All Pro models should come with minimum 16GB RAM.
The only reason this particular MBP exists is for a headline price point. Although why anyone would pony up the $ for 1tb SSD instead of just getting the real MBP with min 16GB RAM and a few other features is a mystery
I would rather have half the storage for double the ram. You can always use an external ssd, but no external ram. Sadly 😂
Welcome to the year 2004
Anyone who pays above 2500 for 8gb should be ……
…paddled 16 times, by an 8GB MacBook Pro
This we call the crossing of the desert.
And this we call the unblinking eye.
And this we call the paddling of the swollen arse… with paddles.
In Soviet Russia, the M4 runs the MacBook Pro
and they claimed its only cost them 10k USD to obtain it)
I’m the biggest apple bitch there is but $2700 for a laptop with 8gb ram is 100% insulting.
Yeah, I have zero problems with 8GB in a M1 mac mini as a daily machine, but Apple are totally taking the piss on their high end machines.
Particularly now they're going all in on AI stuff. You can only optimise so far.
Agreed.
Hopefully the Windows arm devices do well - should put a bit more downward pressure on Apple pricing.
I’ve actually got a Snapdragon powered Surface Pro 11 for work. There’s a few compatibility quirks but it’s otherwise been a perfect laptop. The first windows laptop I’ve ever owned that I like as much as my Mac. Clients ask “what is that?” alllllllll the time. And it’s only going to get better.
I am surprised BMW isn't filing for copyright infringement lol
M3, M4 etc
So my current 2012 macbook pro also with 8gb ram been running fine for 12 yrs, if I can get a 16gb one, can it run well for another 25 yrs?
8gb = swap file = ui lag
never "runs out" and crashes but you can notice when it digs into the SSD for memory
small stutters on m1 mac mini and mbp13 that you don't get on 16gb skus
$2700 —> 8GB RAM
😐
