I'm $30 off getting $5 back (with their $5 credit per $100 spent deal)

  • will amazon pricematch ?

Another sign of stores price gouging since covid. Could never get more than 20% off at supercheap pre covid now it's 25-30!

    • +12

Almost nobody ever connects the dots that "big sale" means "big profit margin every other day"

      • +1

The supermarkets have been copping it - but everyone is doing it.

      • Yes, essentially what Kmart does with always low prices nowadays.

Don’t ruin the fun with your research and facts mate.

But facts don't care about your feelings..

It's not "price gouging" (except for Colesworths, who were given special treatment), it's inflation caused by the Progressive women who now dominate medicine becoming hysterical and demanding everyone be locked in their homes, causing the economy exactly the kind of massive problems every rational person at the time said it would.

      • Did you take that from the bubonic plague handbook?

I might be getting the trolley, a rubber mallet and an air filter for the honda

Anyone can recommend me good towels for ceramic coating

    • To apply the coating, you use the microfiber and foam applicator pad that normally comes with the coating.
To remove the coating or general microfiber towels, I'd recommend the costco towels.

  • Looking to purchase a CarPlay head unit, has anyone purchased one from SCA and can make a recommendation?

    FWIW: 2016 MQ triton

    • Highly recommend the Sony's, especially this one: https://www.supercheapauto.com.au/p/sony-sony-xav-ax5500-app…

I've been using the older model XAV-AX5000 which I bought for around $450 on sale 3 years ago. Its been trouble free and runs my aftermarket speakers + subwoofer. Been using it with a wireless dongle so I don't need to plug anything in and it connects on android auto within 20 seconds of hopping into the car

How do u justify $700 on a head unit especially in this day and age?

        • +2

Some cars (especially from 2016) don't have built in navigation and CarPlay/Android Auto? And if you buy a new car in this day and age, you're paying $700+ for the head unit? Pretty justified if you ask me

          • @AngryAlfred: Fair. But u could get them for 100 or 200. Is it Sony tax?

            • @iDeker: where?

              • @keongyip: Ali express

                • +1

@iDeker: OK. Apples to oranges. This is a branded unit. The head units from AE are probably running Android. They're slow and underpowered in that price range. That's before I say they are buggy, require constant maintenance and have questionable quality. Sure, they could do the job but if you are after something that just works all the time, get a branded unit. And I'm not saying all branded ones are good. Each to their own but make a fair comparison.

                  • @keongyip: I assume Sony would be #1 brand for this, who would be a step lower then if we going by bigger brands

                    • +1

@iDeker: Not sure about Sony being #1. I ended up with a Kenwood in my FJ and am happy, but that unit retails for just over 1k. Had Sony and Pioneer in the past, both were pretty good. Kenwood makes wider models specific to some Toyotas (200mm wide opening). I'd pick a Kenwood over a Sony, but the Pioneer has a slicker inferface than the Kenwood.

        • You mean $489?

      • +2

Thanks mate I’m going to pick up the one you recommended tomorrow.

Did you have to buy an aerpro facia or any other extras?

Last time I was there they only had a young fella who had no idea about anything

        • +1

You'll almost certainly need a fascia kit and a couple of wiring harness adapters.
Have a look at your car on the Aerpro website and then order all you need thru Supercheap today

        • Definitely need a aerpro fascia based on the model of your car, and a wiring harness if you don't want to deal with making anything permanent or cutting into your existing wiring. You might find bits and pieces cheaper here: https://frankiesautoelectrics.com.au/

I agree with @dollaridoos, the Sony carplay units are fantatstic. I have the base model XAV-AX3000 and its been essentially flawless for almost 5 years now.
The only issue I had was the rear camera plug wiggling loose earlier this year and I just had to pull the unit out and replug the cable which took 5 minutes.

    • yup the sony units are great

  • Oof, spent $100 yesterday and was about to go and spend $30 today. How long do they take to issue the price difference credit? Would like to use it on the $30 item whilst on sale if possible

  • Do the sales apply to the special order stuff?

  • AutoBarn have 20%-30% selected-products, ending 12-Oct…the economy need your-spending.

    • Repco sales until 13-Oct.

  • Doesn’t apply to clearance products, but for an hour or so today there was a 20% discount on clearance products.
SCA seem to suck at running their website today.
Edit - 20% off applies to clearance again

  • You have to love the overseas developers. Its hardcoded to QLD time. Started 45 mins ago and the countdown timer is still running down.

    • It says AEST?

      • The website prices have changed already

    • You'll love them even more when you hear that all of the sale prices were accidentally started in the night around 1am 😂

      • Classic SCA…

    • encountered this issue on Wild Earth's website the other week. Their sale was pulled at midnight AEST, but the countdown timer was using my local time leading me to think i still had 2 hours … poor form coders.

  • https://www.supercheapauto.com.au/p/pro-quip-pro-quip-water-… been eyeing this

same price as every other (profanity) discount deal

  • Supercheap sucks. Nothing is cheap there, even when on clearance. Got this at Bunnings on clearance a couple of days ago for $60.00 -

  • Anyone else finding so much stuff N/A?

    • It was doing that to me yesterday afternoon. I logged into a private browser and it worked for a lot for the items.

  • Spent a few hours this morning figuring out if anything was worth it.

Mostly isnt, generally speaking, between supercheap, autobarn, repco, sparesbox and automotive superstore, you can find equally good prices elsewhere, and if you cant.. theres always pricematching.
