Dyson V15 Detect™ Absolute Cordless Vacuum Cleaner - limited time deal @ $896. Not ATL but OK price if you need one now.

Pairs well with this if you need a stand. This is really solid and sturdy. But the hole where the charger goes through is narrow and you'll need a string to hoist and force it up.

    • +5

      $896.40 @ JB with code: #92DYSON10SEPT

      • +2

        Price match then use code.

        • +1

          comes down to $806.40

          • @Uncleroger: Sorry - how do you get JB to reduce the price from $896 to $806.40?

Oh I see - price match TGG or Amazon $896 less 10% with code = $806.40.

Then pay with Aldi Ultimate 10% off gift cards = $726.40.

        • +2

JB told me they don't match online amazon price.

          • @Bluering48: That doesn't seem accurate info. Jb hifi does use to price match items sold directly by Amazon, unless something has changed in their policy recently 🤔

          • +1

@Bluering48: Had multiple occasions that they do. Sold by Amazon.

Their stores are a joke. Try matching via online chat.

          • +7

@Bluering48: I got a price match by providing the Good guys link. With price match and the discount code above it came to about $797.

Also paid with some work gift cards so came to just under $650 😃

            • @Hamish125: what discount code?

              • @Doofie69er: 92DYSON10SEPT

That’s from the deal description above

                • @Hamish125: Thanks got it to work with JBhifi price match. Total about $805 delivered via uber in under an hour! Its like the future is now!!

            • +1

@Hamish125: @Hamish125 thanks for the tip. I've price matched and got same price.

Now, I have Ultimate gift cards. If I exchange those with JB gift card, can I use more than one gift card to pay using price matched JB link?

              • @sigma: I used 2 x JB Hi-Fi e-gift cards to pay for mine, and debit card for the remaining amount. I also saw on the description of my gift cards that 5 could be used per transaction.

I’m not sure about HIM cards and how many can be used per transaction.

            • @Hamish125: Thanks, got it for 797 click and collect!

          • @Bluering48: That’s because the people in the store are useless and just parrot whatever the manager has decided, which is usually wrong much like their Consumer Law knowledge.

Online price matching is the only way I deal with JB and do a collect.

            • +1

@ColtNoir: And many of the managers are idiots - see some of the post discussion on phone dealS. Via chat, they have an excel spreadsheet on suppliers that they price match with (including online stores).

              • @[Deactivated]: Thanks! Got it down to $806 like others above. Also added a gift card I had to reduce even further.

Price match was super quick via JB Hi-Fi online chat. Got connected to an agent in under a minute, then posted the link and price from Dyson/Amazon website at $896. Agent agreed to match and sent a link to a JB cart with price match included. I then added the 92DYSON10SEPT coupon code to bring it down to $806. On check-out page I was able to add my gift card details to reduce to $706. Got SMS within 5 minutes to say it's ready to collect at my local store.

I will go with Amazon for easy return rather than that GGuys

      • +5

Amazon are killing the retail market.
I prefer going to the local retailer to support as they are the ones putting the sale. Without them, Amazon won't have any good sale at all….

        • -4

          It’s such a catch 22

        • Amazon are killing the retail market.

Have you been on Amazon lately? Its full of Chinese generics and besides price matching of branded items, they prices usually ain't that great.

The US version might killing the US retailers, but the OZ version? Its pretty meh.

          • +1

@dyziplen: Only buy from amazon seller
legit no one can't beat free next day delivery

      • +1

best to buy from official Dyson store as they give you the option to return within 15-30 days (I forgot) if you are not happy with it. Maybe they can price match?

      • +1

This depends on what you are after.

If you buy directly from Dyson and are not satisfied or change your mind, you may return your product for a full refund by completing a claim within 45 days of receiving your order.

Dyson provides a 2 year guarantee and you can deal with Dyson directly (as long as your make purchase from an AU retailer like Amazon, JBHIFI, TGG etc). From my past experience, claiming for faulty parts has been great and effortless (as I'd expect given how expensive the products are). Dyson sent me genuine parts with instructions for the replacement, even once when my machine was out of warranty.

