ING Refer a Friend Offer

This offer is available for a limited time only between 1 October 2024 and 30 November 2024 and is not applicable in conjunction with any other promotional offer unless expressly indicated. ING reserves the right to extend or withdraw this offer at any time at its sole discretion. If withdrawn, ING will honour the offer in respect of all Orange Everyday accounts opened using the correct promotional code before the offer is withdrawn, provided that applicants satisfy the Eligibility Criteria below. The offer applies in respect of the original recipient of this email only.

Any ING customer who refers their friend under this offer ("referrer") is not authorised to act as a representative of ING and is not otherwise acting on ING's behalf in referring their friends to ING. A referrer must:

  • only tell their friends about ING's offer; and
  • not provide any advice about financial products, such as any recommendations or opinions about the suitability of the products.

Reward Eligibility Criteria:

The referrer can receive for each friend they refer and their friend can receive the bonus (the "offer") when the friend:

  • Opens an Orange Everyday bank account between 1 October 2024 and 30 November 2024, and enters your unique promotional code at the time of account
    opening (new Orange Everyday customers only). Invalid or incomplete codes will not be fulfilled;
  • Deposits $1,000 or more as a one off or cumulative payments within a calendar month from an external source (such as their pay) into their new Orange Everyday account by 30 November 2024.
  • Opens a Savings Maximiser and makes a deposit into their Savings Maximiser between 1 October 2024 and 30 November 2024 or hold an existing Savings Maximiser account; and
  • Uses their new Orange Everyday card to make 5+ settled (not pending) card purchases within any calendar month between 1 October 2024 and 30 November 2024, (excluding ATM withdrawals, balance enquiries and EFTPOS cash out only transactions), collectively the 'Eligibility Criteria'.

The offer does not apply where your friend has opened an Orange Everyday account:

  • at any point since 1 July 2014 (even if the account has now been closed); or
  • as part of an application for an Orange Advantage Home Loan.

A calendar month is one of the 12 named months that a year is commonly divided into (e.g. July, August).

Card purchases include in store purchases, online purchases, regular card payments, payWave, Apple Pay, and Google Pay transactions made with an Orange Everyday Visa card. When using the phrase 'settled' card purchases in a calendar month, we mean that the purchases made on the card must be fully processed by the end of the last day of that month. Card purchases made in store or online this current calendar month (e.g. July) which are at a 'pending status' and do not settle until the next calendar month (e.g. August) count towards card purchases in that next calendar month.

We will refuse to pay the cash reward in respect of any or all referrals made in relation to this offer if, in our reasonable opinion, you have used this offer in a manner that is not satisfactory to us or otherwise not in line with the intent of the offer. This includes conduct on your part which, in our reasonable opinion, undermines the fair and intended operation of the offer, such as by (a) sharing your promotional code on the 'OzBargain' website or other similar code sharing website or on public forum, (b) advertising or marketing your referral code, or (c) altering the offer in any way, including by offering further incentives to anyone for participation in the offer.

    Targeted?

  • Is there any way around the restriction on previous customers?

      Yes, Identity fraud

        Any deals?

  • +4

Ive referred 4 people on ozbargain and never received any money

    • +4

Same, never receive any money from ING.

      • +1

Is it because they had an account since 2014?

        • Quite a strong possibility, I just set up the two accounts and then read this condition. Sorry to the guy who referred me. I will keep the accounts for the time being, so it's sort of a win for ING I suppose. Fool if you think it's over…

The offer does not apply where your friend has opened an Orange Everyday account:
at any point since 1 July 2014 (even if the account has now been closed)…

  • Hrmph. No email for me as usual

  • did they drop it down from 200 or was that the other card?

    • Inflation

  • Do you have to get an email? Can't find a referral code anywhere…

  • +6

I will share my experiences trying to get this. I applied for an account then after a few days they leave a message saying I need to call them to complete the application. So they go through some security stuff then I wait some more. A few days after they leave another message saying I need to call again. Something thing but I need to redo my security images of my ID. I wait some more. Then they make me called them one more time and they say I need to send them JP verified copies of my documents. At this point I had enough of them. It was an unbelievable waste of time.

