[SUBS, Prime] House of Spoils (2024 Blumhouse), Previously Saved Version, Asphalt (2024) Movie Available to Stream @ Prime Video

71

another new release movie straight to stream.

I swear I was recommended the trailer for this on YouTube a week ago as if hyping it up for the movies.

From Blumhouse Television, House of Spoils follows an ambitious chef (Ariana DeBose) as she opens a restaurant on a remote estate where she battles kitchen chaos, crushing self doubts… and a haunting presence who threatens to sabotage her at every turn.

others worth mentioning:

Previously Saved Version (2024, Japan SciFi):

In the year 2200, a couple resides in an idyllic space colony, living a blissful married life. The wife is actually an android, her physical form preserved, while her memories have been repeatedly recreated by her husband in an attempt to revive their previous happiness. As he continues to reconstruct her, suppressed memories begin to surface, unveiling the hidden secrets of their marriage.

Asphalt City (2024):

(I watched this it was great. story involving first responding paramedics. but a bit brutal be prepared)
https://www.primevideo.com/detail/Asphalt-City/0SMVEYZ35HY2J…
Paramedic Ollie Cross (Tye Sheridan) courses through adrenaline-fueled nights in an ambulance for the New York City Fire Department in Brownsville, Brooklyn while spending days studying for med-school exams in a Chinatown hovel. Working alongside seasoned first responder Gene Rutkovsky (Sean Penn), Cross discovers firsthand the chaos and awe of a job that careens from harrowing to heartfelt.

Hypnotic (2023):

Determined to find his missing daughter, detective Danny Rourke instead finds himself spiraling down a rabbit hole while investigating a series of reality-bending bank robberies where he will ultimately call into question his most basic assumptions about everything and everyone in his world.

The Dry 2: Force of Nature (2024):

(watched both 1 & 2 but 1 was much much better. actually good and not just for an Aus film but good overall. Dry 2 was meh ..worth watching just got Eric Bana. also 2 should have a different title because so little is related.)

hopefully they fixed subs for the foreign movies.
last time I watched one on prime the subs were coming up on screen when nobody was speaking and they seemed completely unrelated like public transport information. had to stop the movie because the subs weren’t making sense.

it’s a blumhouse movie either you like it or you don’t.

btw do people really not watch movies based on online scores?

I watched some pretty high rated movies which were absolutely terrible. and low rated ones which I liked the summary of and were great. 💁‍♀️

..there was also this not too highly rated “classic” suggested to me and it was terrible. found it Frantic with Harrison Ford. after 1 hour of him running around in circles with little explanations he still hadn’t found his wife! turned it off.

Reviews - both professional and user are a good filter when there is so much content.

I've enjoyed the occasional low rated movie and hated better rated movies.

things are much simpler for me. I barely watch anything ancient and just focus on new releases. if the trailer is good or the summary/story sounds interesting I will watch it. the number of new movies coming out is slow enough I don’t think there are too many choices.

I guess your age matters too.

many “flawless” and classic movies have been suggested to me and they were so boring (I am being as kind as possible here 😂).

also some people have the opinion no good movies have been made since the 90’s or something.

can someone explain this, I want to watch the movie Warlords https://www.justwatch.com/au/movie/the-warlords
I remember it being good but there is nowhere it’s available why?? (also uhoh 45% it’s trash 😂)

No offence, but going by your post history you're a bit weird. It's not surprising your film tastes skew towards horror and it's not reflective of the general populace.

Great for people in blumhouse films, but they are - critically speaking - shit. Which is fine, liking things outside of the norm is ok.

        • I wouldn’t say I only watch horror.

I also prefer brooding cosmic type horror compared to “boo! I scared you!” or torture porn. I thought “The Menu” wasn’t good, not even mid. this House Of movie looks similar.
trailer for The Menu drew me in with the “what’s actually happening” but watching it was very disappointing.

and I think you assumed I want to watch all the streaming movies I posted? nope not a blumhouse fan. thinking of giving Hold Your breath a watch though.

want a recommendation from me? I liked “The Reflecting Skin”. you can find it on YT if you put in a bit of effort. 🙂

want to know what I don’t like?? A24 movies. because they try to make brooding abstract and extreme weirdness “trending” so I think they are pretty terrible.
