ShopBack Amazon Rejected Cashbacks 16th July 2024

Hi All,

Courtesy announcement to check your shopback account.

Half of my Amazon cashbacks from Amazon Prime Day sales - 16th July 2024 have been rejected. Which of course means the bank bonus now also rejects.

Please respond if you are in the same situation. Will reach out to shopback for an explanation.

Since this appears to be an issue for a lot of users, I have reached out to the Shopback Australia Manager directly.

Will update with more information when I hear anything.

    Same date of purchase 16 July. Only very small amount of cash back + bonus if approved. I don't trust Shopback for Amazon and PureVPN (both rejected). No problems with the other two cashback companies.

    Better choose the other competitors for most cashback transactions.

    They’ve been bad since fall of 2023, think a change of management… I’ve stopped using and posting deals from them since.

    Eventually mine was approved out of goodwill (it wasn't a large amount) so good luck everyone… I have let GYB know on the 27th about the issue, and linked a few comments to him to show it's widespread. It was my second ever time using SB. Both CR and TCB orders unaffected.

  • I've had issues with quite a few of my Amazon ones - some tracked at the incorrect rate, some were rejected. I've contacted support about them all. They've fixed all of them so far that they've responded to - a few are still incorrect, but I haven't had a response yet, so I'm assuming it's in their backlog to look at.

    Some were fixed as "bonus payments" rather than fixing the actual cashback, I'm concerned one of them being a bonus means I won't qualify for the "$3 bonus for $30 spent" because there's no longer a valid tracking since they paid it via bonus.

    They were all < $15, most were < $5.

      • I didn't neg you. The other 2 cashback companies are still good for me, never fail for trackings and payments. Even recently TopCashback has become faster to confirm my pending cashback transactions.

      @gotyourback This appears to be a mass rejection from Amazon. Is there not a better way to do this rather than everyone having to DM you?

      The bot on the app rejected me when i did a dispute. Raise a dispute on the webpage but no reference. Hopefully you can inform the back team?

      Why dont you fix it from your end instead of making everyone email in?
      It seems to be a structural problem - the old GYB would 100% fix this and also keep us informed

      I did emailed the team on Saturday but yet to hear back from them.

    • I emailed on October 2, the confirmation email said I’d hear back in 1-2 business days. It has been 5 since then.

        • Been another week, and still no response, even despite your promises below, my Amazon cashback is still declined and associated bank bonuses. Disappointing.

  • 1 order of 2 items: Amazon both rejected (with doubled entries) but 1 of 2 bank bonuses was confirmed lol…

  • Is anyone also seeing transactions which are in confirmed status but at $0 from Amazon for 16th July 2024?

    Seeing this, I scrolled through some more previously tracked Amazon transactions, and look like there are others which are confirmed at $0 on other days too.

    • Yes I have some @ $0 "confirmed" as well, however these aren't for the 16th July, they are from the 21st July, so I may have bought from a 0% category on that day for the bank bonus. It's too hard to track, I made like 20 transacitons lol.

  • The 1st and 2nd that the purchases were made on 16/7 rejected, and the another 8 of them within the same prime period tracked $0 (some are 0% category though). I have disputed 1st and 2nd, and group the rest of the $0 ones with all order summaries in PDF and emailed to them on last Saturday. They responded the 1st on Sunday, credited the cashback "as a gesture of goodwill" as they didn't receive commission from Amazon. I have also got an automated reply for my email that they said they'll get a human to look at it soon.
    On the other hand, TCB tracked all 3 purchases made on 16/7 and paid already.

  • There's still issues for me too. All my standard cashbacks for this period are still marked as rejected. 3 out of 6 Westpac bonus cashbacks have been confirmed, and the other 3 are still rejected too.

    Use Cashrewards or TopCashback..

    • Recently TopCashback has become faster to confirm my pending cashback transactions. Even PureVPN 130% cashback from 27 Sept, confirmed on 6 Oct. Incredible … Previous PureVPN 130% was 23 August, confirmed on 5 Oct.

      Meanwhile my previous PureVPN 130% purchase through Shopback didn't track. That was the first time failed tracking from Shopback for my account, then Amazon rejected cashback (not missing cashback). I didn't bother to claim missing cashback and got full refund from PureVPN instead.

      No problem with Cashrewards too for my transactions. Never fail for tracking and confirmed. Got profit from PureVPN 130% already and paid.

      Waiting for 2 PureVPN cashback profits from TopCashback :D

      So, PureVPN profit cashback is the new Boost Mobile profit cashback ;-) Still got very very tiny profit from last Boost Mobile cashback from TopCashback :)

    Mine 16/7 rejected. It tracked OK, met all criteria to qualify, no use of gift card, fully paid by STG card, no return. I sent evidence to show it did comply with all the criteria they originally listed as reasons for rejection i.e. was returned etc. This was the reply I received:

    "Unfortunately, Amazon won't process rewards for your recent order due to recent updates. This decision is influenced by factors like attribution to another marketing channel.

