Best ever price for Pioneer's 'entry' level DJ controller?

FLX4 replaces the famous DDJ400 which you would be hard-pressed to find second-hand for less than this.

Rarely ever see this go <$500 from other major music/tech retailers.

I was thinking of becoming a DJ in the 3rd quarter of 2026 so got in early. Cheers

Great price! Great deck! I got mine for ~$440 a year ago, haven't used it much, but very easy to use and pick up for someone who hasn't dj'd.

My first real recorded mix - https://u.pcloud.link/publink/show?code=XZwJeX0ZfJ9RDRo0YrfV…

Doing the house work to this now. Great mix.

  • How do you use this without a laptop? Eg standalone or phone or iPad?

    • Can't use it standalone as you need the software. You can use rekordbox on ios.

      • Thanks! What do you think is the cheapest standalone controller with record box built in?

        • You start moving into the thousands for the XDJ ($3300). Better off starting with one of these and a laptop and practicing before you move up to the pro setups.

    • It's not a standalone device, but you can use phone/tablet.

  • Do you then have to buy a license for rekordbox?

    • Not with this, it unlocks rekordbox automatically for free when you plug it in.

Cool, I could quit my job and start travelling around to interesting places and make nice mixes like Chris Luno. Ah, need to raise these kids and get them out of the house first.

  • Is this a good beginner deck, and does anyone have some recommendations for good videos or channels to follow on YT?

  • Great Entry Level DDJ, I got it a few months back starting out and its been awesome, easy setup and free rekordbox so can't complain. Awesome Price for it too!

  • Anyone know what market price is for a well looked after DDJ-300?

I’ve got one that kept me occupied during lockdowns to offload.

  • Thanks OP,

Picked myself up a set to replace my beer damaged old set.

    Thanks for sharing

  • Good enough equipment to use as a dj for hire?
