nbn 250/25Mbps $78.90/Month for 6 Months ($98.90/Month Ongoing, FTTP and HFC Only) @ Dodo

160

Cheapest option for 250Mbps on the market. I recently switched over to give it a try, and while their customer service may not have improved much, I’ve noticed better international connectivity and decent typical evening speeds.

For CG-NAT, you can easily opt out by calling tech support.

There’s no lock-in contract or notice period if you decide to leave, and they don’t charge a processing fee for credit card payments.

Please note im on FTTP (Fibre To The Premise) so your milage may vary on other connection types.

Recently moved a friend off from Dodo to AussieBB cause of their shitty support.
Friend had gotten NBN FTTP connected with Tplink Deco installed , but Dodo was not eager to provide him technical support post installation.
AussieBB did everything setup in 1hr. (so credit where due)

    Personally im using Leaptel

    • oh yeah, your on your own with dodo, if you're technical and you can tell them the issue, its all good, just got to cut through the crap, which im okay to to save money lol

Leaptel comes out to be the same for the whole year ..so why bother going with shitty technical support when u can have premium onshore support.
89pm each month for 12 months is same as above offer unless u plan to switch after 6 months
Im on 1000Mbps plan which is cheapest at Leaptel atm

        • churn baby churn, also they always extend with the retention team

Cheapest option for 250Mbps on the market.

Superloop works out cheaper with referrals.

yeah but you gotta be a hustler.

      • +1

Nah, just get referrals from OzBargain…

          That sounds like hustling

@marcaum123: As in actively hustling people or just waiting for the ozb referral roulette wheel to land on you?

Been on the referral list since last Aug and got no hits 😂

I have mixed feelings about Superloop. When using their 1000Mbps plan, I’ve noticed that international downloads never reached 100MBps. In contrast, Optus, Aussie Broadband (ABB), and Buddy all managed to hit those speeds, while Launtel, Leaptel, and Superloop did not.

GSL always seems to take some random routes which riddled all over Whirlpool

      • I just tried US and UK servers and I'm getting just under 300MBps vs around 700MBps from Sydney.

        • Do you have 2gigabit plan lol, not possible to get 300MegaBytes or 700Mega Bytes on 1000Mbps. I'm talking Mega Bytes not bits. (i see you have changed it to mbps :) )

  • Pppoe

    • That’s right. And CGNAT by default, weird IPv6 implementation, and deny multi-line support on the common 4-port Nokia ONTs.

I’m plan to leave anyway. Though no 30-day notice which is good.

I know they've been through a couple of owners, but I still can't bring myself to go with dodo again. Even in the dialup days they had trash service, made people jump through hoops to disconnect, overbilled and were a nightmare to deal with.

    Shame, it's cheap.

    • i get it eh, but no signup cost, they offer 7 days where you can just leave if you hate it. Until they go bad yolo

  • If their cheap mobile service is anything to go by, get ready for them to up the price every 12 months or so.

    • rule of thumb 365 day sims, and open term contracts with nbn, then just move to save money, i get how some people cannot be bothered moving

  • Dodo are one of the most useless ISP’s in Australia. Unstable service, deceitful sales & support staff. Helped switch two family members from their clutches…

    • no isp is perfect but if you look at the reviews, most of the people posting are not FTTP users, all the FTTP users seem to be fine.

  • does anyone know if the modem they give for $79 is any good?

    • i would buy your own for 80-100 from amazon

  • It's now $78.90 for 12 months
