Normally $59.80 and according to the Camels it has not been discounted for a while. This brand gets good reviews and I’ve been in the market for a nice double sided Japanese saw. I like these because the cut is on the pull stroke which makes it easier to cut straight.

For Rip & Cross Cut, Blade Length: 240mm (9.5"), Blade Thickness: 0.5mm (0.02"), Pitch: 1.67mm (TPI 9&15), Kerf Width: 0.8mm (0.03"), Overall Length: 59cm (23.2")

There’s still a place for the traditional saw but the Japanese saw is also a handy tool.

I got one of these as a gift it's amazing it actually cuts though timber faster than a circular saw I've tested it super sharp , accurate, unbelievably good highly recommend.

Same. Thought it was a bit of a gimmicky gift. I'm surprised how often i use it.

    • +4

Can confirm, have cut myself 50% of the time i've used these types of saws.

Did it cut through you as well as a circular saw?

    • ''cuts though timber faster than a circular saw"

You must have some rapid hand action, or very thin wood.

        or a bad frisbee throw

Would you recommend this for gardening? E.g. cutting branches etc

      • +2

Yes absolutely I've used mine on most jobs .

      • +2

I'd get a silky for that, you'd be wasting the teeth on this doing those sorts of jobs, and the blade is probably going to be annoyingly broad for maneuvering between branches.

      • +1

I broke mine after a while of swinging this thing like a samurai at small branches.

Cool and ergonomic (super light with great handle) but the metal is thin and delicate in that way where it will eventually fail mechanically.
