Coursera Plus Annual Subscription $0 for 12 Months (Usually A$605) @ Coursera (VPN Mexico and Payment Information Required)

5200

Hey everyone! I have been busy and currently overseas, didn't have much time for deals. Here is a FREEBIE!! deal that usually is $605.

Coursera Plus is an online training platform that offers more than 7,000 courses on various subjects, as well as preparation for certifications. Coursera is also the only place where you can do Google, Meta, AWS, Microsoft specialisations and also has a lot of University affiliations.

This subscription usually costs around AU$605 for the year - however when accessing the deal link as a new user via Mexico VPN, it is completely free as part of a promotion.

Note: You only require VPN for the sign-up / payment process - once completed, disconnect and access the subscription / courses as normal without VPN.

(Don't forget to cancel your subscription to avoid a charge in one years time).

Instructions:

1 - Connect to VPN via Mexico

2 - Access the following link (use incognito mode for better results): https://www.coursera.org/courseraplus/special/newcoursepromo

3 - Subscribe for one year. (Enter your payment details/information).

4 - Deactivate VPN and access paid courses as normal for one year.

Note: You can cancel immediately and keep the whole years access (Go to Manage Subscriptions, click the subscription you want to cancel, then click cancel subscription).

Coursera Plus is a subscription service that gives users unlimited access to over 7,000 courses, specializations, and professional certificates. It includes content from top universities and companies, such as Google, IBM, and Duke University.

        Not the way I play…

    +1 from Mexico

  • Gracias, Señor McDeal.

  • Long live HMA VPN works a charm

  • Anyone facing?

Sorry, there was a problem processing your payment. Please contact Coursera for assistance.

    • +8

Yes, then used paypal and worked.

Here's to another year of not doing courses I'm telling myself I will.

  • Thanks OP. worked with Wise card.

  • So awesome. Worked fine for me. Thanks OP!

  • When does this expire? In the middle of uni, so don't want to get into it just yet.

    • I second this

    • Just do it now in case. When you get the answer, do it again at the mentioned date.

      • Can you do this more than once?

        • +2

You can make a new account then if needed. I did it on two different accounts, one new and one existing, using the same card just to test it out. Worked fine.

  • Thanks OP!

  • Thank you so much!

  • No real Ozb will be having the same card in one year time. So my question is can they still charge a cancelled card?

    • With revolut I've had charges come through on a blocked and cancelled card (more than 1y ago now).
I contacted revolut support and they were indicating the subscription started before card was blocked so was still allowed to process.

Haven't had this issue with wise. With wise I just got notification that an attempted charge came in but was blocked.

How does this compare to Udemy free courses which I can also afford?

    • Real question is how many courses you completed

  • thanks, work with Wise card ;)) applied, cancel right after and have 1 year access .

  • Thanks OP! It can be applied to an existing Coursera account using Tunnelbear VPN.

  • Great stuff

  • Amazing, was looking at using coursera and now I dont have an excuse not to, worked!

  • +1

Thanks OP! Study from tomorrow :)

  • this is probably the best deal of 2024. gracious

  • Thanks OP

This deal almost feels like cheating

  • Awsome. Was free at a prior employer and I did a few of their bigger courses when I was considering a new job such as Proj Management, BI, and the full IBM Data Analyst (in my own time though). Decent programs if you are interested in learning the topic. If you have considered trying something new it's a good place to start for free.

Biggest let down is the peer review system. The quality of submissions is mostly horrible, including people just not understanding the material, not uploading the right attachment (if at all), not answering the actual question, etc. Unfortunately (or fortunate for most of them) the marking key is either so loose or so pointed that they technically get the some marks. Over and over again things were marked wrong / not full marks were it was blatently correct. I expect most of the people undertaking the courses are brute-forcing their way through to put on resume rather than actually learning, which isn't suprising based on a lot of the people I've dealt with in my work.

    • Thanks for sharing your insight. Genuine question, weren't most of these courses available for free previously, anyways? Where you only had to pay to recieve certificates upon completion? Maybe i misunderstood the benefits of Plus but that's all i seem to see. Thanks again!

      • I’m not sure of all details but looks that way. Eg the Google Data Analytics courses used to be complete free to enroll in but now that’s also behind the paywall.

  • thanks OP!

    Thanks OP. $568.25 AUD saving.

  • Nice1

  • are there any free VPN options out there?

    • +1

      I used Urban VPN :)

      • thanks , all sorted with Tunnelbear

  • Amazing deal. Signed up and cancelled already so available until next year! Huge deal.

  • Any good project management, change management and supply chain courses ?

    • -2

      Yes

      • Which ones if you'd like to share links

  • Thanks, hope they won't cancel or suspend the account for misusing some clause in fineprint of T&C…

I was going to pull the trigger next week for an yearly subscription that I received a 30% discount on a few days ago.

  • Thank you!

  • "problem processing your payment" in incognito with NordVPN to Mexico and Wise card. Not sure what else to try.

    • +1

      PayPal!

      • Thanks mate, this did the trick :)

  • Thank you. More available courses added to my impressive collection

  • Awesome deal. Thanks!!

  • +1

    Thanks @Scrooge McDeal

With the payment, I was able to add a Vanilla Visa gift card directly (with zero balance) from Woolworths. That was about 7 hours ago. Used NordVPN Mexico in incognito and location is Mexico. Cancelled subscription straightaway.

