  • Great deal, no idea how i can actually get one through this process

    • Generally through a union/super/bank or members advantage.

Thanks, my mate logged in and bought. The price was actually $456

  • +2

is 64gb big enough to hold anything but the OS?

    • +1

My son has the 9th gen and it's fine to hold games music and streaming downloads. Photos and taking videos take up most room

    • +6

Not iPad, but FWIW on my 64GB iPhone the iOS18 update was 14GB(!) so had to offload apps and delete everything just to be able to install it.

    • +3

Kinda. 64GB used to be fine for iPadOS for kids use (eg streaming, some gaming apps) but note it’s become insufficient should your child require it for controlled in-school use (ie byod). Namely, the school will install an all controlling app which interacts deeply with the OS and that takes away a lot of storage. In this case, there remains virtually no storage for other apps (eg Minecraft, Roblox) if it’s only 64GB.

Not enough for for the money. ~$200 was Lenovo Duet 5 13.3" oled 128gb Chromebook with solid keypad. Laptop replacement. Got USI Pen2 for $50. Batt up to 15.5 hrws

      • hows performance compared to the ipad?

        Like snappyness etc

        • A bit slower in the 1st 10h, but after the iPad battery dies, the Duet with detachable solid KEYBOARD runs much faster than the iPad the next 5 hours (all you need for the day ;)
If I want larger OLED screen than the phone & not comfortable to take heavier laptop, it's good option. I'm waiting for the $50 USI Pen2 to test that functionality & compare with DEX over S23 Ultra. I like to keep in touch with ChromeOS but I hope they can open it to more Linux.

      • @taki
        From where (the chromebook)?

        • +1

          Referring to this deal

          https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/815570

That was for the 4gb model which gets a bit of a bad wrap for not being enough ram on a Chromebook for optimal performance. Even then, that particular SoC is noticeably sluggish at even basic stuff like opening a video on YouTube as an example. Also chrombooks aren’t as good in tablet mode as an iPad or Android. It’s all horses for courses at the end of the day. If you are after a tablet experience with applications that are made to get the most from a touch screen experience then get a tablet. The Chromebook wins out if you want a laptop experience and your needs can work within a browser. Full desktop browser experience with extensions and excellent battery life. The duet 5 amazing for that.

@Ronnnie: Damn but $212 is crazy price let me check marketplace for 2nd hand. Hopefully prople not selling at $400 lol

            • +1

@CyberMurning: No doubt, $212 was a heck of a deal

              • @Ronnnie: I got one 1 month after this sale for $130 on marketplace

                • +1

@easternculture: That’s an exceptional deal. Someone has one listed on marketplace for $700. lol

Seems the typical price is $400+

                  • @Ronnnie: Was also able to claim the free minecraft , 1 year google one and 4 months YT premium freebies so that was an extra $70 to $80 value.

I still havent claimed the 12 months Generative AI Premium Plan which has a $395 value

                    • +1

@easternculture: Must have found a foolish seller. Probably would have easily got double with minimal effort. Either way not achieveable for anyone else. Unlike the $212 deal, which was an exceptional one off deal that a few people actually got. Lol

          • @sn0w: You should post this as a deal

            • @tnarg: Nah, I would not know without @Mkak, and I did not go ahead with it as 64gb not enough storage (not a fan of cloud subs)

    • +1

I know this is OzBargain, but for the sake of $20 are you still going to wait for an answer?

    • Is that 256gb?

      • +1

no, it's the exactly the same model OP mentioned

  • +1

The normal ABN just let you create the business account I think. I have access to the Corporate price from work although I never used it.
    https://imgur.com/kH4xjc5

    • I think there are different tiers to the business, benefit from provider etc. Origin gives the $424 pricing

      • I think so, still waiting for the order is ready to pick up. I would rather pay extra for the delivery from the warehouse

  • +6

Now showing 370 for me, earlier it was 458

    • Where….

      • On same Jb corporate site through my super, I just refreshed page and price changed to 370

  • +8

Still showing as $370.71inc through Australian retirement trust app with direct url. Given it doesn't appear in the search I doubt if this is going to be honoured… But you have to be in it to win it..

For those getting it cheaper would help to post the corp you are using if you don't mind sharing..

  • +7

    Still showing $424 on Origin.

  • +1

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/wiki/tggc_access#how_do_i_acces…

you'd need to have either business ABN or member of those businesses. Price seems different to different provider.

  • +3

    Ordered $370.71 Australian Retirement Trust

anyone knows refund policy for JBHIFI business? would we be able to cancel an order? or get refund due to change of mind?

    Jbhifi corp

  • Good, $370, now I need a cover

  • Any option to pay by gift cards?

    • not via online

      • Can we buy business price from store then?

        • +1

well you could try, but not sure if the store will allow it, especially this price may be even lower than their wholesale price
I would say get it now, try to pick it up tomorrow, it would give you best chance.

  • Is there anyway to access to this deal without having a corporate/business account?
I don’t think my super has any benefits..

    • +1

      Origin energy?

      • Thanks - $424 here.

    • +8

I created a new super account at Australian retirement trust and it look less than 5 mins to get access to jbhifi commercial storefront. ordered 1 ipad as well.

      • +2

That's commitment :) They are a good super company anyway.

      • Just out of curiosity wouldn't it generate any fee? I assume that it won't charge you as long as you don't 'active' (as in putting in fund) the account?

        • +1

nah I did the same with rest to get access to tgg commercial portal.

      • Do you know if there any fees with Australian retirement do trust? If I don't deposit any funds?
