Quality has significantly dropped since Aldi got rid of the platinum tablets

      • Doubt it, I'd say just clearance in certain stores. I've been to half a dozen different Aldi and they aren't there.

come north young man. boxes everywhere on the Gold coast.

Was in aldi yesterday and it appears that the platinum tabs are on clearance being replaced with liquid pods which were 11.99 iirc, so if you like the plat tabs grab some while you can.

Dishwashing Tablets are just another invention to solve a problem that never existed.

Better to use powder properly, ie in both wash and prewash, with rinse-aid in the dispenser.

    • I don't mind paying a premium to avoid powders being spilled around my dishwasher. Same goes with laundry liquid.

      • Spilled outside? You are doing it wrong. Open the bottle cap over the open dishwasher door.

The " Household Consumer goods" industry, like cosmetics, is very good at convincing people something is better simply because it costs more. This leads to an interesting phenomenon of negative elasticity of demand.

Back in the day, I tried every brand of tablet and powder, until realising I just needed a better dishwasher.

        • I'm not doing it wrong, but other people can't be trusted.

        • You don't have kids do you?
Not everyone is in the same boat…..

          • @Jessie Ryder: I even trained the kids to load the dishwasher correctly. (mostly)

This. I had a kogan dishwasher , which replaced my dead LG. The LG was reasonable, the kogan was okayish. The kogan died 3 months ago (i got 5 years out of it - it was brand new and was free). I replaced the kogan with a Euromaid (or similar sounding name) and the difference is visibly noticeably better. Im so much happier with the current machine - even with using the cheapo bunnings tablets or woolworth shine tablets .

Michael J Fox, is that you?

I sometimes use powder as a pre-wash with a tablet if particular dirty load, but prefer tablets, ease of use and also I find the results are better than powder + rinse aid.

    • 17c so the kids can put the dishwasher on… I'm happy with the 10-12c tax for that. because it means they're responsible for stacking correctly & washing anything that is dirty as a result of crappy stacking when they empty it in the morning.

I don't get the relevance, but I enjoyed the read.

Op's closing line. Tis an oldie but a goodie!

  • I'm tempted to downvote these "ALL IN ONE" tablets. I bought a box after these replaced the Platinum 18 in 1 box of tablets. These are significantly worse. I almost threw half a box out they were that bad.

    Save your money.

The gel capsules logix are quite good though much more expensive than the old 18 in 1 tablets.

Yep if you have really dirty dishes and a really full load these tablets are not up to the task.

I am using these for light loads and never buying them again after going through the rest of the pack.

      Was such a let down.

  • At my local for the past few months both the standard box and the platinum box seems to have been replaced with the 45 pack "all in one". I haven't had any problems with any of the ALDI tablets, be it the cheaper standard box, the platinum, or the new "all in one".

How about we just post all the aldi branded products lol

    • Ok. You go first

  • I've been using these and had zero issues with performance

    • Same here. I do my dishes once a week (imagine dry caked on food), and my dishes come out spotless. I find that they work better without the wrapper and when tossed at the bottom of the dishwasher.
