just cancelled my order and reordered

I was monitoring the prices of WD 8TB HDD: elements & my-book over the last-week. After the announcement of $5 money-back & Amazon-sales, their prices went-UP, effectively taking the shine-OFF these deal, tricky 👎.

A few days ago, TopCashback had 0.5% money-back on my-items @ 'All Other Purchases (exclusions apply, see terms)'. Now, they have $5 + 1%.

      Why 421 up-vote ?

      WDBBKG0080HBK-AESN $287
      WDBBGB0080HBK-EESN $283

      • You still have to do the research, just buy from the cheapest place and not Amazon for the sake of it.

        • +1

This ends on the 13th, the TC one was for one day only and expired properly. You're linking to the store pages and not the bonus pages.

When tagging someone be sure to click the little box under the text box, or they won't get a notification.

      • Does WD-8TB-HDD qualify for money-back…recent experience ?
CashRewards noted 'Personal Computing 0.7%', & 'Other terms to be aware of: Category product classifications and eligibility for cashback are at the sole discretion of Amazon.'

        • yeh I got a powerbank - 0.7% was the quoted rate, not sure why you expect more. Should still be eligible for $5 bonus.

  • Any rules about gift cards?

      • Is buying GCs eligible?

        • Nah. Excluded!

          • @ThePeterGriffin: :(
Sorry for those dumb questions, I just read them in the post. I don't know why I didn't see it when I read it first time.

      • +2

        Yes, can pay using GC:

        Cashback is eligible for:
Purchase of products in an eligible category paid with gift cards.

        • I didn't see that. so we can use balance to pay but not buying GCs?

As it said "A Qualifying Purchase excludes the purchase of gift cards,…"

      • where are you getting that payment by gc isn't permitted? I can see that purchases of GCs isn't allowed, but I can't see where it says that using them isn't?

  • +2

    A bit confusing..

    Cashback is eligible for:
Purchase of products in an eligible category paid with gift cards.

Cashback is ineligible on the following:
"Purchases paid with any Amazon credit as partial or full payment."

Gift cards added to account are added as credit tho

    • lol, I doubt on my reading ability but not their writing

    • +5

Credit is different than gift cards.

    • +2
      • Ahh cheers. A bit confusing, All good. Let's see now if it tracks.

      • And that is exactly why you shouldnt go for these promo credit deals

        • +2

You can choose to not use credit by deselecting it from being used as a payment option in desktop mode if the goal is to get cashback and/or bonuses.

          • @Lucille Bluth: I have a deal - spend over $150 on qualifying item to save $15. When I go to cart it takes $15 "promotional credit off" (like a discount).

Will this invalidate my $5 from cashrewards? I can't seem to deselect the $15 that the offer is providing so that the $15 is stored as promotional credit to use on something else.

            • +1

@Bdawg: This should be fine from rep confirming that in the past. It's an issue when you manually enter codes or using promo credit from your available balance. Which isn't the case here. Shame there isn't a CR rep anymore to ask questions like this on ozb

              • @Lucille Bluth: Cheers. I'll give it a go.. $15 better than $5 anyway, but not as good as $20 I suspect!

    • Amazon credit is separate. Sometimes they have deals where you earn credit for future purchases, especially when buying GCs (Buy a $200 GC and get $10 Amazon credit)

    • probably best not to pay with gift cards or credit then(?)

Two more purchases of $50 kills it - means spending a lot more than most people were going to.. and bit pointless if you you can't use Amazon credit. The first $5 bonus is enough.

      • +2

Using the gift card balance already loaded into Amazon always works for these cashback deals, do use Gift cards. Credit is the promotional bonus Amazon gives you, or a refund on a product, dont use Credit.

        • Yeah pretty sure previous gift card-loaded credit is fine but didn't use it anyway in this case (want to claim 28d price protect on something and easier if the full amount).

          Cheers,

  • +2

The 1st needs to be $50 spend minimum, how about the 2nd and 3rd?

    • +2

From what is written there's no min spend for the 2nd and 3rd, they just have to be on separate days. I was mistaken, all purchases have to be $50+.

      Added to the description.

    • IMO, it reads like all three need to be $50+. The terms define a qualifying purchase as "spend a minimum of $50 (incl. GST) on any single transaction that is eligible for cashback" and the additional $5 cashback is awarded for two further qualifying purchases.

      • +3

So, if my understanding is correct, the maximum bonus is 2 x $5.

        $5 for the first $50.

Then to get the additional $5, you need to spend a minimum $50 x 2 transactions ($100+ total)

So the maximum bonuses is $10 (not $15), and minimum $150 spend across 3 transactions.

    • I think that another 2 “Qualifying Purchases” which means minimum of $50

    • +2

Banner says that each purchase must be $50 or more.

  • What does Including GST mean? So an order of $50.01 that is paid to Amazon, which includes GST, is valid?

  • +2

Now waiting for the upsized cashback and good deals.

    • +1

You are going to be waiting a long time for that second one, based on last prime day experience

      • Upsized now but seems no one posting it.

        Glad I'm holding. I'm legend ;)

        • You are right. The upsized offering is a total joke

          • @bohn: What's the 'upsize'?
            Amazon slow at tracking.

            • @G-rig: dunno, seems like basically nothing
got an email with the subject 'New categories boosted at Amazon - up 15% cashback ($25 cap)'

              • @bohn: Yeah not worth worrying about. If you get$5 from anything that would be it and call it a day.

