[Pre Order] Samsung 32" Odyssey OLED G8 UHD Gaming Monitor $1169.1 Delivered with $200 Trade up + 10% Loyalty @ Samsung

101

I just pre-ordered the Samsung 32" Odyssey 4K G8 OLED monitor for $1169.10 after $200 trade up and 10% discount.
Jumped on the chat and asked for a loyalty discount. I sent a screenshot of my S24+ serial number in exchange for a 10% discount code. Very straightforward.

Delivery from 28th October but I selected 6th November instead so that I can swap my old monitor.

It was out of stock last week and came back for pre-order today. Might not last long!
I also applied a 2.8% cashback ($32.60) on the order.

preording for games is dumb, but whats wrong with pre ording a product yk is good and is priced well?

  • Add extra 5% using app for first time too per this recent deal

I'm waiting for black friday to see if it goes sub-$1k, like the 34 UW G8 did

  • I've spoken to 3 seperate reps that all refused to acknowledge the existence of a loyalty discount.
Is there something I am missing?

    • I've had no problem getting loyalty codes in the past. I just list all the samsung products i own. It's sadly extensive.

I don't have success via chat, but do have good experience from either emailing [email protected] or calling retention team on 02 8293 5712

    • I got a link this morning with no issues, I asked for a loyalty discount for being a samsung customer. They asked me to send them the serial number of my phone as proof of being a samsung customer and then they sent me the code

    • I emailed using [email protected]
Gave the guy a few details and got a voucher this morning.

Is there a minimum spec for the trade-up monitor? Go grab one out of the bunnings e-waste bin.

    • Doesn't appear to be. Selected "32 inches or less, brand "other", confirmed it's in working condition. $200 off applied.

    • Never seen those bins - which Bunnings has them?

"Fully uninstall your old monitor (including draining) ready for collection (no packaging required)".

Ah, those good old plumbed monitors. They don't make these like they used to!

After all LCD = Liquid Crystal Display

  • Would samsung customer service be an issue if something goes wrong with the monitor? Compared to LG or Dell or even others.

I have a Samsung M7 43" monitor whose backlight went intermittent - one side of the monitor would sometimes go dimmer than the other.

I contacted their web chat and sent photos. Their local service agent called me shortly after and set a date to come over.

The service tech came over and replaced the whole panel in about 20 minutes. I'm using it right now.

It was an easy painless process for me. They even sent me some discount vouchers for TVs, phones, and tablets.

    • Yes. Dell has a really good RMA service.

      • For OLED’s Dell gives you refurbs - Samsung tends to give brand new panels or refunds - I know what I would choose for an OLED

  • I do like these are priced $1000 less than the competition

  • yo will i get 200 bucks off with a 10 dollar monitor on facebook market or for an old iMac? And will i get 10% loyalty if i give the serial number of a samsung phone?

How is student discount price looking at does anyone know?

    • It is $1424.05 on the EDU store and the trade up is only $25 max. I was told by the agent on the chat that the 10% loyalty discount doesn't work on the EDU store.

I would'nt preorder this before reviews. Literally no VESA HDR certifications, doesnt advertise peak brightness, doesnt mention if its OLED or QD oled. Just says "OLED" very vague when they generally make qd oled monitors.. Doesnt list color gamut properly. So many red flags. How do people throw money away like this ? Its beyond stupid.

This has been reviewed quite extensively. Search Samsung G80SD on rtings.

Main callouts: matt coating (subjective whether it’s good or bad), poor sRGB color gamut coverage (close to 75% rather than expected 99%), tizen OS/tv features (again subjective). And it’s a QD Oled panel, same one used by Dell and LG for their UHD 240 Hz variants. In fact, Samsung supplies to panel to Dell and LG.

  • Hi OP, did the website say anything along the lines of "This product is no longer available. Please choose another from the range" when it was out of stock? I'm wanting to buy it and trying to figure out if it's coming back in stock or not. Thanks.

    • Yes, it went out of stock initially and it had that same message about the product is no longer available. I thought I had missed out but then it came back with Pre-Order a few days later. I'm glad I waited. I would try waiting if you're not in a hurry.

      • Ok that's a relief, thank you!
