Woolworths have rearranged their battery section with lots of lines deleted, so their clearance bin is full of batteries (edit: I found them in MacArthur Center Brisbane, may be in all Woolworths as per comments below). There are some bargains like Varta precharged AAA or AA at $8 (normally $20), and lots of different Duracell copper tops on clearance (I picked up a Duracell 9v 2pk for $5). The Vartas perform on a par with Eneloops in my experience.

  Duracell batteries have been deleted nationwide, you should find surplus stock on clearance at just about every store.

      They still had lots of Duracell's there but just not as big a range as before.
