle in an X3.

      • +2

        Disappointingly helpful, thanks!

      • +1

Yeah, TV's are painful. Not meant to lie them down for transport either which further complicates. 65" fits in a tray back Ute up against the cab, 75" might but would be pushing it.

        Delivery is well worth $59.

  • +1

Why is this 855 series mini-LED TV only has 3 star energy rating, while the cheaper 755 series mini-LED TV has 5 star rating?

    • +14

      Because it uses more energy.

    • +3

Primarily because it’s a considerably brighter TV. Similarly to why my old C1 OLED had about 450w power draw and new C4 version has ~700ish. Improvements in brightness reflect increased power.

      • Thanks for your explanation that makes sense.

  • I think the new batch of 855 has arrived in AU. It was planned in early Feb.

    • +2

What's the difference between the old and new?

      • +5

Its fresh out of the oven

      • +2

The same C855, but very low stock in AU from December, stores have to wait for the new containers.

    • +1

Betta electrical was expecting them late February. But they had like 25x 85” c855 for all of NSW so yeah. Obviously some larger retailers might get more but don’t expect too much stock.

Also if the info provided was correct the new models actually looked worse for more money. On paper at least less dimming zones etc.
edit: when I say new models I mean the actual new models not just new deliveries of c855.

  • +1

is it worth waiting for the 2025 spec TV's, or just go with the one?
$2771 for the 85" C855 looks like a very decent price,

    • Isn't it $2355? I'm gonna jump on this now

      • They have updated the list pricing to reflect tbe 25% now

        • +2

It's been jacked up hasn't it

  • Has anyone got the 855 working well for sports ?

Mine is horrible, sport setting does fk all

    • +1

      Ohhh no
Was going to get this TV. But i want a tv good for sports. Kayo at 4K

      • The link you shared just talks about how to update the TV, but there's nothing I could find in the thread about whether this actually improves it for sports.

        • +1

Ditto, I read quite a bit of that thread and didn't find anything related to sports. There are the mentions of people running unofficial updates, then equal problems with those updates

          • @OzBargaincreeper: FWIW I popped into the Good Guys today and checked the C855 (65" I think). They only had the demo video playing, but I noticed zero issues with fast movement 🤷. No ghosting or anything. I'm not sure if the demo video is a good representation though.

            • +1

@Tamtu: I used grok ai and it gave me a bunch of settings, it has improved it a fair bit but a spinning AFL ball still has ghosting. At least the players don't have it anymore

              • @OzBargaincreeper: Thanks @OzBargaincreeper. It's pretty weird (but unsurprising) that the demo video has such different results to "real world" sport. Perhaps something to do with the frame speed of the source. Would you still recommend this as a purchase? I don't watch AFL, but lots of cricket. Probably not much difference in TV requirements though.

                • +1

@Tamtu: I honestly don't know if id would recommend.

It looks 10/10 for animated shows and for kids stuff, great for movies

Probably give it a 5/10 so far for sports

My previous two TVs were Samsung's, they were more of a 7/10 for everything

Maybe get them to put live sport on the TV instore, maybe they can get the settings correct

                  • @OzBargaincreeper: Thanks for the detailed reply. That's got me thinking twice now. Good idea about asking for live sports in the store. I'll go check it out.

    • Hisense and TCL aren't known for great motion handling.

  • +4

$2355 honoured for the 85" over live chat

    • Well done…

    • +1

I got them to do the 75” for $1908

    • Ah they have now ipdated the RRP pricing..

      • +1

Yep, updated the ticket prices. Gonna swerve this one if it's sht for sport, continue to wait for a decent qd-oled price

        • you could update the software manually via USB, rather than waiting the official one.

    • The online rep acknowledged the error and still honored the the price $2,355. However when I tried to pay it says delivery is not available. I guess I need to get back to the support again.

      • If you’re not able to use your link due to stock, I’d appreciate if you can PM me yours :)

    • Any chance you can share the receipt? Thanks 👍

  • +1

Ok, here's the go, I went into store and someone stuffed up big time.
Website is wrong, and it should be fixed by midday. Staff are aware and honouring 25% off the website tickets price.

85" wouldn't fit for me due to the stand locations and had none in stock anyway so went with the 75" for $1909 and $60 delivered tomorrow.

They just had a shipment in and have 20 75" in stock at Noarlunga S.A

Edit: just noticed they updated ticket pricing. Damn.

    • Do you know what the stand location sizings for the 85" are? Not entirely sure if it will fit on my existing tv unit!

      • +1

From memory because I measured in store, it was 1.4m from stand to stand

If they had just put a big centre stand in the middle like everyone else

        • Thanks! Damn that's quite deep, might have to go for 75"

          • +1

@SevenSmurfs: Just confirming it’s a few mm over 1.4m after measuring mine just before.

  • +1

For some reason they aren't delivering the 85" in melbourne?

    • Same here. If I choose C&C I can only see stores in NSW.

      • +1

Just called, its all gone for 85" in VIC and only choice is 75"

Jump onto live chat to honour the $1908 old ticket pricing

  • This deals makes me happy i grabbed the 85 inch c855 for $2100 in October. This is still a lot of tv for a pretty good price though and is probably the last batch of them.

  • +1

How is this for watching sports? Only thing I use TV for is sports.