    Some other factors that may affect your cashback may also include:-

    • Clicking on another Chrome extension after clicking from ShopBack
    • Opening other web pages (including search sites, social media, store sites, promotional/discount sites) or web browsers after clicking through ShopBack
    • Clicking through to another page from a banner, pop-up, or advertisement on the store’s webpage while shopping
    • Antivirus/Cleanup or Adblocker applications blocking or disrupting Cashback tracking (Tracking cookies are required to track transactions)
    • Clicking on a banner/promo that appears on the Merchant's site after clickthrough from ShopBack"

    I know I didn't do any of these but, more important, it tracked. I would expect the reasons listed in their reply would have caused it not to track, not be rejected after pending.

    So the reasons for rejection now are completely different to those I initially received. Expected cashback $50 including bank bonus.

    Mine got rejected and they told me they won’t pay as I used a coupon but I didn’t - it was a subscribe and save 1st order. I pointed this out and they are still saying it’s not valid, then I requested it to be reviewed by a supervisor and now they aren’t replying….

        I thought the T&C said the subsequent orders weren’t valid but the first was? Where can I find the T&C from 16/7 to double check?

    What was a deal back then?

    All of mine either $0.00 or declined. Shopback is really unreliable now.

      1. Make sure the purchase tracks. If not, contact Shopback customer support.
      2. Sometimes the incorrect amount/wrong percentage has tracked, contact Shopback customer support
      3. If it successfully tracks, make sure it doesn't get rejected. If it gets rejected, contact Shopback customer support.
      4. Any other issues, contact Shopback customer support.
  • Mine isn't showing as tracked for July 19 but there is confirmed Westpac bonus for Amazon on that date.

  • How do you even talk to someone at Shopback? I've got Plus and it's still impossible despite "priority customer service". Clicking through the rejected cashback flow it says it is successfully tracked with Status: Rejected and it thinks that's okay. Wtf.

    Hey Folks! Checked on this with the team and they are currently looking into this issue - sorry for the troubles earlier and you guys will not need to write in to us as we will get this fix for everyone that is affected.

    • Got an update just now. Both my rejected cashbacks now tracked. But the other bank bonus that was rejected hasn't been fixed.

      • Yep, mine as well. Bank bonus may take a bit longer I would expect.

            can you also get the team to also check the confirmed transactions which came back as being $0 for around the same period?

            All of my transactions from 16th July, were either rejected (which looks like it is being corrected), or has been confirmed but at $0. If you could advise on whats happening with all those confirmed $0 ones as well that would be great.

            From memory, all categories had increased cashback, so nothing should have been tracked at $0. Thanks

              • @bohn: @gotyourback upon searching my emails, I see there was a second tracking of $30, different date, but exact same order number? you guys must have had some kind of glitch, and then just cancelled all of the trackings - duplicates and original? or something like that

                  The same thing happened to me, and they rejected the actual cashback and confirmed the $0 duplicate (the other duplicate was deleted)

                  (CS fixed it for me out of goodwill - it seems very dodgy by Amazon…)

    • Rejected cashback have been added as a bonus but the bonus bank cashback not added.

  • I have just got previous $3 bonus today that was missing because of rejected Amazon cashback previously (got it back). So, I have got amazon cashback + $3 bonus for previous transaction on July. Thank you @gotyourback for getting these back.

There were some transactions that was previously confirmed at a specific amount, but as of last week, these transactions have now tracked at $0 and have been rejected. Some bank bonuses are still missing, and all of the base cashbacks have either been rejected or tracking at $0.

          • @gotyourback: Aha, got the same with your shopback employee responses saying upon checking transaction with Amazon the amount was $0 so it got track at $0 so cashback not given, which is incorrect, the t&c did not state purchases using gift card is ineligible.

  • Same here. Glad I found this thread. I've tried contacting support. I find it really dodgy that (not all) rejected transactions are being processed as new transactions meaning some users won't get the spend bonus they're entitled to. My Cashrewards and TopCashback transactions were all approved without a problem. I was already growing tired of ShopBack before this… I still have pending Savvy Surveys transactions from July 2023.

    Given this stuff up I really think they should temporarily remove the $10.01 cashback withdrawal requirement.

    • I have savvy survey transactions from June still pending. I've got 9 overall that are overdue and some are only 5 cents. They always used to come through on time but the last 3-4 months they've been really slow and its getting worse.

      Also some of my previous savvy survey transactions that have been confirmed show up as weird amounts in my account - $3.06, $3.58, $2.93.

  • I've just found out I've got a Shopback rejection for my qualified Amazon order exactly on 16/07/2024…

    They don't even let me contact any human, just a chatbot trying to deter me away
