I didn't get my 10% cashback from Shopback/Good Guys last time.
    This was Sam's response:

Unfortunately, The Good Guys won't process rewards for your recent order due to recent updates. I'm afraid this has been determined by the store and as the store would not assist to investigate, our hands are tied on the matter as we do not share the same system with the store to determine and change the result.

      WTF

    • +4

I get pathetic excuses like this from time to time with Shopback. I'm really wondering who you can lodge a complaint with…

      • +3

The ACCC. Lots of people complain here but never lodge anything. That’s literally what the ACCC are for.

  • is the $25 cap for both the upsized standard and upsized bank bonus ie $50 cap?

    • Looks like just the Bank Bonus has a Cap to me?

Can't see anything in the fineprint about a Cap on the base CB.

but being SB, confirmation would be reassuring.

  • If in doubt, purchased through Topcashback and request them to beat it :)

    • is it easy to price beat through topcashback?

      • yeah there's a form you fill up in the website. They have records of cashback rates from other site and they will review this and beat it by 1%

    • @ozchobie @jellybox The bank bonus isn't part of the TopCashback price beat guarantee though. Not all members at ShopBack have the specific bank cards and they also do not get the capped 10% bank bonus cashback. Those who join ShopBack Plus will get 14% cashback instead of 13% on the regular rate.

You have to be logged in to view: https://www.topcashback.com.au/account/enquiries/highestcash…

What is covered in the guarantee

      • Cashback rates where there is a direct equivalent rate listed on TopCashback.
      • Cashback rates that are displayed to the public on the website where they are offered.
      • For Highest Cashback Guarantee Claims that are approved, members will receive an additional 1% on top of the cashback value. E.g. a 10% rate would increase to 10.1%, or a $50 rate would increase to $50.50.

What's not covered in the guarantee

      • Bonus incentive addons which are offered in addition to the retailer cashback. E.g. $2.50 bonus when spending $10.
      • Rates offered by saving schemes, bank affiliate cashback incentives or discount clubs that are paid for, or are only available to a closed group of people (i.e employees).
      • oh i understand. Just talking about how to deal with Shopback's unreliability in general :) Poor me just ignore the bank bonuses anyways after not having Westpac bonuses anymore :))

But thank you for clarifying that for others :)

        • Agree with the unreliability of ShopBack. I haven't used cashback at The Good Guys and paid with several discounted gift cards at the shop on my last big purchase. Cashback should probably be viewed as a bonus to avoid disappointment.

Maybe you should get a St George Bank card as there seem to be less Westpac offers :)

Cashback offer finishes end of month https://www.stgeorge.com.au/personal/bank-accounts/transacti…

So, if you press on the Price Check button and purchase with this discount, then you don't get the 13% cashback.

  • Why no Westpac deals anymore?

  • Anyone else having issue with the credit card payment? I am getting an error message from Shopback that the purchase needs to be made through the TGG website after filling out my credit card details but I did and cannot go past the credit card payment.
