    Acer has 4.2% Cashreward also.

  • Anyone have any thoughts between this and the other deal OMEN by HP 27 inch FHD 165Hz Gaming Monitor?

    • I’ve got one FHD one QHD. QHD looks a lot nicer. But could depend on your use case if you need the Hz.

      • Yeah fair enough, I don't play games that are super intense so I feel like the QHD with lower Hz would be better than FHD and higher Hz.

If I mainly use it for for just work purposes with a fair amount of text and light gaming would you recommend the QHD and lower Hz?

Not really an expert myself as both my monitors are at 75 Hz LOL but I personally would go the higher resolution screen. I feel like 1080p is a little ‘sub-par’ nowadays, especially when compared to a modern phone screen.

Every extra Hz is inversely proportional to the benefit you receive. A 100Hz monitor refreshes every 10ms. A 165Hz monitor refreshes a little bit more than every 6ms, so the difference between the two is 4ms.

It's up to you to decide if 4ms response time is important or not. Remember, you also need to get 165 frames per second in your game to take full advantage of the extra 4ms response time.

For me personally, on a 27" monitor I wouldn't go any lower than 1440p (QHD) and between the two would easily pick this monitor.

        • I reckon the qhd is better since like I'm just saying w a monitor like this it'll be secondary right whilst ur main monitor for gaming will be different. 100hz is still miles better than 60hz and slightly betyer than 90hz which i have on my new laptop.

I go to the deal, and look at the pictures, and I don't see a screen that matches either the spec here, or in the deal.

Here it says VGA, HDMI and DP.

Under specification the deal says HDMI and DP.

The picture shows no DP port, only VGA and HDMI.

The question is what you're going to get.

There seem to be a whole lot of variations in this model, and even Acer doesn't seem to know what its sending. VGA, maybe, maybe not. Speakers, maybe, maybe not. DP, maybe, maybe not.

    • I think the pics are for the FHD version

I bought one on the previous deal. Can confirm it's 2 x HDMI, 1 DP (no VGA port) and is HDR compatible. Ignore Acer's outdated mixed-message listing about VGA port etc.

I'm using it mounted on the garage wall for Zwift (online indoor cycling) and it's been flawless so far.

    • Does it come with a stand? The specs in the link to Acer only mention it's wall mount.

        Ergonomic stand…..

      • +2

Yes there's a stand. I ignored the stand as I didn't need one.

Nice deal. Got one for the Mrs so I can have her 24" as a side monitor.

Very nice price👍 This would go well for a nice and cheap mini pinball machine

Just got an email saying they had sold out and offering an “upgrade” to this FHD model. GTFO Acer.

    https://store.acer.com/en-au/acer-27-qg271-m3-ips-gaming-mon…

    • Lol me too. "1440p is sold out, have a 1080p instead, no extra cost!" no thanks

    • ispace did they give you a refund yet?

  • Got the monitor. Winner for the worst location of controls ever….at the back! What were they thinking?

And the only other issue is the display is not sitting level. Bit annoying as rest is excellent.

    • Little bit of light bleed as well, but not too bad for the price.

  • i really wish the inputs didnt stick out from the back too - terrible for wall mounting flush….

  • Did anyone receive a tracking number from Acer starting with afg? I don't know how or where to track it.

https://www.airroad.com.au/quick-track/ - Very customer oriented company. They rang me to see if I'd be in to sign for it, then driver rang me to tell me he'd arrive within 45 minutes.

        Thanks so much!

  • Is there any way to make a Dell stand fit this? On the back of this one there are the four screw holes for fixing it to a wall mount. Is there a plate available that I could fit there that would take a Dell stand fitting?

    • Done … just cut the monitor stand mounting section from the back of the dead Dell monitor and it fits the 100x100mm VESA mount on the back of this Acer. The screws from the Dell are the same thread as the VESA mount, but to keep the spring release part of the Dell mount you need two slightly longer screws. Works fine.