How Amazon deals with manufacturer’s warranties is up to their discretion. This has also been great for me when I reported a fault for an Instant Pot outside the warranty period and Amazon just asked me to send it back for a full refund.

        • Yes, buying from local retailer is not treated differently at Dyson and once they verify sale receipt, they offer support even after warranty sometimes.

Is this their best stick vacuum? I get so lost in the models

    • +1

Gen5 is the best for now. I find this really good for carpets and hard floors (using the fluffy optic).
But the motorhead roller ball is very flimsy so be careful.

Not advisable for cleaning dust on furniture since the suction is so weak

      • Okay good to know, thanks mate

      • Use max setting. Works pretty well, app 10 mins run time.

  • I actually bought the Dyson V15s Detect Submarine version of this vacuum and have been really impressed with it.

Came to around $900~ thanks to this deal: Dyson Wet&Dry V15s Detect Submarine

  • Any deals on this Dyson Gen5outsize™ Absolute vacuum. Can’t find anywhere cheaper under $1000

    • Is that the best one they sell?

      • yes pretty much based on all the comparisions

      • I don’t think it’s the best IMO. On paper it probably is but I have noticed the outsize goes on sale more often than the standard version. It is very heavy and uncomfortable to hold compared to the standard version.

      • +1

Another issue with the outsize is although the head is wider, this actually results in overall less suction.

    • Trust me its useless.

  • +4

Gen5 detect complete kit much better and regularly goes for $950-1000 ish

    • agree. I actually mistook this for Gen5 detect and posted.

      • I’d have bought if it was a Gen5 outsize

        • +4

outsize canister is too big and heavier. Gen5 detect is enough. Just keep emptying it after cleaning each room.

          • @Brakus: Its really not unless you have toothpicks for arms

          • @Brakus: Agree with this. I tried the outsize in a store and found it very heavy and cumbersome. Went with the standard Gen5 and find that the dust bin and head size are more than ample.

        • Outsize is overkill, too heavy. Reg gen5 is chill

    • +1

Agreed. The floor dok is actually amazing and holds all the attachments very cleanly.

      • +1

Add on a few of the attachment clips and it can hold even more

        • This. You can order them from Dyson for like $20

    • Gen5 detect was $846 recently with the $150 cashback

      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/863306

      • This isn’t the complete version, and doesn’t come with all the extras I’m referring to

        • Yeah it was. Came with the stand and heeps of heads

  • What is t difference between below 3 models?
    Dyson Gen5outsize™ Absolute
    Gen5 detect complete kit
    Gen5 detect
    Are they the same?

    • +1

Dyson Gen5outsize™ Absolute = Gen5 detect absolute but with bigger dust canister.
Gen5 detect complete kit = comes with stand instead of wall dock + 2-3 other cleaning attachments
Gen5 detect - either stick (lacking fluffy optic cleaner head and other attachments) or absolute (with fluffy optic cleaner head for hard floors)

      • +1

Gen5 Outsize has a bigger head than the standard Gen5 as can be seen here
Far too big for day to day use (getting in between chairs and stools, etc.). Unless you have a huge open area then it might be worth it.

        • Thanks, I'll be watching for promotions for the standard Gen5 detect absolute.

        • An issue with a bigger head is an overall decrease in suction though.

      • Thanks for the education, I feel I like the Gen5 detect absolute😃

        • I got the Gen5detect Complete, the accessories are very handy imo, got it direct from Dyson for ~$950.

          • @buckethat: Is the Gen5detect Complete, same as Gen5 detect absolute?

            • +1

@lily99: No, it comes with a floordok, more accessories and a better colour.

Otherwise they are the same. The complete kit is worth the extra $ for the stand alone.

            • @lily99: Yeah the vacuum themselves are the same.

The Complete just comes with more accessories, namely the scratch free dusting brush, gap tool, extension house, and the standing dock which fits like 5 extra accessories.

If you can grab the complete at a similar price, I would highly recommend it.

