Finally the price has dropped to something decent during the sale period. I didn't need an 8l pot so this is better for me.

Not as good as the recent Spotlight sale but it's available and nearly ATL on Amazon.

Price History at C CamelCamelCamel.
This is part of Amazon Prime Big Deal Days sale for 2024

  • $70 from spotlight not long ago. great cooker.

    • Sadly I missed out.

  • Have a look at the camels, this is another Amazon fake sale.

Its been $118 to $120 for most of August and September, price was only just raised in October to $160 and now back to its normal price.

Not against you OP, but fake Amazon sales suck.. Once the ACCC finish with Woolies and Coles they need to sort Amazon out.

    • Well according to 3camels, this is on par with a short period at the end of August.

"most of August and September" ? According to the 3 camels graph it's been all over the place and from what I see the proportion of days where the price was over $130 was higher than when it was below $120.

Feel free to rant or neg all you like but how about you show us where we can get the same cooker for less at the moment?

I'm not ranting, it looks like you are.
I'm just calling out that this is a fake Amazon Prime Day sale.

Fake Amazon sale suck, we shouldn't be promoting them.

Here is the most of August and September for you.

        • I repeat "I see the proportion of days where the price was over $130 was higher than when it was below $120." Isn't that what your graph shows?

And if it's a fake sale then show us where we can get one cheaper right now. I have no interest in promoting Amazon, but if you are in the market for one of these ATM then the post is totally within the spirit and letter of this website.

And if pointing out the flaws in your statements counts as a rant, well……..

@gadget: You are taking it personally… it's a neg for the 'deal' not for you.

Maybe we need to post this every time it hit's $120s which was 21 times in the last 6 weeks.
You might also want to update your post as the all-time low is of $117.96 ;)

@Jessie Ryder: Edited. Thanks for that.

Not taking it personally as far as the deal goes. I simply took issue with your incorrect statement on the level of price fluctuations in August and September. Is it a "fake" sale? Maybe, but it's still a good deal on a well regarded cooker.

Eye see where you're coming from with regards to Prime day sales advantageous marketing approach. However the reality is that this is near abouts the best price for this particular instant pot model, the Spotlight steal was an anomaly, and this is still a bargain if you're after a 5.7l duo plus.

  • We have an 8L pro version and a 5.7L. Our main appliance is the 8L. The extra room is great for batch cooking.

    • We have a "normal" pressure cooker of about the same size as the 5.7l which has served us well. I guess it depends on how many people you need to cook for.

However having the set and forget of an electric cooker is a boon compared to having to adjust the stove heat to avoid over pressure.

      • Completely agree on the electronic pressure cookers. Both my devices are InstantPot. We got the 5.7L first. It does do most things but it is nice to have the extra space. Most of our cooking is the 8L and the 5L is things like rice, potatoes, etc.
