I am seeing many deals for routers and mesh systems lately, I have mentioned this in a few comments and posted links. Since I have been using this I have no need for any mesh, it covers the entire house . Even if you feel like grabbing two and using it as mesh the firmware makes it easy to do so. Buy 2 get 20% off.

if only it had 9 antennas
so it's got 8 because it's 8 stream? couldn't they have made it 9-stream or 10-stream? or even 12 stream? like a V12…
Less than $20 per antenna is pretty good though!
I bet half of them aren't even hooked up.
Looks good they also have a reasonably priced Wifi 7 model that has multigigabit ports if you want to future proof.
Link please
It's on the same page as this deal…
Do not buy the wifi range is no where near as good as the AX6000 model I have listed I know because I tested both and returned the wifi 7 router
Another option for wifi 7
AU$225.21 | Xiaomi Mi Router BE7000 Tri-Band WiFi Repeater VPN 1GB Mesh USB 3.0 IPTV 4 x 2.5G Ethernet Ports Modem Signal Amplifier PPPoE
yeah I don't trust Chinese companies, especially with networking of any kind.
I only own one because it was 100% open hardware / OpenWRT compatible.
No way was I using it on stock firmware.
BE7000 is a Qualcomm IPQ9554 though, so no OpenWrt on there for a good while.
Maybe a hacked together QSDK build, but that's not quite the same.
@Namidairo: Mine wasnt this exact model.
Ax6000 iirc, which was fully supported. Then the Flint2 was released a week later and i kicked myself, haha.
I have this Xiaomi BE7000 Router. Rock solid perfomance. I love it. Just be aware that it does not support the 6 Ghz channel spectrum, so not a proper WiFi 7 router.
you might want to check for maleware on you network and also check that you data hasn't leaked on the internet
if only this was wifi 7
This was around $145 a few days ago. Then with buy two mercury products and extra %20 of brang it to $125 with extra USB wifi stick
Yeah that is how much I paid for mine .
Decent price for the specs.
I think Mercusys is basically the No Frills version of TP Link. Can anyone comment on the quality of the firmware and uptime of their hardware?
Correct, Mercusys is owned by TP-Link, so think of it like Coles and Woolies home brand products.
I would pay the few extra $$$ and rather deal with amzon then mydeal but hey thanks for the neg!.
dont take it personal
Nice. Over 9% cheaper through mydeal which is a significant price difference. Ended up buying from them. Cheers for the headsup
@Lucille Bluth: Just for some info. You actually bought it from a marketplace seller called ARC Online which is shipping from their own warehouse. Mydeal was only the marketplace sales platform. Just like how eBay is a marketplace seller platform. And how Amazon has heaps of marketplace sellers that are selling through the Amazon sales platform.
This is on the product page:
"Sold & shipped by ARC Online"
According to this ARC Online is the online store for ARC Computers. So yep you're getting the router delivered from ARC Computers. Not Mydeal. So all warranty has to be dealt through ARC Online aka ARC Computers.
https://www.arconline.com.au/about-us
So yeah would it might been a better idea to have brought it from Amazon AU instead for the great warranty returns?. Sure it may be 9% more in price but you get a no fuss and hassle warranty returns.
@hollykryten: Not concerned. Happy to roll the dice. They at least have a brick and mortar store. I have extended product protection with my CC. I'm covered regardless what happens even outside the usual warranty period.
But thanks for your concern.
Also TopCashback AU tracked. Effectively $137. They also already shipped it since my initial comment.
@Lucille Bluth: Yes you were probably better off any way. Amazon AU is being slow to ship at the moment. I bought some thing from Amazon AU (DDR4 RAM kit) last Monday which is a week ago and i'm still waiting for it to be shipped. It's been a bit of a joke how slow it's been at shipping.
Yes I would buy it from Amazon AU too.
And if people had of actually read into it you might have noticed that you're not actually buying it from Mydeal any way. But buying it from ARC Online that's selling it as a marketplace seller through the Mydeal platform. It's the online store department of ARC Computers.
So yeah I personally would probably pay slightly more to get it from Amazon AU to get great warranty returns. But everyone has their choice where they want to buy from.
Exactly even less if you use discounted Amazon gift cards & promo credits , it will work out even cheaper if buying a 2nd Mercusys item to get 20% both items.
Can you wall mount this? Tried looking through the user manual but no luck.
It'll be a great deal if this router version is supported by OpenWRT.
Can anyone confirm OpenWRT works on this version?firmware is fine as is!.
Does current stock firmware support Wireguard or OpenVPN? Adblock custom lists?
I think once you use OpenWRT, it's hard to regress…unless you're using OPNSense/PFSense
From what I can find online, it appears EU version 1 is supported by OpenWRT.I would disagree. You can still exploit the IPTV server and cant fully disable it.
And thats just from 5 minutes of poking around.
Id spend some more time SSH'd into the config files before making such certain statements about core security components.
You're advising on what is likely someones only 'door' to their digital home.
if only this had USB
it is $119 today on Amazon
I see that you need Prime to get the $119 price or else it will show a higher price. It's a Prime deal.
Decent AX6000 WiFi 6 router that can have OpenWrt installed and is fully supported by vanilla OpenWrt.
Identical main mediatek CPU as the GL.iNet Flint 2 MT6000 (AX6000) but less ram, less storage, only 1 high speed Ethernet port.
Still a good router.
Also WiFi 6 AX3000 version available for about $50 for prime days, but I can't recall if this is supported by OpenWrt.
Would this work well for pcvr if I got 2 of them to use one in my computer room connected via mesh to the other? Can't get a cable directly from my router to my computer unfortunately
This thing disappointed, bought hoping to solve a wifi blackspot but it didn't even live up to its wifi 5 predecessor. Returned. The interface is pathetic and the hardware isn't anything close to the marketing hype. Don't waste your time messing with this trash.
Wow my experience was complete opposite didn't need my mesh after the purchase !., sorry to hear.
Currently down to $133.95 delivered for Prime subscribers
Someone will still complain that there's not enough antennas…
