Here at Cumberland City Council we are committed to upholding our vision of a vibrant and resilient environment for current and future generations. Planting native trees and shrubs in the LGA increases canopy cover, reduces urban heat and creates habitat for local biodiversity.

Council is giving residents the opportunity to take home up to 2 native plants at our free plant giveaway.

Residents get to pick from a selection of 6 native species of trees, shrubs and groundcovers to take home.

Plants will be limited to two trees per household and proof of address will be required.

  • Good luck finding anywhere in the Cumberland Council area that isn't paved in concrete to plant it! Good deal though.

  • Would have preferred for them to give the money back to their residents and they could spend it however they wanted.