                • @G-rig: yeah, as much as we can hope for in this shitty prime day 'sale' it seems

  • +1

Good stuff will sell out by the 2nd and 3rd day.

    • There is no limit. It won't run out.

  • Anyone knows how to add multiple subscribe and save items into one order to make it $50+ transaction?

    • +11

I think you add the item to the cart, NOT as a subscribe and save , add the other items, and then on the final checkout screen there is a box to turn it into a S&S.

      • Yep thats how to do it.

      • Thanks

      • +2

Woah I never knew this and always wondered! Thanks nephew!

    • Just remember subscriptions are excluded from this cashback

      • +4

        Subscriptions are streaming etc.
        Different to S&S.

  • -2

Damn so cannot buy GC for this promo

  • +1

Mmm still hasn't tracked several hours later.

    • +1

Amazon can take up to 48 hours. Usually much less.

      • Thanks hopefully it did track, got more shopping to do. Will use the $5 cashback offer from TopCashback for $40 spend as well

    • +1

same for me. placed an order last night, but nothing tracked yet.
      longest untracked purchase i've had.

  • Amazon divided my $50 purchase into 2 orders with separate order numbers, would that work for $5 bonus?

    • +1

AFAIK, if they were in the same transaction it's fine.

    • I don't think so because amazon will report it as multiple transactions.

      • Same thing happened to me, but CS confirmed it will be fine 👍
I'm still not confident it will work though, so I set a reminder for 23 October to check. (hopefully my email will help us if it doesn't track)

  • +1

Do you purchases from Amazon US via Amazon AU count for the $5 bonus?

      • Oops bad engrish

    • I would also like to know if items sold by Amazon US but bought on Amazon AU will also qualify for the offer?

      • My Amazon US via AU transaction has tracked along with the $5 bonus but both are still pending

        • +1

I'm thinking mine won't track for the bonus $5.

I purchased something for $49 on Amazon US and $2 for Amazon AU. Checked out both together and paid at $51.

However, it shows as two different transaction in my orders and also tracked separately from CR.

          • @stoodamire: Would you have bought them anyway?
Same transaction should be ok but just wait and see.

            Should say 5$ pending.

            • @G-rig: Wouldn’t have bought the $2 item.

              Wait and see. Fingers crossed.

              • +1

                @stoodamire: Spend $2 to get $5.
No point spending $49 though either.

  • I activated and bought stuff from Amazon.
How exactly do you check in cash rewards this $5 was applied?

  • +1

Is it stackable with Prime Saving $10 ($59 spend) promo?

    • Even I wonder the same. I think it won't as you have to use a promo code (PRIME10X1) for this so won't stack, but will be happy to be wrong.

      • +1

Those codes seem targeted anyway or don't work, so may not matter (tried to add to something this morning). $10 off would be better than $5 cashback.

    • I have a prime saving spend $150 or more and there's no code, it's automatically applied as a discount listed as "promotional credit". I'm assuming this will break cashrewards?

      • I'm not sure about that.
Mine is a tickbox before adding items to cart, so no code required as well.

  • Exclusions mentions "Items purchased from your Amazon wish list or 'saved for later' list."

Can anyone confirm that it is fine if you do not add directly from your wish list or from the saved from later list, but you can click on the item and then add to the cart?
Or do we need to delete from the list before searching and buying?

  • +6

    Still no tracking.

  • Hopefully it works.

  • Well, *one* of the items in yesterday's 2-item transaction just got tracked this morning at 30 something dollars..
No luck on the other one though so I guess that means I missed out… =(

    • I brought it yesterday at around 3pm, as at 10.30am this morning - still not tracking yet.

      • I made my orders around 8~10am.

Also I spoke too soon, the second one got tracked about 15 minutes later.

Just a bit weird that they weren't both at the same time. Hope it's still all eligible since they were the same order yet tracked separately.

  • Mine one transaction with multiple items tracked in two transactions, 17.64 and 38.89. So i guess not eligible for the bonus then?

  • I made a $51 order yesterday and it tracked at $27 so I take it that I will not get the $5 bonus?

    • Same. $53.90 tracked at $14.68

      • Now another $36.86 tracked

    • Yeah mine tracked as well now, 0.7% for electronics is pretty sad but means the bonus $5 should be fine.

  • Mine has also been tracked as two separate items :(

  • Worked for me, thanks OP. Need to make sure you haven't put the items in your cart already before going through Topcashback (but they pretty clearly state this).

    • This is Cashrewards

      • THIS IS SPARTA!!!

  • +1

Assuming the zip pay 200, get 10 off cannot be stacked with this as it is a coupon?

    • +1

Just replying to myself if anyone else was wondering, I was able to stack it :)

  • Bought $82 worth of stuff yesterday, lets see if it tracks. Im always doubtful about these $5 cashbacks.

  • I brought it yesterday at around 3pm. Now tracked, it take 24 hours to track my purchased.

  • i put an order in yesterday at 3:48am, still not tracked.
Made an order with TCB around noon yesterday, tracked for me last night.
    Not looking good…..

  • I had one transaction of 2 separate items, it tracked as two separate orders -_-

    • That's normal for Amazon tracking, as long as the order was $50+, you're fine

      • Even if your CC was charged as two separate transactions?

        • +1

Yes, your single order can be charged as separate transactions or converted into multiple orders, but it's fine as long as the original order was $50+ according to the CR terms below / Customer Service

Amazon reports transactions based on item instead of combined cart value. If you purchase multiple items in one order, they will report as multiple transactions in your Cashrewards account.
