crikey they were $250 not that long ago
Also consider the Reolink Duo Floodlight PoE for $229.49. Also comes in a Wifi version. I believe Reolink is superior to Tapo.
reolink is less bright according to specs though
Well, which do you value more, the image or the light? I'd go the image. Look it up on YT, pretty impressive for the $ IMO.
oh thats cool the poe version gets is power for the lights from the ethernet cable too
the wifi version needs 12v power
vs TP-Link which is standard ac power
Means on paper tplink needs an electrician for installation.
Is PoE means plug into the modem port? No electrican?
Yes but you’ll need a Poe switch. Your regular supplied by Telstra/optus etc will not have it.
Ok thanks
I think the difference between the two is that one is designed to work in place of your existing light or floodlight (hence the 220V hardwire and wifi), while the other is intended for setups where there's already a poe and ethernet cable running to the location.

Does anyone know if the floodlight function can be left on at night in low power mode and activate to full power mode once it detects?
idk, i'd like to know whether the home assistant integration can control the lights separately to the camera, and then i can do that with home assistant
Been waiting for the price drop from $244, ordered one from OW using PBG for $179.55
lemme know if it integrates with home assistant and the lights are controllable separately please.
I have this. Had it installed by electrician with conduit to the top of an outdoor power plug for $200.
Keep in mind where you install it that there are no walls or surfaces that the light can reflect off. Mine is in a corner that has a structural column sticking out and when the lights turn on the image is cloudy and hard to see at night. The image is better with the lights off actually.
You can't control the lights separately. I actually feel it's quite limited to what you can control. Also I feel the sensitivity of the motion sensor to turn the lights on is pretty crap. On 9/10 it still needs me to be within 3 or so meters to turn on. On 10/10 it seems to turn on from some random movement outside. You can set the detection area but didn't seem to help much. YMMV.
i thought you could set it to turn on when it sees a person rather than just motion. does that help?
Not the floodlight specifically. These are the only settings for motion for the lights to auto on. https://imgur.com/a/OKlrhN5
what does the camera toggle do?
@FoxJump: It's just the same camera detection settings for whole system. Of I have that enables, it also turns on randomly even if I have it for person and animal detection, not just motion. And I have the detection area setup. But still, turns on from the plants moving or something. Very annoying.
I thought that in the app there was a menu thingo for the light in the camera card?
How this compare to the eufy floodlight from last deal. For this I can stick to my Tapo ecosystem app.