The Dyson V15 Detect Absolute and the Dyson Gen5detect™ Absolute are two of Dyson's premium cordless vacuum cleaners. Here’s a comparison of their key differences:

      1. Suction Power
Dyson V15 Detect Absolute: Offers up to 230 AW (air watts) of suction power, which is already quite strong.
Dyson Gen5detect™ Absolute: Newer and slightly more powerful with up to 280 AW suction power, making it Dyson’s most powerful cordless vacuum as of 2024.

      2. Filtration
Dyson V15 Detect Absolute: Features Dyson’s advanced whole-machine filtration, which captures 99.99% of particles down to 0.3 microns.
Dyson Gen5detect™ Absolute: Has upgraded filtration that captures 99.99% of particles as small as 0.1 microns, making it slightly more efficient in capturing ultra-fine dust and allergens.

      3. Battery and Run Time
Dyson V15 Detect Absolute: Provides up to 60 minutes of run time, with swappable batteries (additional batteries sold separately).
Dyson Gen5detect™ Absolute: Also offers up to 70 minutes of run time, and it comes with a built-in, non-removable battery.

      4. Laser Dust Detection
Both models: Feature a laser detection system to reveal microscopic dust on hard floors, making cleaning more efficient.
Gen5detect™ Absolute: The Gen5detect model may have improved detection and sensor technology based on its newer design.

      5. LCD Display
Dyson V15 Detect Absolute: Has an LCD screen that shows the remaining battery life, power mode, and a particle count analysis in real-time.
Dyson Gen5detect™ Absolute: The Gen5detect has a similar display but with updated software and potentially more refined particle detection data.

      6. Cleaning Head and Tools
Both models: Come with multiple cleaning heads and tools, including a laser slim fluffy cleaner head for hard floors and a motorized head for carpets.
Gen5detect™ Absolute: May include newer or slightly refined versions of the cleaning heads and tools compared to the V15.

      7. Price
Dyson Gen5detect™ Absolute: As the newer, more powerful model, the Gen5detect typically comes at a higher price compared to the V15 Detect Absolute.

      8. Size and Weight
Dyson V15 Detect Absolute: Slightly lighter, around 3 kg.
Dyson Gen5detect™ Absolute: Heavier due to its larger battery and more powerful motor, around 3.5 kg.

In summary, the Dyson Gen5detect™ Absolute is a more powerful, slightly more advanced version of the V15 Detect Absolute, with better filtration, more suction power, and a longer run time, but it comes at a higher cost and is a bit heavier.

      • Thanks for the comparison, very good information. Gen5detect seems better in all ways, except that the battery is not removable. Am I correct in saying If the battery die, the whole machine die?

        • +1

Battery is removable, don't even need a screw driver, just push a button.

          • @buckethat: You mean for Gen5detect?

            • +1

@lily99: Yeah for the Gen5detect, I'm pretty sure though that v15 detect also has removable battery with a button.

      • Where did you get that info? Gen5detect does have a swappable battery

        • +3

          It reads like chatgpt lol

  • Any deal for complete version?

  • come on TCB, Cashrewards, Shopback: Bring us a 15-20% upsized cashback for The Good Guys before the prices go up.

    • I think that if you use the price beat, you lose the cashback.

  • Amazon prime is coming up…

Did Dyson offer good deals last year?

I am after a good deal for the Gen5detect.

I was not in the market for one last year so I have no idea :-(

    • Gen5detect complete was available for $997 and absolute was for $897 just a month ago. You'll probably be able to get something similar if not cheaper during Black Friday.

  • Price match TGG (Price Beat) $886 less 10% with code 92DYSON10SEPT = $797.40.

Then pay with Aldi Ultimate 10% off gift cards converted to JB gift cards ($800 leaving $2.66 credit) = $717.66

  • +2

    wait for Gen 5 complete

    • Sounds like a good idea.

  • $881 with promo code RP15HOME2

  • This might be a great price for this product but, seriously, $900 for a cordless tool?

I can't see how the components should warrant a price anywhere near that but I guess it's a status symbol to a large degree so hats off to Mr Dyson - a marketing genius!

    Enjoy.

  • Fam any more codes that work? I am late to the party but the price still seems is still on at Amazon