    • +2

I had the same experience, a lot of effort however without branches this is their way to do the KYC. I too stopped the process

      • +1

I found them very disrespectful of my time. Sorry it happened to you too.

    • +1

Same process, cost me an entirely month, a few times to Australian Post and still unable to open one

    • Thank you. I probably wouldn't go through with a CC churn for 100K points if I had to do that, so for $100 just let me say…. no thank you

  • I still haven’t got mine I signed up in August for the $100

  • It's a pity this referral process couldn't be automated :(

  • I had to check but unfortunately I had an account in 2018. Oh well, I guys I’ll be eligible again in 2028

    • +2

The 1 July 2014 date has been in terms and conditions for all ING referral campaigns since at least 2020, so there is a good chance you will never be eligible for another referral campaign as a new customer (especially knowing how strict ING is).

  • Same here.

  • If successfully refer two people, can get into the draw to win $5,000!

  • No email from ING here. Customer with them for 25 years. I guess they don't care anymore as I'm locked in for life.

    • That's the way

    • Customer with them for 25 years.

      25 years?
      Was ING trading then?
      In 1999?
      Wow!

  • +1

How can I check if I had an account from 2014? It’s few years already so I don’t remember.

    • Call them? Check your email inbox?

    • If you saved your details you may still be able to log in to the customer page, ING still allow access, so do Suncorp, CBA, St George and some other banks. I often save closed account details as a text file:

      ING Orange Everyday transaction account

      Mr xxx xxx
      Client number xxxxxxxx

      BSB: 923 100
      Acc: xxxxxxxxx

      ************0432

      Opened xx.xx.2023
Closed by phone x.xx.2023 - Too many "hoops".

  • I received the email in September where the code was valid till Sept 30th, but didn't receive the new offer extended till November. However the old url still appears to be working but not sure whether they will honour it if someone use thst code.

  • Does this work if husband refers wife with same surname where wife never had an ING account or was part of a shared account using same address?

    • Should work if both are different person with different id

      • Tried it with Revolut, no go just endless spams!

        • Worked with Revolut for me. I got a bonus for husband and both parents in law all same surname

  • Can't this type of link just be setup in here so you don't have to pm?

share this link with your family and friends, it includes details of the offer and your referral code.

    campaigns.ing.com.au/refer?code=xxxxxx&p=a

I only got the $100 offer. Obviously I edited out my code in the link above.

    • As the OP mentioned earlier.

There has always been a link, but we do it through pms because ING specifically doesn't allow code sharing on public forums.

      • First timer here and have just sent a PM. Do I get the code through a PM also?

        • Yes the user will PM you back with their link/code. Feel free to send a few pms and use the link/code of whoever replies first.

          • @hamza23: Does sending multiple PMs like that have any effect on the people providing the referral code, when their code doesn’t get used? Does it reduce their chance of being selected again?

            • @oerpbqk: Nope, it's completely random each click (apart from the weighting to the OP if the deal hits the front page).

  • Mod: Comments sharing your referral code will be removed, comments mentioning that you have the offer or similar will be removed as referral solicitation.

Account penalties can apply for those not following these instructions and that means you won't be part of the referral system until the penalty is finished.

  • I’ve completed the 5 transactions today after receiving the card. How long with the bonus take to come in

    • +1

In a similar vein, is there a way to track whether you have met the criteria? Can the referrer track the referee's progress?

  • +1

I wouldn't bother with this, it's a massive pain to get the credit.

Signed up for promo in June for $100, account opened in time, transactions met, not paid out, so I called, and then they said, that the promo code I used was for July…? And I'm not eligible?

Somehow went into the future to get the code

    Too hard, don't bother

  • Hello sorry just a question - all I have to do is hit Edit, then tick Allow PMs and then wait?

    • That's correct.

  • I recieved two payments from ING that were marked as thank you. Each Payment was 250$. Not sure if it was from the previous promotion were I had a 125$ code I shared….

    • Got a $375 payment in Sep from ING marked as Thank you as well.. must have referred total 3 persons

  • What's the significance of 1st July 2014 that makes all accounts opened before then, ineligible for future referral promo's? Is it a technical limitation, seems kind of weird to have a cut off for referring capability..

  • Do anyone know which merchants process their transactions fast?