    • Same reason I want a new tv too. I was eyeing this for awhile because of the great reviews but noticed a bit of blurring during motion in store

    • I find it nice for AFL and the AO.
Need to tweak settings tho: https://www.avforums.com/threads/tcl-c855-4k-qled-mini-led-t…

      • 2nd time youve linked this irrelevant thread..

      • Would rather one that works out the box for AFL

    • +1

Do you even read the thread…?

  • Live chat honoured the 25% promotion for the old ticket price. I grabbed the C755 85" TV for $1590 + Delivery.

  • +1

If you go on live chat and get Ben W try get someone else as he didn't honour the 25% off original ticket price

  • +3

For anyone in NSW wanting the 85" for $2355
    https://direct.jbhifi.com.au/AU255-A6PQ92

    • +1

Thanks a ton man! Couldn't get live chat to honour the price. Ordered through your link.

      • You're welcome. Enjoy!

      • Can I grab a copy of the receipt to try my luck please?

    • Can you do more? Keen

    • +1

I also have a link if needed, expires midnight for $2355. I couldn’t end up using it as no delivery options for me.

      • can you send it to me please?

  • +2

Can anyone post a receipt/offer of the 75 @ $1908? I’ve been through 2 different live chat operators already who won’t budge of price even after mentioning price error.

    • I dont think it works anymore

      • Annoying because I was originally speaking to them this morning when the ticketed price was $2545 and they still wouldn’t honour. Best I could get was $20 off. How are others getting it for $1908, is there a policy I need to link or just purely luck of the draw?

        • +2

I just went into store and explained what's happening. They knew, and the guy was happy to honour it. He said "Im not the one whos going to get into trouble and I love helping people so its not a problem."

          Here's my receipt. Good luck,

          https://photos.app.goo.gl/mhqWpC2bEWa3Qa9M7

          • @Aliensf: did you look at the c755? what made you spend the extra ~600

            • @deed03: Yeah I saw the 755. The 855 is better overall when it comes to brightness and picture

  • Considering picking up the 65" for another room. Got the LG C4 in recent weeks and loving it but don't think I need to splurge on another since it won't be getting as much use.

Really don't want to go into the store to purchase this one if I can avoid it but since I purchased that C4 from JB a few weeks back every single purchase I try and make via JB Hi Fi I get an order cancelled email because it's "failed verification" I responded to the email that they tell me to get in touch with and the person that responds is just brutal, not offering me any reason why it failed only putting in bold:

We recommend purchasing directly in store for future purchases. Regrettably we have no way to bypass this.

Anyone else had similar? I read a few threads regarding multiple Perks accounts, we have two in this house so I don't think it's that.

  • +1

Ive got them to honor the 98" at $4458. Just working out if its worth holding for the 2025 models?

Anyone know what the bump in quality etc is?

    • +1

Only the TCL 6mk had been reviewed for 2025. It's their budget TV, lowest model. Great colour and blooming control. Just not very bright.

There's two models above the 6mk, reviews coming in a few weeks. 7mk and 8mk.

I'd Get this deal on the 98 if you can. But if you miss out you'll get a great 2025 tv if you're happy to wait.

      Found a comparison video.

      https://youtu.be/AH2bja7A22Y?si=wzMBohNirxWZ2KIb

    • Just tried over live chat, they acknowledged the price earlier this morning and even after escalating to a manger they wouldn't honour the $4458 price.

Best I could get was $5193, any chance of a screenshot to try my luck again?

    • My wife has told me I'm stupid to spend the $$ when we have a 3yo 85" Hisense Q8.. :'(

I have my cart link from JB for the 98" C855 that expirese tonight if anyone wants it..

      • Would love your link if you don't mind shooting it through?

  • +1

My local JB sales guys are dicks, flat refused to do free delivery with no stock in store and the pricing error online. Call good guys up the road and they do it no questions asked, stupid from stores under the same company. Satisfied with the 75 for $2096 delivered, congrats to those who got the cheaper price error honoured.

  • +1

Anyone got a receipt/screenshot of a 85C855 for $2355? Gonna try my luck with price protection….

  • Managed to get the C855 85” for $2100 delivered on October
After price matching with HN and then combined with 20% Perks.

    • I also got that same deal, pretty insane!

  • +7

I hope this isn't spammy, I've tried to collate all the TCL TV deals at the moment

Note: First digit, 6, 7 or 8, refers to the series, second digit 4 or 5, refers to the year it was released 2024 or 2025.
Please double check prices across these stores, often JB is only slightly more expensive than Harvey Norman. These were the cheapest prices at the time of collation.

    • +2

The c855 was released in 2024 though?

      • I guess it's late 2024 which makes it the new model for most of 2025.

        • +1

          or the '5' to mean the 'sale-clearance-year', 2025 😛🤩

TCL yearly clearance sale happen around March ish, lol.

C865 is likely to have a MINOR-improvement, but buyers can't defer forever 🤓

          Nice table 👍

  • okay guys with this TCL deal is 65 C745 better than the Samsung 65" Q60D QLED 4K Smart? I care more about the operating system and it being laggy . Lets say you had $1000-$12000 to spend on a 65 to 75 inch what would be your pick? Thanks, really appreicate it :)

    • SEE it @ the JB-Hifi store, side-by-side…..YOU will know the answer. If in doubt, repeat again & again, lol

    • Why care about the OS?

Just connect a chromecast, apple tv, nvida shield or even a hubbl device.