    • why did you need to cancel if your visa is zero balance anyway?

      • Don't want to be asked to pay in a year's time.

  • I canceled my subscription yesterday for a new account I created to benefit from this deal (NordVPN + PayPal). But when I logged back in today, my subscription was gone. So today, I have deleted that account, created a new one, and set a reminder to cancel the subscription in 11 months. Forgot to read the warning: Are you sure you want to delete your PayPal account?
(This action will unsubscribe you from active subscriptions that use this card. To avoid this, please edit your card information instead)

  • Thank you.
    Signed up.

Cancel subscription immediately to be safe.
Also, removed Coursera from paypal auto approved biller.

After being ozbargain’ed, they might cancel and/or charge us..,

    • Yeah, I think to do this you have to use the desktop version, because on Mobile I couldn't find the "Subscriptions" tab.

On desktop you go to My Purchases > Subscriptions (tab) and then there's an option to cancel subscription. After doing that then I went to remove my Paypal account and it seems to have worked (because it's not linked to any "active" subscriptions) and I still have access to Plus content.

      • +1

        I cancel on mobile

        Settings
        Scroll down to Account
        My subscription
Another pop up opens saying you subscribed via Desktop and may not cancel…
But I could click on Manage subscription and cancel

Got email confirmation that it was cancelled

Hi @Scrooge McDeal, can you help me with step 4 please . Deactivate VPN and access paid courses as normal for one year

    • That means once you signed up, you don't need your VPN to access the courses.

  • Thanks OP!!!!

Been eyeing off a couple of courses but the price kept me from signing up to plus.

    • Wonder what courses you're interested in?

Do want to explore more later!

      • +2

I have an engineering background and documented history of statistics. Mainly want to upskill into Data Science. IBM/Google/Amazon were the ones I saw, but need to look better for maybe a Uni course

  • Thank you, ISP… work without any issues.

  • Worked for me on NordVPN, billing country set to Australia, and with an ING card that expires next month with $0.00 in the account. Gracias amigo!

  • Thanks G!!

  • Are these vpn like nord I see in iOS app. Is it safe to install in iPhone and do we need to sign up to use that?

Or you guys generally install these VPNs in laptop only for safety

Also when I logged in using sso of email, it says connected but Mexico servers not free says 80$ subscription… please GUIDE (it’s iPhone. App)

    • You can use a free vpn to sign up with a Mexico location. Urban VPN and TunnelBear both have Mexico on their free version. Once you have signed up for free. Go to subscriptions and cancel subscription. You still keep your 12 months subscription. Also I have used Revolut virtual card and terminated that card.

    • I installed Urban VPN on my iPhone (thanks to op’s recommendation), it did the job for me and I had no issues.
You can do this on your phone or your pc. It’s all the same imo.

  • Thanks, doneski!

    Couple of notes:
    1. You can use your existing Coursera account, awesome!
    2. After you subscribe, for me, it took about 5-10 to fully appear in my settings to allow me to cancel. I logged out and back in too in that time, so try that if you can't cancel.
    3. My location was still set to Australia, and used AU CC.

  • Urban VPN worked like a charm. Thanks Ops

  • This is amazing, I had plus member last year paying approx $75 per months for 7 months then cancelled,
I've done this with VPN and my existing account got 1 year subscription where I can continue learning.

Thank you so much Señor McDeal.

  • Thanks OP, bloody good deal

  • Cannot add to my existing subscription which is due to expire in 4 month

"Sorry, you are not eligible for this offer. This offer is only available for new Coursera Plus subscribers."

    • You can create a new account :)

      • Yeah ended up doing that :)

  • This is sigma thanks OP

  • +2

I think this deal is finished.

    Used Nord VPN and incognito.

    After step 2 it's says.

Reach your goals with MX$1,969.90 off one year of Coursera Plus not getting 100% discount

    • Yes, that's exactly what happened with me :/

  • +1

I've just tried to access it with VPN, but apparently it's just giving a discount, not for free anymore :(

  • +2

    It's not working for me.
I used Mexico VPN and Chrome Inconigo mode.
    It shows "MX$5,770.10 for 12 months (regularly MX$7,740)" , only MX$1,969.90 discounted.

Is anyone else experiencing the same thing?

    • Same here

    • +1

Yeah, just checked. It got Ozbargained.

  • +1

Looks like a fantastic deal, AndrewNg course on AI is commonly recommended for those looking to get an understanding/foot in the door to AI field, this lets you get the cert at the end!

  • OzBargain'd Strikes again!

  • +4

Darn can’t believe I missed this. Anyone know if they are offering this deal to other countries and are still free?

  • +1

    This was a killer deal.

  • +3

Bummer, I am trying not to think about how many minutes I missed this deal by…. I tried a couple of hours ago and it was only offering the $100 discount, not the full beans.

  • -3

If anyone got in, would you mind sharing user and pass with me? Would be very grateful. Really wanted to join this but just missed out.

  • Are everyone’s subs cancelled?

    • I cant really login

      • I can login but when I try any course it offers to start a 7 day trial

    • Yeah cancelled

      • +1

Update: no, I was wrong, still working.

    • No, hold on, I am not sure. It does say cancelled because I cancelled it (silly me) but I am not sure if they rescinded access.

Any page that I should not be able to view only with the plus subscription?

  • it is marked as expired, anyone tried lately?

    • they are cancelling subscriptions
